From the beginning of our project, the team at Morrisons made themselves available to discuss every detail. We had a strict deadline and they made it happen, actually well ahead of the desired date! Ashley was a joy to work with: she showed good judgment and great taste in guiding us to an aesthetically pleasing result. Stephany was efficient with billing and receipts. The builders themselves did neat and beautiful work and we now have a redesigned first floor with the master retreat of our dreams! I have been a very satisfied customer of Steve Morrison and Morrison's Home Improvement for over 30 years. The employees are very knowledgeable, reliable, professional and do great work. Morrison's has replaced the roofs on both my house and garage, reconstructed the front entranceway and installed windows throughout the house. A very detailed proposal/contract is provided before any work is initiated. In addition, Morrison's has a very beautiful showroom in Lenox. We were looking to replace our kitchen counters, backsplash, sink, cooktop and floors. My wife and I drove down to their store to discuss the renovation. They did not listen to what we told them. Instead, they focused on what kinds of kitchen cabinets we should buy and other issues. They told us they would call the next day to arrange a time when someone could come and take photos and measurement. We got no phone call, and the guy showed up unannounced the next day at a time we had told them we would be busy. At that point I decided to find someone else. read more

We were the first to hire Morrison's to build a home in collaboration with Harvest Homes starting in the spring of 2023. After many delays and issues it was completed in June of 2024. Morrison's is big on promotion on promises but not on project management. If you hire them, be prepared to be a full time project manager. Their communication and oversight is mediocre at best. Many problems went unseen and unaddressed until we discovered them and then continued to press them to fix. My husband had to much research to resolve electrical and fireplace issues for example. At one point we also discovered that one of the outside drains wasn't properly installed and there was a foot of water under the house on the foundation. They have a couple of good workers, but some not so much. Our main shower was installed incorrectly allowing water to drain out rather than in. Many issues had to be corrected during our warranty period, including the grout in the primary bathroom which started crumbling again after the warranty and they refused to come back and repair without charging or guaranteeing. Do we love our house? Yes. Only because we had the time and patience to see it through. Would we use them again? Not sure. Also in response to Steve's reply... I know that picking out fixtures does not mean project mgt and it is insulting to insinuate that. We oversaw so much more as indicated above. Communication was an issue with when workers would come and what they would be doing. Workers also told us they did not know when they were coming and often no one would work on the house for many days. Initially we were told the house would be done by November, then February, then April. The changes that occurred along the way were not major. Also will say that Ashley, Stephany and Ray are great to work with. It's not about the grout issue, but it was just the last thing that prompted this review. read more

The owner of this company, Steve, is one of the rudest people we have ever met. We DO NOT recommend working with this company and recommend finding someone else for your construction needs. We had a great deal of damage from solar leaks and our entire kitchen had to be gutted along with two upstairs bedrooms. Anna, kitchen designer, was great to work with and the little dealings we had with Steve's daughter, Stephany, were great. However that's where any semblance that you are dealing with a reputable company ends. Steve actually said "you need to keep your wife in line"! He apologized afterwards but that was the beginning of a really crappy customer service experience. We were told right along we were within budget as we saved a lot of money on cabinets and other things and this credit was being used towards other extras. NEVER were we told that we were 8K over until a bill was presented at the end of the job! Yes, we did pay him in full as much as we felt ripped off. The job started late and finished late. The "project manager" billed for many hours yet we hardly ever saw him. Our kitchen grout is now cracking. We are having issues with our brand new roof. My husband stopped in to chat with Steve about the issues and Steve would NOT even speak with him and actually kicked him out of the store! We found out that most all the employees that were there a year ago have left....must be he** to work for someone like Steve! Please do yourself a favor and find another company to do business with. I can guarantee you that Steve will have some snarky response to this review, but as they say.....the truth hurts!!!! read more

I had them put a roof on; they did a terrible job. I've been trying to get them to fix it, and sometimes Steve sends someone out who looks and agrees with me, and then goes back to Steve who says he will fix it, but he never does. I will be paying for a roof that leaks for years. Steve outright lies to me every time; if he cared about his reputation, he would do the right thing. Do not use this company! read more

