But, it didn't crack and it was the best job possible with what I had going on with my chips and cracks. Didn't even sell me a new windshield knowing my insurance covers it. WOW! Five stars isn't a high enough rating for this company!…read more I was driving down the highway and a truck kicked up a good sized stone that hit my windshield. I heard the sound of it hitting, but because it hit very low, I didn't see any damage to my windshield. I thought maybe I'd managed to get away without a problem. By the time I arrived home I'd forgotten about the incident. Then two days later the foot-long crack showed up in my windshield. UGH! I called my insurance man and he recommended Precision Auto Glass over the very popular, much advertised, nationwide auto glass company. He said he thought Precision provided a much better quality product. I called Precision, prepared for a long, drawn out, inconvenient ordeal for getting my windshield replaced and paid for. That's when I heard Amber's friendly voice on the phone welcoming me to Precision Auto Glass. I told her about the crack and she told me about the price to replace the windshield. She also mentioned that I needed to get my windshield "calibrated" which would cost a couple hundred more. UGH! I told her I had insurance coverage and she said, "Let me conference your insurance company into this call to get their approval." What?!? I didn't have to do this on my own? She got the insurance company on the phone and they quickly approved the Precision Auto Glass service. All I needed to do was pay $50 when the technician came out to replace my windshield. Ahhhhh. The next day, Adam, from Precision Auto Glass called to let me know he was arriving during the early part of our scheduled service window to do the replacement. He was friendly and professional and I could tell when he started working that he was very skilled at replacing windshields. When he finished I gave him my credit card and paid the $50 insurance deductible. I was immediately contacted by Dynamic Calibration Systems, the company who would do the calibration of the windshield camera. They were ready to come out to do the calibration. The following day worked out better so I arranged to have their technician meet me at my job. The next day, Noah, a charming and very tall technician came to my work to do the calibration on my windshield camera. Thirty minutes later, the whole replacement and calibration process was complete. The only effort on my part was making the initial call to Precision Auto Glass and pulling out my credit card to pay the deductible. I met so many nice, competent people because of this stone hitting my car! Is it odd that I'm almost looking forward to having another crack in my windshield..? :-)

The quality just wasn't there--uneven finish, visible flaws, and overall not what I expected given the price. What made the situation even worse is that the reviews I relied on don't match what I experienced. After dealing with him, it really feels like some of the glowing reviews may not reflect genuine customer experiences, which is frustrating when you're trying to make an informed decision. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I wish someone had warned me. Save your money and go with a reputable, established shop instead.

The pricing communication only came after the work was done, which felt unclear and frustrating. The repair quality was not what I expected: the wheel well body line is crooked, the dent area is wavy, and the paint doesn't match -- it looks matte, almost like there's no clear coat. When I pointed this out, he insisted it looked like the other side (it didn't) and told me I "couldn't expect perfection," which isn't acceptable for "professional" body work. To make things worse, when I picked up my car, the window had been left open during the repair and the interior was covered in toxic dust and debris, so l spent an hour cleaning it out so it was drivable. I paid $800 in cash, but overall the experience was disappointing. I wouldn't have problem paying the $800 if the repair looked acceptable. Now it's going to ultimately cost me more money to have my car repaired correctly. There are better, more reliable options out there with reviews that reflect the quality of work you can expect.
