I grew up with Dr. Morisak and he is as caring a person as you could possibly run across.

Let me start by saying for 8 years I loved this dentist's work and recommended several people to…read morehim. That was before Westhafer Jr joined the practice with Sr Westhafer. When Dr Westhafer Jr. Joined the practice fresh out of med school he of course lacked the polish and skill of Dr Westhafer Sr, but I had been so happy through the years that when Jr failed to properly fill a cavity deep enough under the gumline.... I didn't complain or say a word. The work was already done and I just wasn't going to say anything and have to redo the work until it gave me problems, however.... The next time I had an appointment with Dr Westhafer Sr, he immediately saw the problem and began to redo this tooth and "fix" it. Which would have been fine, EXCEPT for the fact that upon finding the incorrectly filled tooth he began work on it without my consent and didn't notify me that since the tooth was worked on so recently that it was ineligible for any insurance coverage. Because technically this tooth had already been paid for. An unexpected and UNINSURED bill would be bad enough... But he had already began work on the tooth before he finally notified me insurance would not cover it... But in general I'm very easy going and even this could have been tolerable.... However this was apparently obviously NOT the first failed work of Dr Jr that had been found since Dr westifer senior began to become extremely unprofessional and RANT at me CONTINUOUSLY about how he could not keep doing dental work for free to fix this stuff and he would be charging me full price without insurance. So obviously other patients had had similar situations. He then went on to practically belittle me for my admission that I did drink one can of cola a day, and started scolding me about how that single pop a day obviously must have caused this. (Keep in mind this was the first cavity or work I had needed done in over 5 years, the last two years of which I had been experiencing severe stomach and vomiting issues multiple times a day and had repeatedly discussed this with the dental team over concern of the potential damage that was being done to my teeth from the stomach acid. ) Even drinking my sinful one can of pop a day and my teeth getting coated and stomach acid at least 10 times daily only cavities or damage I had had was the single cavity and then the botched filling of said cavity. I left the dental office that day with an exorbitant bill, practically in tears from the unwarranted criticism, feeling humiliated, belittled and shamed. In summary, in trying to cut Dr Westhafer Jr some slack since he was learning, I was out hundreds of dollars and treated like garbage (or the scape goat of his frustration). And of course now I also need to find a new dentist.

Thankfully I did not need a root canal and saved a bundle of money. Then Dr. Kline put a crown on my back molar and also sanded down the upper tooth so my bite was right. Dr. Kline is down to earth, very approachable, and is outstanding in discussing what is needed, and what may not be needed in dental treatment. He is outstanding in being sensitive to whether the patient feels any pain. He is very, very careful and pays attention to the patient, in order that the patient is not experiencing pain and when he worked on me, he pulled away when he could tell I began wincing and one time during the procedure he asked me if I wanted to "be numbed", or if I was going to be okay; things like this. He also is very good at understanding what you say when your mouth is full of dentist tools. I just really felt this is such a special, caring place. I have recommended this dentist to people, already.

My husband had a dental emergency on a Saturday. He is a patient at Austin Park, so I attempted to…read morecall their emergency line 3 times in 24hrs. After the 3rd call, I didn't receive a call back, but a text stating "Emily, yes, received calls but unfortunately we are out of town until Thursday morning. We are unable to call in pain meds as well , if you are able to find someone Monday I would try and secure an appointment." This text would have been very helpful after the first voice-mail I left on the emergency line. Now I know that they received the messages, but didn't bother to help us and give us the guidance we were desperately needing. I never asked for pain meds because my husband had already gotten some from the emergency room (that he had to go to because we didn't know what else to do). I called another dentist's emergency line who called me back immediately on a Sunday and was able to see my husband in the office the next day. He had exposed nerve and infection from a broken molar. This would have only gotten worse if the dentist (who didn't know us at all and did not have to take in an emergency patient) hadn't helped us. This experience showed me that the dentists at Austin Park Dental does not care about their patients. If they did, they would have helped us in our time of need. We will not be back to their office and urge anyone reading this to seek a different office as well.

At the end of the appointment I was told that both of my kids had 2 cavities each which would need to be filled at another appointment. I was also told that the child with the supernumerary tooth would need extensive orthodontic work, because that tooth absolutely could not be pulled. She has perfectly straight teeth, so there was no way I was about to agree to cosmetic dentistry without a second opinion. I took my children to a new dentist and SURPRISE neither of them had any cavities! And that supernumerary tooth? A simple extraction handled it. Austin Park Dental is a joke.

I went in and was initially impressed with the front desk people. They are so pleasant and not staring down their nose if I worried about paying for the service. First, it was so much less expensive than dentists I called to have a single tooth pulled. I was never left alone and the person (I am horrible remembering names but I will never forget how awesome she was) that stayed with me and took X-rays made a calm happen right away. I say that because I do not, or I should say, did not like dentists or doctors in general. But....when the dentist came in, he treated me like I've been there a thousand times and calmly suggested a treatment plan. I feel like a turn coat when I have to admit, there is a dentist that I trust....like immediately. The treatment plan could have included expensive root canals, but the Dentist explained the best course of treatment, far less painful in my mouth and wallet. So thank you everyone on the Next Door app and i hope this review helps someone find a good local dentist if you are anywhere near Norton, Ohio. I found my new Dentist.
