Great library! Very nice staff, has an old school charm without being depressing (like the Framingham Library) and lots of easy-to-book study rooms. Note, the study rooms are NOT sound proof. I did not realize this and booked one to take meetings on zoom, and was promptly asked to keep my voice down. Oops. Tons of tables around the library to set up and work in addition to the private study rooms. The only drawback is metered street parking only. read more

The Morse library is a great institution in the center of Natick. I routinely come here with my daughter to read books, do puzzles, or play with the toy kitchen or the wooden train. I also sometimes works from the library. There are little quiet nooks next to windows which are ideal for quiet concentrated work. The WiFi is reliable and fast enough, the bathrooms are clean, and there are water fountains. I also often borrow books, either physical or digital copies. The Minuteman Library Network has a ton of books and they will ship them to your library of choice. There are still more things that I haven't yet tried: 3D printing, classes and events, and reserving rooms for my meetings. Finally I have found the staff to be very knowledgeable and pleasant to interact with. read more

Excellent library! It offers so much, books, dvds ,video games, magazines, wonderbooks, etc. Things that were surprising was that you can check out gardening tools or bongo drums. tents etc. I checked the website, there are tons of programs and events, from in-person to virtual; programs for infants to adults; mediation to tai chi, etc. you can also reserve a museum pass through the library. This is fantastic. We are lucky that our community has such a great library. read more

If you haven't brought your library card down to the Morse Institute Library - what are you waiting for?!?!?! They've got so much to offer. From DVD's and books on tape to the latest cookbooks and mysteries. They offer plenty of great, free programs for kids, teens and adults. Did you know you could take out museum passes? Yup! Get into museums for free or a really reduced rate. My favorite - ordering everything online and having it waiting for me in the hold section. Natick is my dream-town. I really enjoy living in Westwood, but Natick just has everything that a successful resident of Massachusetts needs. A huge mall, great schools, a wonderful downtown area, and even better: a SUPERB library! In Westwood, we just got a brand new library, however it's HORRIBLE. It's been closed three times due to faulty ceilings and just doesn't provide the coziness that is necessary in a library. Plus the heating is horrible and the staff (or at least the director) is far worse than rude. On the other hand, the Morse Institute Library on Route 135 in Natick (right before Natick Center) is outstanding. I believe the building is old, but has gotten a full gut job inside and has been completely remodeled. I'm not sure, but whatever they did, and continue to do, it still looks very new, niche, and modern. It is very well kept, organized, clean and user friendly as well. Lots of resources, lots of CD's and DVD's (in comparison to other libraries), and tons of computers. Friendly employees that are willing to help you with whatever you may need, and great printers that actually work well. Copy machine works well too. But the absolute gem of the More Institute Library is the BOOK SALES! I have always loved Book Sales, but have to be careful. Over the last 15-20 years, I have grown my book collection to literally a library inside of my house, so I really need to be cautious coming here, because I just go "book-crazy". The book sale is absolutely the best around. The surrounding libraries have "decent" book sales (Westwood, Wellesley, Needham, Norwood, Dedham..... I've been to basically EVERYWHERE!), however, Natick is the BEST. Especially now since I don't go to the Framingham Library's Book Sale anymore (I don't want to get electrocuted in their unstable building....). Great prices, and an overall amazing selection of books and DVD's that anyone can buy. They are also a part of the Minuteman Library Network (which is headquartered in Natick as well), so you can "Request" any item you want online to be shipped to the library. Definitely suggest becoming a part of this network... it's much better than any other that I have dealt with! 5 stars for the Morse Institute Library. It's really a treat to come here! read more

I grew up in Natick and the library was a place I spent a great deal of time at, it got even better after they redid the place and left the original part of the library intact! When I was little I participated in many programs the library offered--summer reading clubs, story time, crafts and movies in the summer! I worked at the library briefly, not my favorite job but just part of my experience there. I also learned about the internet there in 1996! The staff is wonderful, the selection is large and the library still has little quiet nooks and crannies to go sit and read in. I've never felt more comfortable at any other library. read more

