Bought a bike from them way back in 2001 and aprillia falco long story short me and a friend were cleaning our bikes washing and polishing them apparently unbeknownst to me some how the nock over sensor that lets the ignition know the bike is upright some how fell of its mount and was hanging well I called moto Milano talked to someone there explain my bike wasn't starting after all it's basically new they sent a guy down to pick it up which i Thought was awesome a few days later I get a call saying okay we figured out why it wasn't starting your upright sensor had fell of its mount and wasn't in place guy sounded like I was supposed to know this ....i just said okay I'll come up the next day and get it ....after getting there they explained it to me I go and get on my bike ride home ...the next day after riding it to a friends house he was looking at my bike while I was talking to him and said hey why is your rear rim have a huge gouge in it? Dam so does the front wow I looked and was completely flabbergasted I could believe what I was seeing after a intense discussion we both came to a realization that someone at the dealership did that because someone had to put some serious force on those rims to bend them like that right where the beed of the tire was ....after showing this to another dealer I worked with for many years they came to the same conclusion I was freakin pissed I knew who the culprits were dam fu**ing ass**les I ended up let the bike get repossessed and that sh** sorry excuse of a motorcycle dealer didn't want it well back ....they had no choice.....jerks !! Zach the New Owner is absolutely amazing, my tires were pretty bald and my friends wanted to hit Laconia Bike week, I called and explained I really needed new tires before going on that adventure he thankfully had the tire in stock, I rushed over after work and got there close to his closing time. He worked after hours making sure I had a safe ride come the weekend. Another time, I brought my bike back to life as it didn't want to start after the winter, but it was acting up and not shifting gears properly after. I took it to Zach and he found I had missed putting back a small spring. With in two weeks he had it running like it was brand new. His shop is very busy. My bike had completely shut down on me, and I wasn't to far from Moto Milano I called and hoped Zach would be able to help, as I told him I would definitely pay him for his time. He shut down his shop and came to the rescue, I was located near the Dug Out, I thankfully was able to get it running just as he showed up, I realized water was getting in my gas tank and was able to work it out. I have been familiar with Moto Milano since the mid 90s. I made the mistake of having Jerry and his crew rebuild a GSX-R 750cc water cooled engine into a 907cc APE big bore kit for a street fighter project I was building. Jerry took 6+ months longer to do this job than promised and worst of all, he and his staff intentionally sabotaged the build...the motor would start and idle and during a quick test ride on Route 302 seemed ok, but when I got the bike home and actually started riding it, the motor continually would cut cut out as if it was starving of fuel. A local Suzuki shop in Central ME spent half a day trying to troubleshoot this problem only to find out that one of Jerry's shop techs had stuffed a jet purposely inside the main fuel line to starve the motor of fuel and basically send me on my way with a big F-you and a nearly $5k bill complete with a "free" Moto Milano Tshirt. This shop is money driven and nothing else. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

I will never use or recommend these guys to anyone. We brought two different bikes here. the first one we got an oil change and tune-up. got the bike back within 4 days, started it once, rode it to the trail and it died. we brought it back, asked if something was wrong with the plug, they pulled it and told us it was fine. so we brought it to Mikes Cycles in scarborough instead and told him the story. a day later he calls us and says the spark plug was defective and that was the problem. first stupid mistake. they should have known that when they tested the plug. the second bike was a 1985 xr250. we brought it there hoping they would work on it. they said they would! 3 weeks later we went to get it, and they had to pull it out of storage. hadnt been touched. not so much as a phone call or update or anything. I will NEVER bring anything here again. not even my shitty lawnmower. these guys are noobs and cant be trusted to work on ducatis when they can't handle a simple spark plug change. The owner, Gerry Milano, ordered the wrong full Termignoni exhaust for my Ducati 1198s. By the time I discovered it had the incorrect ECU it was no longer covered by Ducati's warranty. Even though the error was made my Moto Milano, Gerry wouldn't give me the courtesy of returning my phone calls, much less exchange the ECU to make it right. Seems like a cut-and-dried question of ethics to me, but maybe I'm crazy... read more

In my 30 plus years of of motorcycle ownership I can safely say that this dealership sets the bar for horrible customer experience. Let me explain. Was told they worked on all makes of bikes so I had them pick up my bike mid-winter ( bit of a slow season for biking in ME) and carefully explained all the issues I was having. Weeks later no word . Couple of polite phone calls over the course of time and still nothing. Finally said I'll just come pick up the bike and take it elsewhere. Miraculously the bike was "fixed "within a few days . Supposedly carbs were cleaned, synced etc and 1 ignition coil was replaced all to the tune of almost $700 . Rode the bike out of the lot and no change whatsoever. I was told bike was test ridden and all was good. What I got was a 4 cylinder bike running on 3 cylinders, chronically backfiring , and getting less than 20 mpg. Called back and politely explained that all problems still existed and their solution was replacing the other ignition coil which of course did nothing to alleviate the problem and I was charged another hour of labor for. This whole process went on for 3 months until I finally went to another local dealer who sorted out my fueling issues ( assuring me carbs hadn't been touched) and had me back on the road in a few days. Recently bought a new bike and the Multistrada was at the top of my list but the thought of ever depending on these guys for ... well , anything really , steered me in another direction. I have known Jerry the owner for a long time. He was much less stressed and grumpy when he was smaller. I have watched him become less and less concerned with being a nice to people. I assume this is because he does not need to make one individual happy anymore because he's so big. Or, maybe it's just he has a lot of money. It's too bad but I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere in the future. Unfortunately, I know it won't affect his much. If you can find nicer people and smaller businesses to deal with, I would recommend that. read more

