I always enjoy coming here. An impressive variety of plants, a section filled with roses, a great assortment of soil and amendments. Beautiful and fun Decorative pieces, water features, and the cherry on top has to be the fact that their staff is friendly, informative, and not pushy when it comes to sales. It's been a bit since last visit, but as of my last visit, they have a resident cat who can be seen lounging around. I got holy basil last time I was there, which was exciting because I don't find it anywhere else locally as a live plant. I almost expected to pay a premium for it, but it was fair for sure. Some things are higher in price, but you get what you pay for, so as far as that goes, quality is found at this nursery. Worth exploring if you've never gone. read more

Customer service is always top tier you'll always be asked at least once if you're finding everything you're looking for. They have a small amount of California native plants as well that I personally prefer to plant in my yard to support our local ecosystems hoping to see more come spring! Lovely local nursery they have everything you could need. read more

Such a cool nursery. They have a wide selection of house plants, outdoor plants, trees and flowers. The service was great! They were helpful in answering any questions we had. I was debating whether or not to buy a succulent I saw, they encouraged my decision to buy it! The value of the plants is good. The plants seem happy and healthy. I purchased my first small air plant ($5.95) and of course the succulent ($7.95)!! read more

I LOVE this nursery! This is where I go to ask any questions about plant or tree care. David - the older gentleman- he might even be the owner? has an abundance of knowledge. He is a bit introverted, but is such an expert. I'm not sure if he's still there or if he retired. Everyone else is also very helpful and knowledgeable. Their indoor store is one of my favorites! From their plants to gifts to the best Christmas tree/Ornament shopping during the holiday, there is so much to see! It was one of my favorite places to get quality gifts for my grandmother, who had mostly everything she needed so I had to look for special, unique gifts. It's a little bit more pricey at this place, but well worth it, in my opinion. The quality of service and the quality of plants is bar none. Come check it out if you are in the market for plants and or trees - you won't be disappointed! read more

Morris Nursery is the best! I've been a customer since their very beginning. Never a disappointment! I grew up in Modesto and moved to Murphys in 1989. I still find myself driving 'down the hill' to Morris to find the perfect plants for my garden spaces! The customer service is outstanding along with such a great selection/variety of healthy trees/plants. Thank you, Morris Nursery/Garden, continued awesomeness! read more

My family has been buying many, many plants of all kinds from this nursery for decades. They are a great place go and see all the beautiful options and displays, plus they have a wonderful staff. read more

Great Plant Nursery, Found Everything I Needed! I had a great experience at this nursery! It's huge and had all the plants I've been searching for, silver dollar eucalyptus, white lavender, and even Meyer lemon dwarf trees (which are so hard to find!). While the lemon trees were currently out of stock, the staff took down my name and number to call me when they get more in, which I really appreciated. I usually shop at a plant store in Stockton, but this place might become my new go-to. I had seen some older reviews mentioning bad customer service, but that definitely wasn't our experience. My boyfriend and I were helped by super friendly and knowledgeable staff, even though we came in close to closing time. Overall, a great experience, I'll definitely be back to buy more plants! read more

This is an update. I waited for their designer landscaper to come and work on new landscaping. She came twice with her notebook and then I never heard from her again. I was really ready to invest in new plants and ideas. Grover did my landscaping years ago. It was so beautiful it ended up in the front page of the Modesto Bee home page as a before and after. It had been years and it was time to redo. I love this nursery and have always given it a 5 star review. What happened? That would have been a big project. But....I reached out to another company. read more

Beautiful nursery and very well taken care of! Lupe is friendly and knowledgeable. He assisted me with anything I needed. Will be returning to place an order for our garden. read more

I have asked to be added to their yearly coupon list several years in a row now, so they take down my info and nothing ever changes. I come every year. It is a huge bummer. Everyone knows Morris is not cheap! However, I do enjoy the vegetable plants they have in the summer, specifically the shishito peppers and other interesting varieties. They always do well in my garden. This place is very clean and fun to shop around at. read more

2.5/10 stars let me tell you why. First off beautiful place full of plants very overpriced for trees there is no reason it should be $60 for a tree, lady at the front desk was super slow and racist. read more

First visit from Modesto and we found a wonderful and varied selection of plants and garden extras. The service was top notch and the owner was knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. We also found out that all this comes at a price. We are hoping the advice was worth the extra money and we will probably visit again, looking for some good deals. read more

Very helpful and informative staff. They are qualified to make suggestions and do a great job taking care of the plants. They also have a large selection and will order more if they are out read more

