    Lindeheimer's Globeberry!

Honestly the best stop for succulent/cacti plant lovers on a roadtrip to Tahoe/Mammoth. Some of my favorite caudiciform plants are from here. Monkey chair, Lindheimer's Globeberry... Their golf ball plant on display is always jaw dropping to look at. Their custom store cups in the gift store are adorable with cork bottoms. The display garden is always very cool to walk around in. Staff/employees really know their stuff/very nice to talk to/not pushy.

What and amazing place. If you've never stopped-be sure to stop or make a special trip. We had a team-building succulent terrarium class-where we made adorable terrariums, learned about the succulents, how to feed and water and keep them growing-they will even bloom! Lite refreshments were served. And we had an adorable terrarium to take home with us. It was so relaxing and fun. The atmosphere, grounds and coi pond were lovely, it may look small, but we could have spent hours walking the green house, shade area and grounds. The cactus were just starting to bloom and they were beautiful. It was a mini botanical garden. We got to speak with the owners who began their collection and love of succulents and cactus with some cuttings and a look at someone's collection over 50 years ago. They were so knowledgeable about growing conditions and the names of all the cactus. She told us so much about the cactus and succulents-really a special experience. Perfect place to bring the family-watch out for the spines. A gem of a place! Highly recommended! They even have their own special blend of soil and fertilizer-will help any succulent or cactus flower.

Amazing selection of plants! Very good prices and the employees are super friendly and helpful too.

    Really cool estate sized cactus!

We made a special trip to buy 2 cactuses for two special friends. There are many varieties to choose from but cactus will produce some of the most awesome flowers on earth, if they are happy. We had over 50 flowers on one plant that bloomed up until the end of fall. The small little round clusters in the bowl are over 45 years old. After shopping here for years, I highly recommend Poot's when considering your landscaping project. We have bought more than a few plants here to put in our front yard. Check it out!

    What a beauty!

Stopped here on a road trip, after hearing about how awesome their house blend cactus soil is, along with what a nice, small nursery they have. Granted, this was mid January, so I wasn't sure there would be much to chose from. I was wrong, granted there were some empty places in their tables. Nursery itself is on property that has an actual older and beautiful home on. The front yard is adorned with mature, old cacti, agaves, and succulents. The plants are so mature, healthy they are mesmerizing! Since I've never seen plants this large and established, my head was spinning from their beauty. They have a semi enclosed greenhouse area where the have a gorgeous cacti exhibit that was worth the trip in itself. I saw plants that literally blew my mind that I've never seen Before. They have a great selection of plants to purchase, some are very rare and hard to find, and some I've never seen before. I bought some beauties to take home and 4 big bags of soil. I wish I could have bought more plants! I also would like to add that the staff here is stellar!! What a fun place to visit!

Have been wanting to come here for years and regret not coming sooner! A wide selection of Cacti I've never seen before, from nano to almost 10 feet tall! The man at the check out was helpful in giving watering and repotting tips :)

Poot's Cactus Nursery is a wonderful place to go to for a day trip.....even if you don't own any cactus! I call Poot's "The Cactus Museum and Nursery". It's the experience of all the amazing cacti that draws you into the nursery. I was amazed and inspired at all the beautiful flowers these amazing cactus produce. Poot's is a must see!

Poots cactus nursery is such a beautiful store that has the most unique plants. They have a huge variety of succulents and cacti. It's also such a great place to do some exploring. Beware that their parking lot is a bit small. They have an indoor and outdoor area filled with plants to purchase and view. It's like a plant museum in the indoor area. They also have an outdoor water fountain area to the left of the store where they have the most beautiful cactus arranged around the fountain and pathway. I will be sure to come back to this nursery for all of my succulent plant needs

Although the "bad" reviews are far and few in between, reading them compelled me to write this one: Poot's is a gem and sanctuary up here. There is no other nursery in the area that even comes close in terms of the love, dedication, thoughtfulness, selection, and affordability that Poot's integrates into every aspect of their operation (other than maybe The Dry Garden or Ruth Bancroft). It's unfortunate that certain people approach businesses with such a sense of entitlement that they become completely ignorant of the fact that the individuals that stand before them are in fact human beings as well. I will never subscribe to the expectation of service workers to be completely subservient to the customer. Everyone has their ups and downs. Good days and bad days. Different personalities. If nothing is blatantly ignorant or rude, you're here for the beautiful garden and unheard of selection of plants. I don't believe a single review on here that claims that their selection "isn't that great" or "their priced too high". I can guarantee you would be paying a whoooole lot more for a slightly bigger plant. It's not only a rare opportunity to buy a lot of these plants, but it's also a rare opportunity to be able to see so many hard grown, perfectly aged specimen sized cacti and succulents. Not only in their front yard, but all around you while you browse their indoor area. Not even the botanical gardens have some of these!!!! In short, GET ON THE POOTS TRAIN OR GET THE ***HECK*** OUT OF THE WAY. YOU'RE ENTERING GOD'S TERRITORY NOW!!!!! MHMM THATS RIGHT

