My second time at Morgan's was much better than the first. I got the same flavor both times: Cookies, Cookie & Cream. The first time I went, they didn't allow samples, but this time they did. The first visit, the ice cream barely had any cookies or much flavor, whereas this time it was loaded with both. I really appreciated the change because the ice cream was much better overall. There's usually only one person working, so it can get busy depending on the time of day you go. It had been such a long time since I'd been around this area, and honestly it's turned into such a fun little spot now. It was the perfect hot sunny day for some ice cream, so stopped by and tried the Café Delight and Honey Nuts Vanilla, plus sampled a few other flavors too. The Café Delight had oat & coconut milk espresso ice cream with white chocolate chip cookies mixed in, super creamy and really good. I just wish the espresso flavor was a little stronger since I love bold coffee flavors. The Honey Not so Vanilla was delicious, creamy and just perfect too. Also tried the fudge brownie and golden oreo and the fudge brownie was definitely my favorite. It was rich, creamy, and super chocolatey. The golden oreo gave classic cookies & cream vibes and was really good too. The girl helping us was so sweet, the ice cream quality was amazing overall, and even though the jelly sprinkled donut flavor wasn't really my thing, it was still such a fun experience. Great experience with Morgan's ice cream! They have some unique flavors that are delicious and not very heavy. I did the "don't tell mom" which was birthday cake with cookie dough, and the Cookie Monster, which was like a blue cream (naturally dyed!) with Oreo pieces. Both were so delicious I wish I had the Cookie Monster on top so you could see the blue in my photos. The staff was very nice and the place is cute. Took my mother along to experience a much more boutique ice cream run experience than we are used to. She got the fudged up brownie and Cookie Monster scoops, which were much bigger than expected, after being allowed to try little tastes of a few different ice creams to know what unique flavor she would actually want. There were a couple items out of stock on a Monday afternoon so it is clear to see just what the most popular flavors were. The overload of chocolate and cookies was immaculate and not overwhelming. The parlor is very small and doesn't feel like the right spot to finish that much ice cream in one sitting but the regular decor was so very cute. Wow, I'm already a sucker for ice cream flights but this ice cream was. so. dang. good!!!! We had such friendly and quick service when we came in on a Saturday right around opening time. They let you sample flavors and I had a hard time choosing which flavors to go with! Ultimately I picked the pistachio raspberry, the lemon oreo, strawberry and buttercake, and oreo ice cream flavors. They were rich and creamy and not too sweet, you could definitely taste the fresh berries they use in their goodies!! It's small on the inside with a few seating options, but it was a nice day so we took ours to go enjoy outside. This is a cute little shop, very simple and tucked in a strip of other shops surrounded by several popular restaurants. They don't offer seating, which I think is a bummer, considering it would be a perfect little stop during the summer/hot months. The first couple of bites were okay, but I didn't want to waste a full serving of ice cream by choosing another flavor. Possibly because it was gluten-free, I found it to be gritty and it had an undesirable texture. Cookie Monster: I tasted this, the bite I sampled, tasted okay. My partner said he enjoyed it. Overall, I don't think I will visit this establishment again, but I'm happy I was able to visit. I do know several people who enjoy Vegan/Gluten Free foods and for them, this will be the perfect ice cream shop! Also, if you go during the warmer days, be careful. As soon as you step outside, your ice cream will quickly melt. I'd suggest you get your serving in a cup/bowl and not a cone. I was really looking forward to it as I love sweets But first off I wish they gave samples like plenty of ice cream parlors do around town. Some of the flavors interested me but sometimes those don't work out either. I got a waffle bowl with a raspberry chocolate flavor and when I finally tasted it, I was extremely disappointed. The waffle bowl was good though. Wife got a chocolate brownie marshmallow flavor and same situation. Pros: Great location! I had delicious vegan and gluten free salted caramel shortbread fudge in a waffle bowl. It wasn't too sweet and had the perfect amount of salt and I liked the little surprises of shortbread bar pieces mixed in. I think that took it to another level. It's one of the flavors for January so if you love salted caramel, I suggest you go to Morgan's to get a scoop! My husband had the fudged up brownie and the mint chip. I got to taste both of them and both had really good flavors. It's amazing to me how these can be sweet, but also in a way, savory. I don't know how they do it. Mint chip is another flavor of the month and it's also vegan and gluten free. I don't know how or with what the ice cream was dyed with in order to get that signature light green look, but the ice cream was dyed naturally. We ended up getting a pint of what I assume was a flavor of December because it was winter mint fudge, which they don't have on the menu anymore. The fudge is so decadent, but the mint really holds it down. The person at the counter was super nice even though it was close to closing time and it's such a cute store front. There was a steady stream of customers walking in and out before we arrived as well as a couple on a bench outside enjoying their ice cream. When we walked in, we were greeted immediately by a very nice young lady and it appeared she had two friends hanging out with her in the shop. The shop is very small so it felt a bit awkward. Their flavors are not your typical choices, so not being able to sample is a huge downer. I initially was thinking I wouldn't be able to actually eat the ice cream because I can't have dairy; however, I noticed a few vegan choices on the menu! I went with the Fudged Up Cookie Dough, it's made with coconut milk. I didn't think it would taste as good as it did. I liked the texture of it too. The entryway is small and when more people lined up behind me the line wrapped around. But everyone had patience and we're happy for a cold treat on such a hot Texas day! I absolutely love this ice cream place. I'll drive here 20 minutes just to get ice cream and their monthly flavors are absolutely phenomenal. Now the only complaints I would have is probably customer service and as someone noted before, the dairy free ice cream isn't my faborite texture. Honestly I'm lactose intolerant but I'll down a whole box of lactaid just to have their normal ice cream. Customer service is a hit or miss.