How do businesses like this stay in business? I emailed Moto Milano after finding their contact information listed on the dealer page for Zard Exhausts. A day later no reply, so I decided to call. After 10 rings, a person picksped up and said "yeah". Long pause on my end, again, "yeah, who is it?" I asked if it was Moto Milano (MM). "Yeah, what is it?" Even after this I still asked my question, knowing full well I should have hung up by now. The answer to my question is a chuckle, and "no are you kidding, we don't carry Zard." Long pause, I say did you know you're listed on their we sote as a dealer? His reply, I can't remember the last time I ordered a Zard. Long pause, I say goodbye. I call back 15 minutes later to let him know what I thought of his behavior and questioned wether or not he was in business and he got angry with me and gave me some story about being Maine's only Ducati dealer with a shining 28 year reputation. I asked how he could be staying in business treating callers the way he does and he replied, "by hanging up." And he did. After reading the other 2 strongly negative reviews, I have to say I'm glad we never began a transaction and I'll never do business with or recommend MM. Bill in Bangor read more

I took my Ducati to Moto Milano for a rough running issue. They determined that I had a porous cylinder head on the horizontal cylinder which was allowing oil to get into the combustion chamber causing my rough running. Their recommendation was to rebuild a used cylinder head and re-install. They purchased the used head, rebuilt it and re-assembled. About four weeks later they had completed the repair but the bike was still not running correctly. When I drove the bike home for the first time it was running worse then before. When I got home and looked the bike over in detail I found that they had left off/disconnected most of my vacuum and carb drain lines, left the lower throttle cable disconnected from the carb mount (very dangerous), one of the carb boots was not connected to the air box allowing unfiltered air into the engine, my "dash" was broken, a lever, bar end, foot peg and exhaust were scraped. I put everything that was left disconnected back on correctly and the bike ran better than when I drove it home, but my original issue was not resolved. They had also changed my hydraulic fluid at my request and got brake fluid on the front brake pads which was causing my front brakes to grab, chatter and pulsate especially at slow speeds. I called Moto Milano back, talked to Gerry, and calmly explained to him all that I had found wrong and expressed my anger. He told me to bring the bike back and that Jamie had something to say to me. When I got there Jamie admitted he had dropped my motorcycle and forgot to tell me. In my ignorance I told them to only replace the damaged items that were obvious. After another couple of weeks, they repaired the muffler as best they could and replaced the front brake lever with a different lever. They unsuccessfully tried adjusting the carbs to get the bike to run better. They unsuccessfully scuffed the front brake pads to try to get the brake fluid out of them. They replaced some of the missing lines with home-made lines that did not match the other lines (before this my 1993 bike was all original). The second time I went to get my bike, they still had high hydrocarbon readings on the horizontal cylinder and I found that the bike was not running any different. The front brake was still grabby, chattering and pulsating. When I was looking the bike over at home I saw that the front brake pad retaining pin was just hanging in its mount. I grabbed it with my fingers and it pulled right out! This pin is friction fit and needs to be tapped in. If this pin would have fallen out completely I could have lost my front brake pads with possible deadly results. I called them back and explained this and they just glossed over the brake pad pin issue and told me that they would order some brake pads to replace the fluid soaked pads. They arrived a few weeks later and I went in to pick them up. I asked if they were going to install them and Gerry said he would because of all the issues I had. While he was installing the pads, I asked him if they had the clutch lever to match the brake lever that they replaced. They did so I told him I would buy it. After installing the pads he rang me up and he charged me for the pads! I was pissed, but as you can tell, I just wanted away from them so I didn't say anything. I couldn't ride my bike much last summer because of how bad it was running. I checked my ignition and found that it was in-spec. I checked the compression and found that it was 90psi on the horizontal cylinder (the one Moto Milano rebuilt) compared to 130psi (in spec) on the vertical cylinder. I figured that it couldn't be the head because it had just been rebuilt. This spring I took it to Eric Colbath (BCM Ducati mechanic) at Clubhouse Motorsports in Moultonborough, NH and explained the entire ordeal to him. He was like my own personal mechanic. He called at every step and and explained everything to me. He confirmed the low compression reading so he did a leakdown test and found that it was leaking too much. He first checked the valve adjustment on the rebuilt head and found one valve out of spec. He adjusted it but that didn't solve my issue. We decided that he should take the head & cylinder off to investigate further. Upon doing so we found that Moto Milano had supplied, rebuilt and installed the wrong cylinder head on my motorcycle and was causing my low compression issue. We also found the source of the compression leak was a scored cylinder/piston. He cleaned up a used cylinder/piston set, rebuilt my original head and re-assembled. He found that there was a shim missing in my head between the cam and cam bearing and that I didn't receive my tachometer drive gear back with my original head and the tach gears in the wrong head don't fit in the correct head. My bike is now running great but with no working tachometer. Took them to court and received $250 in damages and $50 court fee repayment. read more

Customer service was definitely lacking. I've called this place multiple times to get a recall and some other work done on my 1199 Panigale. Each time I've been told someone would call me back. Its now been about a month since the first phone call. I haven't heard a thing from them. When he didn't call me back that day I figured he was probably busy, no problem. A week went by, jeesh he must really be busy, slightly annoying. Two weeks went by I called again, didn't call me back that day, and still nothing. Now I'm annoyed enough to write this review. I had planned on getting a lot of work done on my bike there but now it looks like I'm going to have to take it out of state. I guess I don't really mind, I'll just turn it into a track trip but I'm seriously disappointed that I have to take my bike out of state just to get work done on it. I dont expect a one day turnaround but I do expect at least a call back. read more
