I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this salon.
I came in for a balayage and showed a clear reference photo of the blonde and brown look I wanted. Before starting, the stylist and salon owner told me the result might be slightly more brown than the photo, which I was fine with. What I was not expecting was for my hair to turn a coppery red color that looked nothing like the balayage I requested.
Before the appointment even began, I asked how much the balayage would cost. After seeing my hair, the owner told me it would be an additional $100 because she planned to use more toner than originally expected. I agreed to the additional charge based on her professional recommendation. Ironically, the final result was the coppery, brassy color that I was unhappy with, which I believe resulted from the toning process.
When I expressed my concerns, I was told to wash it for a couple of weeks and come back if I still wasn't happy. After a week, the color had not improved, so I contacted the salon and was told to return for a correction.
The correction appointment was even more frustrating. When I arrived at my scheduled appointment time, I was initially told to come back later. After insisting that I had an appointment, I was finally taken. Instead of personally correcting the work herself, the owner had another stylist working on my hair while she directed the process.
During the correction appointment, the owner's attention was divided among multiple clients. While another stylist worked on my hair, the owner frequently moved between stations assisting other customers. Much of the discussion about my hair was conducted between the owner and the other stylist rather than directly with me, which left me feeling excluded from decisions being made about my own hair.
I then spent another four hours in the salon while multiple attempts were made to fix the color. The situation became worse, not better. My hair went from copper to a mix of several different shades, including blonde, brown, chocolate, and copper tones. At one point, the owner seemed genuinely concerned that she might not be able to correct the problem. Several different toners and color corrections were applied during the appointment, but the final result still looked nothing like a balayage.
What bothered me most was the lack of accountability. Instead of acknowledging that the result was far from what I requested, the owner blamed my hair and told me I should be grateful because she used additional products and chemicals without charging me for the correction. I don't believe customers should be expected to be thankful for corrective work that became necessary because the original service did not achieve the requested result.
This was actually the second time I had issues with color services from this stylist. Based on my experiences, I cannot recommend this salon for balayage or color correction services. I invested significant time, money, and trust into the process and ended up with hair that looked far worse than when I started.
One final thing that surprised me was that, during the correction appointment, the owner even suggested that we ask ChatGPT what to do next because she was struggling to correct the color. That was not something I expected to hear from someone advertising herself as an experienced color specialist. By the end of the appointment, my hair still looked nothing like the balayage I had requested.