This is the best library I have ever been in, period. It has been a large part of my life from an early age when my mom would take my sister & I here to the children's department/area. She was friends with all of the children's librarians and we knew them all by name and vice versa, making for a very nice environment for young children. As I aged and started to use the internet, this library was again a place I spent a lot of time at. I don't spend as much time here as I used to, but they are still just as great as they were throughout my life. I go into libraries in other towns and they leave much to be desired vs. the Morse Institute Library in Natick. The only thing I think that needs to be better is to be open more in the summer and on weekends. read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this library. The library has good hours for people that work the 9-5 jobs. I usually look up the books I'd like to borrow online, and they'll send me an email when my books arrive or before they are due. Whenever I go there, the staff there is excellent, very friendly and efficient. I'm pleasantly surprised at the amount of dvds they have, and have definitely reduce my spending by borrowing the dvds from the library instead. The place is always clean, very pleasant to visit. It's also big, with tons of places to sit back and read, or do some work. They have free wifi. I'm so glad to have this library walking distance to my home. On nice summer weekend, i could stroll through the farmers market at the commons, make a stop at the library and enjoy a nice walk with my dog around the neighborhood. read more

Morse Library is my happy place. This library makes me just as excited as when I was a kid. I always find something interesting to read or do here. Here are some of my favorite things: Study Rooms - Need to get out of the house? Need some quiet time to do some work? Morse Library has several beautiful study rooms that can be reserved out for private use. Puzzles - Sometimes they leave large puzzles out on a table for visitors to work on. It's a nice mental break. Magazines, Comic Books, Manga - Morse carries a lot of graphic novels and comic books. They also subscribe to many modern magazines, including Time, National Geographic and even Martha Stewart Weddings. Telescope rental - You can borrow a really awesome telescope and use it to observe stars and planets. Museum passes - Morse has a great selection of passes for free admission or discounts to museums and parks in Massachusetts. Morse has helped me discover many new attractions. read more

Great library, great collection, great staff. The librarians and library staff here support a massive collection and a demanding community with the feeling of small-town service and metropolitan efficiency. I consider the community demanding, because there are a lot of library users, I can't say anything about attitude necessarily (my neighbors all seem nice.) The library is open all the time it seems, the staff always has time to help me in person or on the phone. There are frequent events for various age groups, and the library seems well represented in larger town events. The facility is clean and new feeling, with good preservation of the original building in it's front west corner. The collection has a good mix of popular materials and rather specific interests, and I have little reason to go to a book shop with the library down the street from me. read more

As a general rule I try not to take my wallet with me when I hit the Wellesley Booksmith. I have a weakness for hardcovers and hard to find periodicals. When I can't indulge myself with the purchase of a stack of new releases I head over to the Natick Library (or the Morse Institute if you prefer). This is a wonderfully modern library in the heart of downtown Natick. As a member of the Minuteman Network of libraries you would be hard pressed not to find what you are looking for. If its not on the shelves they will help you request it from a partner library. The staff are amazing like that! DVDs you say? Suprise...they have tons. Seriously, a bazillion might be a slight exaggeration. Again, the best part is that if they don't have it on their shelves, most likely they can get it somewhere else. (Netflix beware, I've been able to reduce my monthly subscription by supplementing my DVD habit at the Natick Library). read more

If you're coming here for a good time just don't. I arrived at around 230 pm on a Monday hoping to get some paperwork done. Only to be interrupted 5 times by the worker, homeless people, children, teens making out. Place made me feel uncomfortable and down right dirty. Recently moved to this area and I love this little local library! There's always events hosted here, with lots of activities that are family friendly. Borrowing books is also very convenient - you can request titles online and have them picked up in this location. There's also museum passes available that you can get. This library also has a number of study rooms you can reserve ahead of time if you want to have a meeting. read more

What a terrific community resource. The Natick Library offers so much. I'm a big fan of using the on-line ordering resources. Being able to access materials from all over the country has been very helpful with research. The Bookmobile is another great treasure. For those unable to get out and about - having their materials delivered to their neighborhood is a wonderful service. The staff is terrific and always willing to help locate an item or suggest material. read more

It is a good library and the staff is usually very good. the reason for only 4 stars is it can get very noisy at times. mothers with out of control kids and loud cell phone talkers. I suppose the staff is reluctant to remind these people its a shared public space, not their own home. read more

