Lovely place. My only concern is that there are so many left wing radical books on Palestine and left wing people who preach hate. I have not seen a book on display about our Great President Trump or any of the wonderful women he has hired. Many books are on all the left wing radical women and DEI people Biden has hired. I feel this is racist towards white people and conservatives. Maybe they have the books but they are very hidden. The radical democrat books are on display. This is shameful. The library should be so proud of the President of the United States of American. read more

Libraries are excellent resources and there should be more of them. And they should be easily accessible, like this one is. It's close to the Wellesley Square and the commuter rail station, there's tons of parking here for cars and bicycles and the entire facility is completely handicapped accessible. Wellesley's Free Library is a winner. This is a large library with a huge collection of books. I have been going to this wonderful institution for a few years now. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly to the point they even remember your name. They are also a part of the Minuteman Library system so you do not have to be a Wellesley resident to take out materials. Plus you can go online and request items to be held for you. The facility is always clean and well stocked. Free internet access with many available terminals. In the past few weeks they just installed a very cool self check out service. Not many free libraries have free underground parking and a drive up deposit window so you can stay in your vehicle. This is one of the most pleasant libraries I have ever visited. read more

Pretty good library. Beautiful overall library, that is new. Small parking lot, yet they also have a parking garage, which is useful. I went to the children's department to make some copies and prints. Not very happy that the cost for a print was $.20, over $.10 at the Dedham library (which is closer to my house). The staff at the children's desk, one older woman, was very helpful and friendly with printing. The checkout area is large, has a self checkout (which I love) station, and friendly staff there. In the past, I have also visited their book sale in a large room in the library. Always a great sale and success. Located right on Route 135 in Wellesley on Washington Street. Good library in the area, but the nearby Morse Institute Library in Natick is better, as well as both of the Dedham libraries. read more

The free library was clean and well-lit! The first floor has a great selection of children's books and I saw a couple of kids having a blast jumping on the giant Olaf plushie. read more

There is an underground parking garage! That alone should warrant looks of jealousy from other libraries. I love Newton, Natick, Arlington, and other Minutemen Library Network members... but how many have a free garage? There's also a nice backyard when you want to talk on the phone with privacy while getting a sun tan. Books are a given here. That garage though! read more

I HAVE to say something about this place. The librarians are SO rude. They all have this air about them like they really did not expect to be librarians at this age. That's fine - but patrons really do not need to be snapped at, and we DON'T need your opinions and takes on the books that we place on hold or check out. Please stick to your day jobs, guys. Also, the highest fines of any library system that I have ever dealt with. $0.20/day, which adds up if you aren't careful. For such a good neighborhood, the selection is sub-par, and resources like study rooms or wifi / computer tables are ALWAYS strapped. You also (for some reason) cannot ever renew newer books b/c they are always on hold for some other customer - minor, I know, but eyebrow raising when this is an almost constant occurrance. The children that come here are always improperly attended (think running around SCREAMING or arguing in the reading / quiet rooms), and don't expect the libarians - who are more than capable of popping out of the woodwork when it's time to be rude - to actually DO anything about this - even when the matter is brought to their attention on multiple occasions. Conclusion - don't come here expecting to get work done or the books you need, You'll be ordering a lot from other libraries in the system (from less impressive zip codes, no less) and the librarians are all convinced that they are the stars of their own reality show or something. Extra star for being a somewhat decent place when you go at the right time w/ the right staff, but why should you have to worry about that at a FREAKING LIBRARY, no? And they are open on Sundays (1-5) so deserves the second star for that. Tips - go early in the morning when the place is quiet, you can find a place to work and the librarians don't hate their lives yet. If you go after that, you will need to be in and out - try to use the self scan if you can. Also try to order whatever book you want on the website to pick up only @ WFL. You will probably NOT be able to find anything that was published in 2007 or later w/ great ease. read more

Library had some patrons that did not take care of their hygiene for whatever reason and got particles in the air that went airborne and got people like myself sick every time I went to the library ---- hence why I've been trying to avoid going there as much as I could. Computers weren't 100% up to par and could be improved; certainly weren't sanitized and clean either. Their login system wasn't the same as the one at the Weston Main Library but had attractive colors at least. Library in general made some nice interior improvements like some new book machines and the custodian that was there before I went there again today has worked pretty hard to try to keep the library clean and deserves more pay for working hard. read more

I never reviewed the Wellesley Free Library even though I've been patronizing it since before they built the new building? I've spent more time here than 90% of the places I've reviewed on Yelp combined. It has more pleasant spots for reading than studying than most of the Minuteman libraries, a decent AV selection, and good collections in the parts of the stacks where I spend most of my time (history, politics, sociology, etc). I've studied here, worked here, volunteered here, nodded off while reading here, even been on dates here. It'll always have a special place in my heart. read more

Beautiful facility with plenty of options for books, dvds and cds. Clean and well organized. Several great children's programs- and a lovely children's room. One complaint is the front desk librarians...a little bit rude. Always seems like I am imposing when I ask a question. Might be because they are used to everything being so automated now that when they have to actually have to interact with a patron-it is a burden. read more

Pleasant enough building, shame about the staff. Took my son over for the song/story hour, but wasn't sure where it was being held. Asked for directions and was sarcastically told to follow the sound of the music. Obviously if I'd been able to hear music I'd have figured that out for myself. 4 stars for the facilities, minus 2 for the sneering staff. read more

This is one of my favorite libraries of all time. It's a beautiful building, the staff are always helpful, and you can tell by the filled desks, day and night, summer and winter, that it's a hub of the town! Democracy and education at work! Lovely building, spacious lobby and 2nd floor, with many great features, though the children's area is crowded. Excellent audio and movie collection, and a huge assortment of books. A nice feature - recommended books displayed just inside the entrance, usually new books and popular authors. Never a wait to check out books. If you reserve in advance, there are three quiet and cozy (not very big) private study rooms. There are sometimes good books for sale near the circulation desk. Parking is convenient if you use the indoor garage, which even has an elevator, which I needed. Overall, a superior library. read more
