Want the nitty-gritty? Stay with me. Also accept my apologies in advance - because I'm going to take you on a journey for a minute. My home-buying story. It really could be a novel. We are a young family. We have a one and half year old who thinks she's grown. We both work. A LOT. We are both in the military as reservists. We have big families. You get the point, we're busy people. After nearly seven years of marriage and changing career fields, we finally decided it was time to buy a home. YAY! So excited. With agent referrals left and right, we went with who we thought was a sure thing, no nonsense, have our backs agent. I'll spare the details, but it was a DISASTER. We learned so many hard lessons. Tears shed. Money lost. Time wasted. Hearts broken. So now what? Feeling embarrassed, frustrated, disrespected, and mislead, and defeated, it was time to start over. Again...endless referrals and not knowing who or how to choose another agent, left us pretty anxious. ENTER RUTHY. I met Ruthy through a community event (which she spearheaded by the way...BONUS...she is INVESTED in the community she serves), and I liked her. Without knowing her, I just liked her. Immediately. Again...being the busy bee's we are, I had multiple engagements, but we really wanted to make an offer...so over the phone, at kids birthday party, Yumee Kang with Guild Mortgage went through our application with me so that I wouldn't have to leave and do it from home. On a Saturday. This is just one example of how this team goes above and beyond. We ended up making multiple offers, sometimes sight unseen. I felt bad having Ruthy right up offers so much, but she didn't blink an eye. She was patient, but not afraid to give us gentle reminders when appropriate. She was never pushy, never tried to oversell or pressure us. Always made sure we were aware of each step and what it meant for us. Could we have done it without this team? Sure, we could have gotten a house...but I honestly cannot imagine we'd be in our home without this team. I don't even WANT to imagine going through this process without this team. Sound dramatic? It is. Home buying is nuts. Choosing an agent, I would argue, is the most important choice you make in the process. Long story short- Andy Taylor Homes saved us. In Nov. 2017, we started looking to purchase a property in Tacoma area while living in Phoenix. Looking on line, we contacted a few realtors who never responded to us. The only one who responded promptly was David. Prior to our site visits in Tacoma area from Dec. 6 to 13, David showed us half a dozen of properties by using Skype. We arrived in Tacoma on Dec. 6. He picked up on the next day and went methodically through the "wish list"we sent him. He proposed that we looked from the north to the south. So we went to as far as Des Moines to look at properties. On the 2nd day of visiting properties, we found a golf course property with Rainier view. But before we made an offer, the property had an offer. So, we continued to look. By the end of the third day, we almost gone through our wish list and his recommendation, but did not find anything we really like because we were looking for a home with unobstructable view and modern architecture style. David said, there was a home on your first version of wish list, so you want to see it? He is thorough. We said how far is it. He said just a few blocks away. We went to see it and we loved it. Made an offer. Offer was accepted on a Monday. David immediately arranged inspection on Tuesday. We got to see the house again and review the inspection report with the inspectors. By the time we sat in the aircraft flying back to Phoenix, we not only found a dream home but have it inspected and followed up with post inspection requests. The closing process was delayed by a week because of the septic tank I section. But David handled it professionally. He knew that we were to move in without taking furniture from Phoenix and offered to help us to have a bed delivered to our new home after closing. We are in this home with million dollar view. Our friends from Phoenix visited us recently and said to us: after seeing your new home, now we know why gi ou moved so fast. August 20, 2019 I would like to extend appreciation for the time David Pichler spent with us finding the home that best suited us. David is a very professional, Five Star agent, who knows the real estate business. His adherence and understanding of laws such as brokerage policies, escrow processes and both state and federal real estate laws were visible in his communication with us.
