A prominent Eye Surgeon in Atlanta, had performed cataract surgery about 18 months before my move to the Bay Area. Before cataract surgery my vision was 20/25. Rougly normal. After Surgery it immediately went down to 20/50 in one eye and 20/80 in the other. In other words I had to be within 20 feet of an object that a person with normal vision could see from 50 or 80 feet depending on the eye. That's a reduction in vision of roughly 75%. For 18 months I spent thousandnof dollars, and endless appointments with specialists in Atlanta. Nobody could figure out how to repair the damage that had been done. Shortly after moving to the area, I met Dr. Zloty by chance. I gave him the files from the Previous Opthalmologist, and made an appointment as immediately as possible to see Dr.Zloty. Dr Zloty did one test during my appointment. The same test, using the same equipment had been conducted several times in Atlanta. Within 15 minutes, gave ne a detailed explanation of my problem. Within a few weeks and two simple procedures, I now have 20/20 vision. Dr Zloty says it will continue to improve! So was it a miracle? I don't know. But I do know that my vision has been saved because Dr Zloty had knowledge that a large team of other Doctors in Atlanta didn't have. On another note. My neighbor had surgery in Texas before coming here. She is an 89 year old widow that is very active. One of her eyes had lost all vision. She had seen other Doctors, with no results. I told her about my experience and she made an appointment with Dr. Zloty. Surgery was conducted yesterday and her sight has been restored! I called a week later and received the runaround from the receptionist on the phone. I left a message, but my call was not returned. I had to call back and request to speak with the practice manager just to get an update on the status of my contacts. When I asked for the owners' email addresses, she could only provide one, claiming she doesn't email the other owner very often and couldn't find their email address. Is there really no way for a customer to discuss service issues with an owner? While the doctor was professional, the staff was not. He came from a huge practice that he built in Utah to be close to family and Costco and anyone between Pensacola and Mobile should feel blessed he is gracing us with his presence! He truly loves what he does and it shows. He works in this tiny office in Costco with his son-n-law who was also pleasant when he greeted me briefly as I was leaving the office. So, onto my experience! I am in Pensacola most of the time when I'm not abroad these days with trips down to my US home (Tampa) when I need to see a Doctor or there's an event, etc. Hubbystanks convinced me before I went back to Panama (C. America) that I should see his new Penacola eye doctor (a very popular optometry practice in Pensacola btw). I did, and the doctor was fine. He even convinced me to try contacts again because Precision 1 material may not have my GPC act up (I got lasik in 2016 because contacts hurt my eyes badly). So, I let the Pensacola optometrist know that I was flying to Panama and I won't be back until mid Summer. He gave me a trial pack of the Precision 1 and he was right. I was able to wear them without issue. So, I get back to the US and give the Pensacola optometry a call in September to let them know I want to go ahead and order the contacts and the person who answered tole me I should have come back within 3 months because now I not only need to do a contact fitting, but I also need to do my whole eyeglass exam over again. Insurance only let's you go to the eye doctor once a year and prescriptions last 2 years, so this made no sense. I decided I'm not giving the Pensacola optometrist any more of my money as I explained I don't live here and I am not usually in the US for more than 5 months at a time. So I figured I'd go to my normal eye doctor in Tampa to get a contact fitting. My mom and I planned on me playing hooky from work since she was out of work during the gov't shutdown to take a trip to Costco. Last minute I grabbed my eyeglass prescription and my empty trial box of contacts and figured I'd try the Costo optometrist. So glad I did. Dr. Haggard not only gave me advice that no other optometrist gave me before, but he also gave me some health tips based on what he could see in my eyes! I swear I walked out of there with misty eyes, because not only did I get THE BEST service since I've been in this area, but he solved a problem for me that I don't think any other optometrist would have. In case you need to know my issue: again I had GPC so contacts were super uncomfortable as soon as I put them in, got lasik, and my lasik has since worn off because I became a content creator and was on my phone and on a computer (IT Work) straining my eyes. I was told that after having lasik that I would probably need reading glasses earlier, but because I use my eyes up close on my phone so much, the opposite happened: little by little I couldn't see far again. I tricked my brain. So now I'm at a -2.00 to see perfectly and need glasses only when it's dark or to see something too far...but living in beautiful Panama for half the year, I want to see well when I go out! Since I don't need reading glasses, when I put on glasses or contacts to see far, it hurts my eyes if I need to see my phone! So I normally take my glasses off to use my phone. Can't do that with contacts! Dr. Haggard had me only wear one contact in my dominant eye. He explained how the brain is smart enough to choose which eye to see out of. When I need to see far my "contact eye" activates. When I need to see close the eye without the contact is working. So I can see normally again with contact. Dr. Haggard also gave me different types and strengths of contacts to try so I can let him know what works best for me. Although Precision 1 works great, I'm going with Total 30 because I don't wear contacts unless I'm out and about and don't need to wear them when I'm working from home. Long ass review, but I hope that this helps someone else with these issues! Dr. Haggard is a Godsend!

When he took measurements…read morefor my cataract surgery he forgot that I had had LASIK surgery 20 years prior and said lens measurements would have been different. He said the double vision should subside; it didn't. Two weeks after surgery I fell and broke my neck. Seven weeks later, I fell and broke my back. He tried to correct it with glasses, but they didn't help. After many months he finally agreed to redo the surgery in my left eye; the redo of the left eye has helped, but I told him I was still having double vision in my other eye. He did a laser procedure to break up floaters in my right eye; it didn't help. Still had funny, distracting dizzy, bad vision. After healing from a broken neck and back, I still needed to use a walker because of the bad vision in my right eye. I fell again, while up on the walker and broke off the top of my humerus bone. I have pleaded with him to do a redo of my right eye because that eye still had the lens with the original wrong measurements. He refuses to correct any more of his mistakes. He is a good surgeon for cataracts ....until he refuses to correct mistakes he made. It is like he doesn't believe me that I am having problems with the other eye too. Now, he said that I should get another ophthalmologist. I am really disappointed in him. Forgot to mention that with my original he said that measurements would have been different for the replacement lens had he remembered about the prior LASIK surgery.

I reviewed and updated My Chart and checked in online, so I didn't have to do it in the office; I only had to pay my co-pay. I had an address correction on My Chart, and after that was done, I waited only a few minutes before I was called back for my appointment with Dr Adrien DiVittorio. After taking my weight, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation, the nurse asked the usual questions about changes in medications and issues I've had since my last visit. After summarizing what I needed to discuss with Dr. DiVittorio, I waited until he arrived. Dr. DiVittorio had already reviewed My Chart updates and the summary, so we got right to him asking questions and changing medication to get better results. I was given a sample inhaler to start on and will follow up with the nurse practitioner in four months to see how I do on the new regimen. I like how Diagnostic and Medical Clinic and Dr. Adrien DiVittorio's Office work. Their system is very efficient. The time you have with the doctor is the limitation Medicare gives him, not what the doctor chooses to provide you with.
