Strawberry Orange Juice

Lovely diner walking distance from my hotel in Scottsdale and the old town area. Was able to be sat immediately and was recommended their freshly squeezed orange juice and the hangover bowl. Service was quick and friendly. Would recommend

Butter Cake French Toast
Mary C.

Yall the French toast here is a must! I have been trying to branch out and try items I wouldn't normally get and as someone who is not a big fan of French toast I can see myself coming back for that dish here which is impressive. It is pricey however one serving of French toast lasted me two meals so it feels worth it to me especially since it is quite delish.

Lemon blueberry pancakes

Great breakfast place. Looks like old-school diner. Good variety. I Chose the lemon blueberry pancakes. Bring your appetite. 4 good size pancakes full of blueberries. Lemon zest topping was full of flavor. Pancakes were moist. Service was quick and friendly. I'll be back.

Butter Cake French Toast

Food was decent. I ordered the butter cake french toast (looked a bit smaller in portion with the berries than others I saw). Came with a large party for brunch over the weekend and our server was nice and came around a few times to check in. The interior was smaller but had a bustling loud atmosphere. It was a bit hard to hear at times due to the noise levels, but perhaps we came at a busy time.

mimosa flight

Wanted to try a new spot for breakfast. I'd ray prices were on the higher side but average for scottsdale. My husband & I shared a mimosa flight, came in some cute glasses. Can't really go wrong with flavor here so it was tasty. Our server was friendly, had good menu knowledge. He dropped off the wrong meal to me and when i pointed it out he took it from me and gave it to the table behind mine & then took mine off their table and gave it to me... kinda weird. I ordered the Hangover bowl, it was ok, probably wouldn't order again. the hash browns had the same texture as spaghetti and I was basically "slurping" them up. My husband had a Benedict, he said it was delicious. Great flavor and good portion.

Avocado Toast and side of Canadian Bacon

We came here one morning after a great workout and before heading on a day trip! I absolutely love their setup with a large wrap around bar that sits both inside and outside. Their outside seating looks right out onto the strip and has heaters. We sat looking out on old town under a heater. They have a great coffee menu but I had already had one. Our waiter was also the hostess so she was busy but did great for being busy. I had the chicken and waffles with a side of bacon. The side of bacon was perfectly crispy and you got three big thick pieces! The chicken and waffles was AMAZING. The chicken was a big portion and their breading was phenomenal. It had a peppered seasoning that paired well. I also love how this dish came with eggs and you did not have to order them as a side. The eggs came perfectly over medium. I'm glad because sometimes they're not and too runny. The waffle was also thick and crispy but fluffy. Not too crunchy or too soft. My husband had the avocado toast and a side of Canadian bacon. The Canadian bacon was a good size and he enjoyed. The avocado toast was also a great portion. He only wished there was less arugula! I would definitely come back!!

Chai tea,parfait and blueberry bread

The food was great we sat out on the patio because we had our pups but was definitely good the pups approved of there food that was ordered as well was a great meal for them

Corned Beef Hash

Came in this morning for a business breakfast and arrived right when they opened. Parked right in front on Scottsdale Rd as we were the first guests here. Let me start by saying the service was absolutely amazing and above and beyond. I have zero complaints in this area. We had several servers checking in on us all the time and really accommodated every order including one of our guys showing up late(15 minutes) and still getting his food at the same time. This review is my food and food only that I received which was the "In house home made corn beef hash". This isn't true homemade hash; their in house corn beef is literally can corn beef mixed with hash browns made in house that were super dry. It gave me the full Alpo can dog food vibes. I would be embarrassed if this was legit considered home made because it's honestly not even close to that. This is my staple of breakfasts go to's, so when a place says it's home made even after asking the waitress and you get shocked with its can beef heated up....sorry not sorry to say it's absolutely TRASH!!! The two stars is for the servers which were a 5 out of 5 stars on their end but disappointed on the so called in house home made non sense. Not saying stay away from here as the others in my group loved their food; but as a far as corn beef hash is........ The food (corn beef hash) is what landed a 2 star review here.