Morrison's is highly adept at sales & marketing. The problems come with implementation. They lack a modern organizational structure. They do not assign project managers to individual jobs, no matter how large the job. And their site supervision is almost entirely absent. For a major home renovation job, we had to plead to get someone from Morrison's to periodically visit our job site. The job site was in constant disarray with materials, supplies, appliances, fixtures, manuals, tools, etc. scattered all around the home, even well after the promised delivery date. No effort was made to finish individual rooms sequentially in order to consolidate the work area. Rather than respond to constructive criticism and pleas for more attention to the job, Morrison himself became increasingly belligerent as he stubbornly refused to adapt to a job that he eagerly accepted but couldn't handle. Worse, his mark-up is well above market at 21% on all subcontractors and suppliers. He even marks up his payroll of workman assigned to the job and has the nerve to mark that up a second time at 21% as well. There is no modern billing system or scheduling, it's as if the job is being run in the 1960's. The entire operation is thinly-staffed and overly-dependent on subcontractor relationships. In sum, the workmanship was generally good; the job management and client relations were terrible. read more

We were interested in a complete kitchen renovation. The designer came to our home and we discussed what we wanted to do. We had a feeling it was not as "up market" as they like, but this was not our first renovation project and we knew what we needed and wanted. No one got back to us for almost 2 months. We first sought out Morrison's in December of 2017 for help with a leaky inefficient gas fireplace in our Lenox condo that was bringing cold air into the living room. They installed insulation and a powerful new fireplace that keeps us wonderfully warm. Our next problem was a kitchen with little storage space and a dated look. Morrison's designer Anna came up with a design that met our needs perfectly. In the winter of 2019, Morrison's installed everything for the new kitchen - cabinetry, sink, appliances, lighting, quartz countertop, tile backsplash, as well as changes to wallpaper and flooring. Installers Steve and Les did a remarkable job and were highly personable, cleaning up at the end of each day. The end-result is both beautiful and highly functional. We now have ample storage and no longer have to hunt endlessly for ingredients, pots and pans, and utensils - everything is well organized and at our fingertips. We have had many compliments from both friends and neighbors. We highly recommend Morrison's! read more

After much consideration we chose Morrison's home improvement to be our contractor for a new deck and a new kitchen. We started with the deck in October 2017 thinking we knew exactly the design we wanted, but after talking with Steve and Brian, our on-site contractors, we went with an entirely different design. The decking and the railing were so well crafted that we did not have to make even one change. This was due to a variety of suggestions by Steve and Brian for which we are very grateful. In January of 2018 we started with a new kitchen, including new cabinets, back-splash, counter tops, and flooring. Any questions we asked, they were already one step ahead of us and had the work done the way we needed it. Their tile working and grouting is flawless and beautiful. The new flooring was laid in a day and then covered in heavy paper for its protection. The finished kitchen is exactly how we pictured it and crafted beautifully. Steve and Brian arrived every morning on time, worked all day long sometimes without lunch and when they left they cleaned up, everything indoors and out was spotless. Morrison's Home Improvement installed a new GAF Timberline HD roof this past fall on our wooded summer home in the Berkshires. We also contracted them to install a replacement wood stove chimney system. We found everyone associated with Morrison's to be responsive, attuned to our needs, excellent at explaining details and superior at their craftsmanship. All of the staff (sales, field and office) were a pleasure to work with (every company should be this way!). The craftspeople showed up promptly, protected the perimeter of the property and did a beautiful job with the installation. The clean up process was perfect, too. Top to bottom, they're a terrific company to deal with, and right here in Western Mass. And now... we enjoy the security of a new roof, a safe chimney and compliments from friends! Just had Morrisons come out to give me a quote on some windows. Sales rep got there early and took it upon himself to go ahead and measure my Windows without me.. That was ok, I guess. But it quickly became obvious that this guy was high or drunk or something. He looked like he was falling asleep even as we discussed prices. When I asked him about it, he became belligerent and started yelling. My kids were watching all this happen too. I finally had to almost physically throw this guy off my property. Would never call these people again for anything!! read more

Had them remove and install a new bay window in our 1970's Berkshire home. Great window with great professionalism and good price. Good follow-up to complete the last few pieces. Would be happy to use them again. Small enough to talk with the owner of the company. Large enough to get large jobs done well. read more

Terrible workmanship. They were late to start the job and tried to get me to use other products than specified in the bid. Ruined my existing siding when "fixing" dry rot above a window. Just slapped up a board and called it fixing dry rot. Avoid them at all costs! read more