It's ok. The women at reference were very knowledgeable and pleasant (5stars). I don't really get that from the women working in the children's section, they (two of them, one woman was very nice) seem to act uninviting, they've never greeted us, offered to show us around or explain where things are (or if activities are available) compared to other libraries we've visited they seem less enthusiastic to encourage our little readers. I walked in here soo frazzled, trying to send a fax (my card was stolen and I had to dispute right away) after the post office didn't have a fax machine and would have charged $20 for over night shipping. Dimitri was extremely kind and helpful! He helped me break my $20 so I could send them at all, and assisted me with the entire process of sending/scanning the fax. His help really calmed me down after trying to get this all done quickly. The fax was queued but he assured me it will go through and if for some reason I have any troubles, they will be there if I have any other questions. You don't get that kind of service anywhere and it was significantly easier than going to staples. It was also my first time going to this library although I live down town and it's so cozy and beautiful I plan to return for my library card soon. Thanks again! read more

I moved to Natick 14 years ago and started using Morse Institute Library almost immediately. It is outstanding. I was able to find a lot of interesting books for myself, Russian language movies and DVDs for my Mom who does not speak English, and tons of books, movies , music for my son. Since he was very little, it was our favorite place, and we went there a few times a week. Morse Institute staff is simply wonderful. They are very knowledgeable, helpful and always friendly and seem to remember names of all their patrons. I always feel welcome there and go to our library often. My family also used discounted or free passes to museums a lot. Online system got better and better with time. It is very convenient to use, and I can not say enough about our library quarterly book sales. I feel very fortunate to have such a gem in our neighborhood. read more

I live in Natick and come here often- so great to have it right in the center of town so I can stop at the post office and hang out in the common after picking up a new book. Signing up for a card is super easy. They have a great selection of just about anything you could want- in addition to what you would expect, they also have a great selection of cookbooks (including some very recent ones that I would otherwise have bought on Amazon, and now I don't have to!), travel guidebooks, and TV shows and movies on DVD. These are all things that even if you're not a huge reader, you can still appreciate and take advantage of for free. One thing that I find amazing is that you can sign up to receive emails if one of your items is due back soon, and you can renew materials online. It's also always relatively quiet, which I really appreciated when I was working on my master's thesis last year. Just trust me, if you live nearby, become a member- it's free and you can find just about anything that you would otherwise buy online. Oh, and PS: I left my library card here by accident, and they took the time to look me up and mail it to me. So lovely! read more

I truly do love this library. And the whole minuteman network. Borrowing books from any library and they can get picked up at your home base library is great! The ONLY reason I am giving 4 stars and not 5 is based on the fact that the Children's Dept isn't very kid friendly. It is completely separate from the rest of the library, and though this library has a life size castle with puppets, puzzles, a train table, an aquarium; if kids play too loudly they get shushed by the librarians. I wish it were more kid friendly like the Dover library, where talking, laughing and playing is encouraged. Why bother with fun toys and attractions if you can't enjoy them? I understand that people read and libraries are traditionally quiet places, but this is a children's library with children's toys available, so it should be understood that children will play read more

I love this library. It has a nice layout and a good selection. I use the interlibrary loan program quite a bit, and I love how they've moved those materials into the library instead of keeping them behind the desk. I didn't give it a 5 because I compare it to Watertown's library. Watertown's library has a little diner/book shop. I miss that. read more

i've been trying to write a review of this library for the past year but there's just so much to share that i don't know where to start. in addition to all the regular library stuff (you know, like books, dvds, computers, museum passes, etc...) they have cool events including film nights and lectures. the librarians are all friendly, and the library as a whole is very in touch with the community. the space is big, clean, and modern with plenty of space to read, study, and work online whether on their computers or on your own with free wi-fi. while you can request anything from books to dvds from other libraries in the network, i usually find everything i need right at morse. their collection is huge, diverse, and updated frequently. i owe my sanity to this library- they have kept my broke and jobless ass entertained for months! to give you an idea, here's what i currently have checked out (for free! i believe some libraries in the network charge for movies): 2 vegan cookbooks, jillian michael's 30 day shred, a sean kingston cd, and season 2 of how i met your mother. while that doesn't say much for my taste...in anything, please know that this library is amazing and i'm so lucky to have it in my town. read more
