Wonderful products. I have been using it's soap several years. It keeps my skin moisture and like lemongrass scent.

I found a bunch of cute christmas decorations along with an awesome mail sorter wall basket. Volunteers and Staff were so friendly and helpful, also just so so nice. Everything is priced super reasonable which is not often the case with thrifting in the LA area. Overall, cute local thrift that donates money to a great cause.

Personally I didn't really like this place. We went on a Wednesday because theirs online hours said…read morethey were open-false start because they were actually closed. I had to suggest their actual hours so that their website reflected that. Everything is donated and appears to be fast fashion-think SHEIN and lots of polyester, everything goes to charity so there's that I suppose. The workers are entirely volunteer based which makes for a poor system, resulting in the service being almost too attentive with the staff immediately asking what you're looking for and approaching you the minute you pull something off to get a closer look. For example I had to remove some dresses to even be able to look at the dresses but one of the volunteers asks if I wanted her to hold them but then stood there waiting for me to be done which felt uncomfortable to say the least. Because everyone's a volunteer they're bored and try to be "too helpful" in that you can't look in peace and feel constantly watched. In addition the racks were packed way too tight, making it almost impossible to look at the clothes individually. Hard pass for me thank you.

"Friends of Project 10, Incorporated is a nonprofit organization created in 1984 that supports…read moreprograms which emphasize nondiscrimination & equality for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) Youth. The organization works to assure that public schools are in compliance with state & federal laws regarding sexual orientation& gender identity, and that academic achevement should not be limited by being part of a marginalized social group. Our major program is the "Models of Excellence" scholarship competition for Southern California senior high school students who have advanced LGBT rights." Just as our wise founding forefathers developed checks & balances in the Federal government, society also needs various organizations to monitor public policy to ensure that the rules & laws governing equality under the law is implemented fairly & consistently. Good laws can be formulated by governing agencies, but officials in charge may not always comply & sometimes may be counter-productive & damaging. Project 10 is thus such a counter-balance so that there is compliance & execution of policy that brings a measure of equality & rights to LGBT students . I recently went to a Friends of Project 10 fund raiser at the home of Virginia & Gail, the organizers. It was an eclectic gathering of people of many orientations who were primarily interested in furthering opportunities of leadership & scholarship for LGBT youth. No matter of what stripe, it is our youth who will be the movers & shakers in our future society. It is imperative that we encourage & support their education & initiative so that they will be able to handle & manage the problems in our future society. Without youth being prepared for the eventuality of taking over, our American society will be in a dire position of decline. It is up to us as adults to facilitate support & help this transition. The backyard fund raiser was a good way to interact & network with people from diverse backgrounds & cultures as well as meeting many people (straight & LGBT) representing different organizations that function as the checks & balances needed in a free society. One of the more specialized organizations is the San Gabriel Valley Asian Pacific Islander PFLAG. Its amazing how our internet oriented nation is so full of special interest groups that appeal to such a wide range of needs. I had a scheduled volunteer day and time and woke up on time to go and i texted POC to confirm and they told me that the other volunteer wouldn't be in (if i didnt confirm with a text i probably would have shown up without notice) and i reached out to schedule another day and received no word. I would say i am fairly patient and understanding person with rescues because they are so busy but i would recommend for this rescue to have a dedicated staff member to help volunteers and have a calendar put together and just be better organized. I unfortunately wont be volunteering here anymore. They are doing good work but im bummed because i did want to volunteer here but as a person that values organization it just didnt fit.

There's probably reason that they didn't pick you. A lot of pet need special care or particular family and can't go with just anyone. (Example, some pets are not good with kids). Remember this is a rescue and not a breeder. If they try so hard to save an animal, they don't want the chance for the pets to be returned/dumped if the family find out it's not a good fit. I understand people might not be happy since they are not qualified but didn't need to leave a bad review just for that...after all we all love animals and just want them to find a good home to live happily ever after. We adopted two cuties today, they are a bonded pair, so rescue really want them to go as a pair. Most people only applied adoption for 1 cat, so we got selected. The rescue does everything in animal best interest, and thank you for giving us a chance and two beautiful kittens.

I affirm the contents of that one other review for this. Speaking of which, organizations that do…read morereally well in doing so much good for the community should receive more of the recognition and support they deserve! :) The nonprofit is the base that hosts volunteer activities initiated by different groups all over the city. It is the hub from which various other nonprofits voice and turn the wheels of their projects. Even a recent Yelp Beach Cleanup event, associated with Heal the Bay, required volunteers to sign up first with LA Works. For MLK's Day, LA Works planned a morning at Rosemont Elementary where hundreds of people, most of them a part of their employer company (ex. Target, Home Depot, JP Morgan, Accenture), showed up to help revitalize the campus. A radio station came prepared with dancing and music to jumpstart the day. Volunteers were assigned letters and numbers, then told to report to their assigned tasks. It was all very organized and efficient. They cleaned the computer labs, classrooms, storage room and rec room. Adults and kids alike transformed drab brown walls into a playground of rainbows and sunshine. Snacks, juice and water were available throughout the event. Following, food trucks showed up, some of which were either prepaid by the organization or declined to charge. You can become a volunteer by signing up for an account - and then going through their available search options for projects you would be interested in. I like looking through their calendar for a big picture of their activities. Some projects, like anything that has to do with animals, are hot and fill up faster than others. Clicking on the individual project listing will provide a detailed description and, more importantly, the geographical location/zip code. Trust me, the easier it is to get there, the more available and willing you are to enjoy the event, maybe even on a weekly basis.

It was easy to sign up for both events; the respective coordinators got back to me quickly, and I had a wonderful time. You really do feel like a part of the community when you help out your fellow residents. Many people say they wish they could set aside time to volunteer, and I'd just like to tell them that it doesn't take any effort just to ask how you can help, and the rewards are neverending. I look forward to helping out with future events. Thank you again!