So i try to support a local business and i go to get some plants for the garden. The pepper i bought had chewed up leaves (all of the ones i wanted so i picked the one with the least amount) i go to ring up and asked him what is eating your peppers. He said caterpillars. He said i could buy a bottle $20 to spray it. He also said they treat all their plants weekly. So i did. I get them home and put them in the garage till i can plant them. All the plants are infested with fungus gnats. Ugh..I'm returning all of it. read more

I cannot believe I have never reviewed my beloved Morris Nursery. The quality of their plants, trees and shrubs are beyond measure. Their staff is knowledgeable and caring for all your questions. I have visited this great local nursery for many years and all my trees have thrived. The crew will help load your vehicle and they are always friendly whether its a rainy day or 100+F weather. I sure miss their orange kitty Fred. He made the place! If I were to give a tip- if you are looking for a specific bare root tree, always place the order sometime in the fall or early winter so its guaranteed for you. I did this for a specific variety of apricot and also for an avocado variety tree I wanted. I am always pleased with their service. Last winter I finally joined them on one of their free workshops-- I learned so much! They even gave you a brief summary of the workshop so we can take home, I still use it as a pruning guide. read more

We purchased 3 white birch trees a few months ago. One looks great the other two didn't make it. I called Morris Nursery to see if they had any warranty but she told me if we had purchased the soil and fertilizer at the time they could do something about our dead trees. Unfortunately we were not informed about that policy at the time we purchased the trees. Their prices are high enough that you would think they could replace the trees. read more

I've been wanting to visit this place and finally had an opportunity when a friend had a wedding in the area. Staff is friendly. I am more interested in the indoor houseplant selection. It was a nice variety of basic and harder to find plants. read more

Great help selecting plants and helping with planting and care information. The kind of service that is rare and wonderful.

A polite and helpful staff . Beautiful Christmas displays and an attractive model train display . An enjoyable visit.

Perfect place for all your plant needs! Great customer service and good quality products

The girl at the counter was very brisk and unfriendly and it continued through the store. N thank you we won't be back

knowledgeable staff, very helpful, friendly staff. First time and now repeat customer . Great place

My favorite nursery in the area! The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and if they don't know something they'll find the answer for you. I get my fertilizer and soil amendments here because they always can direct me to what's best. All you have to do is ask. I'm a hobby gardener who only has a few seasons under my belt so I really appreciate their expertise. I like to buy my herb plants here as well and they are always very healthy! I've been going here since 2018 and I'm never disappointed. read more

I just called on some plants that didn't make it and they have no warranty and because the lady on the phone was very rude. I'll never shop there and I'll tell all my neighborhood never to shop there. Very upset read more

After going to Ace, Home Depot, we realized we forgot Morris Nursery. We were looking for a tall indoor plant for our house. We asked to have someone meet us in the area and she shared some options. The staff member also called Ron to come and assist as we had added questions as we were looking for pots too. Ron was very helpful and went over the top. He helped get our items to the truck and even climbed up and helped with loading it. Thanks Ron for the amazing customer service and going above and beyond! Now a days you don't come across people like you! read more

Having an employee come up to me and get in my face about the price of an item was such an odd experience. I didn't ask; I was just carrying this item around while we continued shopping. Having her rudely grab the item from my hand when I told her I would put it back was another odd experience. I can see why this place is getting so many bad reviews about the rudeness of their employees. read more

I find that the customer service here is terrible. I've visited on three different occasions lately and I have the same feeling of being a nuisance to them when I ask for some help. I used to visit this place with my mother long time ago and it was a pleasant experience. Now I will never go back. No matter what. I'd rather travel further to have a better experience whilst spending my money. Not sure what changed. But it wasn't a good change. read more

I was able to find what I was looking for. Morris always is helpful and supplies the healthiest plants. I am never dissatisfied

Exceptional customer service! I am very new to fruit tree maintenance. I walked in today with a few questions and in need of some supplies and walked out with a ton of knowledge (and even some diagrams) about pruning, fertilizing, and correcting some current problems. Jeff offered the level of service that creates lifetime customers. I should also mention that they have a gorgeous selection of pots/planters! read more

I called this nursery because I have a juvenile giant sequoia that needed to be transplanted, and I was also worried about possible root rot. I spoke with an employee who told me he would personally transplant my sequoia for me. I took my baby sequoia in today and Josh did an awesome job putting him into and new terracotta pot. I am super happy, and I'm sure my plant to happy too! (This plant is my baby.) The people here and super friendly, and definitely know their stuff if they are knowledgeable about a tree that doesn't naturally grow in this climate. I'm very happy with my experience and knew I had to leave a yelp review (which is something I rarely do.) I guess it's just nice to know that there are still good people out there who care and take pride in their work. Thanks Josh you rock! read more