Banging breakfast sammie

The granola crunch French toast was amazing and massive! Very worth it!! My boyfriend got the breakfast Sammie and said it was also amazing

Avocado toast

I had a lovely brunch here with my best friend last weekend. The service was great. Our waitress was attentive and patient with us as we sometimes are hard of hearing. The fresh juice and fresh coffee hit the spot. I had the avocado toast and added poached eggs, which were perfectly cooked. The portion size is very generous, and we took some home with us. The restaurant itself has a beautiful outdoor seating area as well as plentiful indoor seating.

OBSESSED with the food here and the easy going vibe. It's definitely family friendly but they have alcoholic beverages as well which are fab. The food is just unreal! My friends and I stuffed our faces and left happy with bellies full.

Breakfast

New to phoenix and since had a break I wanted a Bloody Mary with breakfast. Well BINGO. Fabulous Bloody Mary and fabulous avocado toast. Now mind you this is a usual for me but not all bloody Mary's and avocado toast are created equally! In the area you would be a fool not to brunch here! By the way nothing like an amazing waitress like Sheila!

When I told the server, he replaced it, but didn't give everyone new glasses. Only me. My friend ordered a wrap and asked for it to be gluten free. The person who brought the food told her that it was gluten free. The server, who had taken the order, came back and told her it wasn't gluten free. He told her he'd replace it and take it off of her bill. It took her forever to get the new wrap. And when she got the bill, he hadn't removed it from her tab.

SENTRY - WATCHING RESTAURANTS Butters Pancakes and Cafe…read more8300 N. Hayden Road Scottsdale, 85258 We were going to the Maricopa County Home Show at Westworld and needed to have some breakfast first. This is located about 3 miles from there. Other reviewers all noted that the place is usually packed, and today was no exception. However, the line to get in moves quite fast and we only waited about 10 minutes. When we were called for our table, we were given menus and fresh ice cold glasses of water were on the table. This restaurant is known for having fresh squeezed orange and/or grapefruit juice, so that was the first thing that was ordered. There is a machine loaded with oranges in the front, and the juice was a real treat. Companion ordered coffee, and I ordered a cappuccino, which came in a large (proper) cup with a lovely head of foamed milk on top. For the main courses, companion ordered steel cut oatmeal which came with little cups of brown sugar and raisins. Companion totally enjoyed the large bowl. For myself, I ordered french toast topped with apple/cinnamon glaze. It was delicious, but I could not possibly finish it. I felt so sorry for it to not be eaten, but I had to leave it! There are many servers on the floor and it became apparent that they all covered for each other. As for the food, they must have a dozen cooks in the back because as crowded as it was, our food came out quickly and really hot. I'm glad I don't get to this area often, because I'd blow up like a balloon with the quality of this food. Sanitation was as it should be, and the noise level was acceptable. 5 stars Sentry - Restaurant Reviews Tempe, Arizona 85282 Find us on Yelp, Google, and all around the world. Stop what you're doing and go to Butters. Seriously. Whatever plans you had for breakfast, cancel…read morethem. Tell your family you love them, grab your car keys, and prepare to experience what happens when someone takes pancakes entirely too seriously... in the best possible way. Here's the most important advice I can give you about this restaurant... GET THE PANCAKES. Ordering a hash? Get pancakes. Omelet? Pancakes. Breakfast sandwich? Believe it or not... pancakes. Ordering pancakes? Congratulations, you're halfway there. Get more pancakes. Luckily, Butters seems to understand that pancakes are not simply a breakfast item but a fundamental human right, so most dishes offer them as a side option. Take that option. Every. Single. Time. These fluffy little discs of happiness are absolutely delicious. I don't know what they're putting in the batter, but I'm reasonably confident it involves butter, magic, and at least one ingredient the FDA hasn't gotten around to investigating yet. The rest of the experience was excellent too. The staff was friendly, attentive, and kept my coffee flowing at a rate that suggested they were either genuinely concerned about my hydration or actively trying to see how much caffeine a middle-aged man could consume before achieving the ability to hear colors. One warning... this place gets PACKED. Apparently the secret is out, and half of Scottsdale has already discovered the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Pancakes. Get there early or prepare to wait. But trust me, it's worth it. Butters is fantastic. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, and pancakes that deserve their own national holiday. Now stop reading this review and go get some pancakes. And don't forget to order pancakes with your pancakes.

