It was late in the day because the original company I called was a no-show. Chicago Locksmiths said they could do it and gave me a same day time window. Excellent communication: The technician called me at the start of the time window to tell me he was on another job, but would be there within 2 hours. This allowed me to get on with my day rather than waiting by the window/the phone (as the other company had left me to do all day). The technician then called me when he had finished the previous job and gave me a time frame of when he would get to me. As it was quite late I decided to reschedule for the next day. The same evening Chicago Locksmiths called me to confirm a next day appointment time. On the morning of my appointment the new technician called to say he was on his way with an ETA for arrival and called when he reached me. The communication was excellent and meant I could do other things because I knew Chicago Locksmith was keeping me updated on the status of my appointment. For the appointment itself, the technician was great. Explained everything, gave me advice on one of the doors which was coming loose off the hinge. Re-keyed my lock quickly and cleaned up afterwards. I will certainly use Chicago Locksmiths again. Great service, and impeccable customer communication!

Perhaps he is of Irish heritage, I never had the opportunity to find out 1) I have seen over 300 photographs of his work This man is the very BEST if you are only looking for a handyman or have no assistance from even an essentially useless husband in the paint or a long hair clogged shower drain 2) Shay is a LIAR I appreciate that he was willing to drive out to The suburbs of Chicago from all the way East in Logan Square His estimate is NOT free as Yelp guaranteed He requires photographs (easy peasy) of the locks as well as *$45* to even come out to take a look He broke the Yelp Guarantee right there Chicago Locksmiths should be banned from Yelp same as nobody should have voted for Trump. There were zero good choices but at least ond was NOT a babbling dementia suffering 90 yeat old 3) Shay claims the his primary concern is home and auto safety If that were actually true then with photos in hand he has zero reason to have a $45 fee to take a look I have zero reason to take issue with Shay - especially his quality of work All that I know is that Shay LIED to Yelp in order to gain business and if that works for him, then I do not give a fxck I shall not be used I have Elite and All-Star status that I EARNED with Yelp and followers Every single one of my Yelp reviews are shared with Google I sincerely hope that my review discourages anybody and everybody from hiring Chicago Locksmiths

We have had two small issues since then (not to do with the quality of work, just minor snafus) and Don responded to me right away and helped me fix the problem. These guys will be my first call the next time I need anything like this.

This review is also about their tech support which we had to call for a lot in the past year: first to upgrade our system as we put it in 18 years ago; and then because we remodeled our basement so they had to come out a few times to deal with construction dust setting things off, moving motion detectors when walls were moved, adding new window contacts etc. Two of their service techs specifically are amazing: Gus and Mara. I feel extremely lucky when they send either of them out. Especially Mara. She stands out as being the most competent service tech - of *any company* I have ever dealt with. She assesses the situation, makes recommendations for better solutions, advocates for the customer if needed, and then executes the solution flawlessly, efficiently, quickly. Again shout out to Gus who is A+ but I have to give Mara an A++!

Anyone can come in as they please. They do not check in packages properly, fight with residents who have medicine or other time-sensitive supplies delivered daily and disappear for hours at a time. They do not care about their employees and if they do anythign that they tell you is for the benefit of the employee, it turns out to be a lie. Everything is for their benefit only. They contracted with a very predatory so-called insurance supplement company that is one step above being a scam because it benefits the EMPLOYER and NOT the employee, though they will lie and say it does. They CANNOT keep an employee for more than a month or two because they all quit. Turnover is at a ridiculous rate so they just hire anyone with a pulse. It is AMAZINGINGLY ridiculous that any company would contract with them for SECURITY service based on their methods and type of ppl they hire. No, I do not work for this company but know of their tactics personally. Stay away from them and just look at their ratings here on Yelp. That says it all!

Once I got the computer home, it crashed once the game was being played and they said they did everything they could and I was out of luck. I decided months later to see Adam at nerd rangers. He was very thorough in gaining background on the issue. He asked me whether the other repair shop tried to run the actual game? I was not sure so he went ahead and loaded Fortnite and said he would do his best to replicate the issue. Later that day he reached out to let me know that he believes he found the reason the game crashed (as it did for him) and he felt confident that he fixed the issue. When I went to pick up the computer he reassured me that if for some reason the fix didn't work he would continue to work with me to identify the problem. Happy to report that I've run multiple games with zero crashes and everything is running fine. The level of service, detailed questions and customer care was excellent. Thanks Adam!