On my day off, Joe K and I decided to take a little road trip towards Modesto, CA. Joe had discovered on a Yelp search, some interesting businesses along the way that really sparked our interest. Poot's Cactus Nursery was one of the places that were high on our list. We love caring for cactus and succulents, and have our own small garden in the back yard. After a nice relaxing drive, we eventually came upon this nursery. The first thing we did when we entered the front yard was, walk the path through a beautiful and awe inspiring cactus garden containing some of the most gorgeous and unique giants I had ever seen! Each plant was amazing and healthy in it's own right. I felt like we were wandering through a fantasy land or another planet. It appeared that we were actually at a residence that expanded into it's own cactus business. Looked like a great idea to be at home and work at the same time! After exploring the front yard, we went into the sales section where there is a covered driveway area containing rows upon rows of tables with smaller versions of plants and cuttings. There were so many varieties of cactus's and succulents to choose from. The prices were very reasonable on most of them. Further into the back yard, they have a huge hot house with more plants that was not open to the public. But we were able to enter another hot house near the front of the property, that had even more selections! Some specimens were only on display, but most were for sale. There was so much to see and make decisions on, that we easily spent not only money, but a couple of hours here! We had a nice time exploring every inch of this place. I hope to return again for another road trip!

This place is like no other I've been to. It's really pretty (and this is from a girl who really doesn't care too much for cactus or succulents). The owners did a really an incredible job with the display of tall cacti from walking up to the entrance to the room where you can purchase a bunch of different cacti/succulents. The pictures does no justice. I was in awe. I was looking for stapelias and although they didn't have any, one of the guy was able to find me a huernia which was similar. They sell their own cactus soil for $10, and a small bag of cacti fertilizer for $5. Although the prices of those are a little more expensive than what I can find in a chain store, if it can make my new found plants as big as theirs, I'd fork up the extra money. I highly recommend visiting this place.

I love this place! They have lots of unique and rare plants. Mostly cactus and succulents. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and the whole place is so mesmerizing.

If you love cactuses and succulents, you owe it to yourself to take a drive to Poots. It is a great day outing if you live in Sacramento like we do. You will be in complete awe the moment you drive up to the place, I guarantee it. You probably will have never seen so many varieties of large cactuses in one setting in your life. Once you have experienced their mind shattering garden, you can again be completely amazed by the hundreds of varieties of cactuses and succulents they have for sale. Now that you have a basket full of cactuses and succulents you have never seen any place else before, it is time to find the cash register. Oh wait, there's more; a whole inside conditioned area with even more amazing plants that you may have never seen before. Oh boy; what to do? You can't buy one of everything; or can you?

When I entered the office, no one had their masks on. I asked to open an account and had a receipt for my seller's permit which included my permit number. They turned me away saying that I needed my actual certificate. When I asked the woman at the front desk, where I could obtain a copy of my certificate since I was not sent one in the mail, she did not know. The other woman present who I assume is responsible for opening accounts then told me "Department of Equalization". When I asked if there was a way for me to print it at their office they told me no. I then asked to briefly view the will-call area of plants to get an idea of inventory and was also told no. After persisting that it would be a quick peek in and it was important to see their availability before opening a business account, the woman finally agreed to radio down to the will-call area to see if I could view. She finally agreed to let me see the plants and was very adamant about me not taking any longer than 5 minutes because the employee in the will-call section was "very busy and has stuff to do". When I arrived to will-call, the woman there was EXTREMELY nice, told me I could take my time and would answer ANY questions that I have and was literally the only employee I interacted with that was kind and helpful. After driving almost 2 hours to get to the nursery, and driving another 2 hours back, I came to find out that all I had to do was log into my online account to print the certificate. How does a business which operates by opening accounts presumably almost every day not know this?