The six of us were seated across from the bar, and it was HOT . I started sweating and needed to use the menus as a fan and drink water to try and cool off. The restaurant had already been open for almost 2 hours, so I am not sure why it was so hot inside (others in our party were hot too, so I wasn't just me). Positives are the restaurant's beach decor and the hamburgers. Several people in our party ordered burgers, and they were cooked to perfection and the fries were really good! Negatives are very few seafood menu options and the fish tacos were terrible. They were drowning in a mayonnaise based slaw. The corn tortillas were really fresh and tasty, but when I bit into my taco I could mostly only taste mayonnaise and the pickled onions. Our friends even made an unsolicited comment that my tacos did not look good. Luckily, I selected fries as my side, because they were the best thing on my plate. With a name like Montauk, and the beach decor, I expected more fresh seafood options on the menu. More than half the menu was not seafood (Mediterranean platter, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, brussels sprouts, salads, etc.). Unfortunately, Montauk does not live up to the hype.

We both got skinny margaritas, and they were really good. You could actually taste the tequila and fresh ingredients rather than an overly sweet margarita mix. We both ordered the Breakfast Burrito for $14, which comes with housemade chicken sausage, roasted potatoes, scrambled eggs, green chilis, mozzarella, cheddar, and fire-roasted tomato salsa. We also got ketchup on the side. The burrito was delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff explained that they focus on fresh, locally sourced, high-quality ingredients, and you could definitely taste the quality. The ambiance was great too. I loved the wood details throughout the restaurant, everything looked clean and well maintained, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. My only disappointment is that there isn't an Amelia's closer to me because I would absolutely visit often. I hope they're able to maintain the quality and local feel because the food, ingredients, service, and atmosphere really stood out. Definitely looking forward to coming back!

The place was buzzing with loud electronic music and tons of people dining -- I think because the ceiling is so high the noise is amplified. Because it was so busy it took a while for the server to come over but he did with waters which was nice but then the menus are all on QR codes -- which is annoying because it is hard to look at everything and because the menu is very confusing it would have been nice to see everything on paper. The menu is confusing because the selections are very odd -- I thought it was a mexican-asian/sushi fusion restaurant -- which I guess it is but it was still really hard to create the best food experience when I couldn't see everything available. My friend was hungry so she immediately put in an order for calamari and I was being called to order the blood orange margarita slushie. When the margarita came it was like nothing I have ever seen before. It looked more like a milkshake or like a creamsicle. I dove in thinking it would be too sweet but it was actually quite delicious and I sucked it back in a second! Also I put in an order for the edamame which sounded really good in the description -- "woodfired" and spicy miso butter -- but when they came they were really spicy and the woodfired element was making me cough, strangely enough -- I couldn't finish them! Finally after waiting forever we got the drinks and apps. It then took another 15 minutes to order our food. Again it was busy and my friend and I were catching up so it wasn't a big deal. We wanted a fairly light dinner so we just ordered one roll -- the Fuego, which had yellowtail and a whitefish, chili, cilantro and cucumber plus a pico de gallo on top -- it was very flavorful -- although a bit spicy for those who are spice wimps like me. Overall, thought it was a good meal but wasn't blown away.

The waiter said he would check the availability, but we were completely ignored. They continued to fill our water and brought other items the table, but no one followed up on our request. Our dining experience started out very wrong... The service: I had a guest running a bit behind, but while the rest of us sat there and waited, no one asked if we wanted to start drinks or coffee?! We sat there for 40 minutes and had to flag down the waiter to start our drink order. They would pass our table and ignore us multiple times. The service was extremely slow and lacking. It was not even that busy in the restaurant. The food: It was very average. It was not as exceptional as I expected for the price. They brought out some dry cold store bought mini croissants to the table as an appetizer. They were terrible. My entree was average. I had soufflé pancakes. There were table sides to share. Unsalted potatoes , tiny pieces of bacon covered with sticky syrup, and some type of beef filet... All average and unseasoned. We sat there for almost 2 hours and the waiter never offered to change out our plates or silverware. I had sticky pancake syrup all over the place and had to use the same dirty plates the entire time. Oh and we wanted to order a birthday dessert but every selection included some type of nuts and I have a severe nut allergy. Go figure, another disappointment. This did not feel like a fine dining experience and I probably wouldn't return for brunch. I don't understand how these restaurants get away with this!
