Cookie Butter in the shop.
Sheila K.

Solid ice cream. This was the second time I've had Melt, first time was at a different location (both in Texas). Since this was my 3rd time in Dallas-Fort Worth and I still haven't been to the Stockyards, my sister and her hubs decided they had to take me to experience it at least once. It was a pretty warm day so, obvi, that called for ice cream!! I can't remember what they ordered but I got the Cookie Butter ice cream on the Waffle cone. It was between that or the (flavor option at the time-- week before Halloween) Monster Cookie Mash, a mint-cookie flavor basically. I was able to sample both and it was a slightly difficult decision but ultimately, mint lost this round. The Cookie Butter hit the spot! It's a cute little shop, narrow from what I remember... I don't think there was anywhere to sit? I was too focused on the ice cream choices and we took it to go. They did have cute merch there that I was almost tempted to get... cute colors. There was one employee working I think, not sure if there was a back room. She was nice and helpful with the samples. Definitely a good choice for ice cream on a warm, Texas day in the Stockyards.

I visited this ice cream shop today, August 17th, at 4:13 PM. The woman was extremely rude--especially for a tourist town, she is very ill-mannered.

First time trying visiting this ice cream spot called Melt. My husband and I ordered the happy crush pop which is dipped in white chocolate with cookie crushed. The ice cream was very good. The happy crush pop is $6.85 usd. This ice cream is located at the Fort worth Stockyard. This ice cream spot is open from 11 am - 10 pm everyday. Overall the experience was great.

Delicious ice cream! Fun flavors along with classics you know and love. Conveniently located near the Fort Worth Stockyards, great little pick me up when exploring the area, plenty of seating outside on benches.

"Melt" Ice Creams - (Mule Alley) Stockyards Y'all, this delicious place is Texas bread and women owned. They currently offer 4 locations; Magnolia, Bishop Arts, Mule Alley and Willow Park. It's located in the heart of Stockyards and Mule Alley. As you stroll through Mule Alley, towards Hotel Drover, it's located on the left side, Suite 624, close to "Catarina's" and "Cowtown Winery." It's very small and cozy atmosphere and the lines can get long. It's obvious people love "Melt" ice cream because strolling through Stockyards, you will find every other person with a cup or cone in their hands. But, the wait is worth it to indulge in cold creamy creations they offer. Inside you will find bright yellow colors with fun merchandise to take home with you. I ordered, "Chocolate Chocolate," one scoop. The man next to me ordered "Dark Chocolate," scoop and I would have ordered that instead since I prefer "Dark Chocolate." However, "Chocolate Chocolate," was creamy and sweet. The staff were great at accommodating each customer and helping them with choices they may not have been familiar with. I will definitely be returning here, to continue supporting Texas Women and for that "Dark Chocolate," scoop, or two, or three, or more. " In 2014, MELT founder Kari Crowe-Seher figured out what was missing from DFW: premium small batch, high-quality ice cream!" Cute spot that is very popular among the Stockyards. They have very good seasonal flavors. The flavors were very unique and not seen in a standard ice cream store. The ice cream was also fresh and the staff was very nice.

Cute ice cream shop with vegan options. They didnt have a ton of flavors. It was reasonably priced. It was a cute set up inside.

Really cute, cozy shop! Service was quick despite the many people cramming into the shop I got the plant based peanut butter explosion with chocolate , one scoop- thought it was a generous size. I was a little hesitant bc some plant based ice creams I had can taste a little chalky, but this definitely tasted just like a dairy based ice cream. Woo!

Located in one of the side streets at the Fort Worth Stockyards, this location of Melt Ice Cream serves up a nice variety of flavors, at reasonable prices. The ice cream was good, just the right thickness and we loved their flavors: salt lick, cup of TX, and Sweet cream. Like most ice cream shops, it's a lot more economical to get two scoops shared, vs getting individual one scoops. The servers weren't overly generous, so a two scoop was just the right amount. It does cost extra if you prefer a cone ($6.60 single scoop) vs a cup ($5.25 single scoop). They only accept digital payment (no cash), which was a bit surprising.

Strawberry shortcake

First time trying Melt and it was yummy. A little pricy for just a scoop of ice cream, but there were so many shortcake chunks in the strawberry shortcake that it was worth it. It was truly a delicious and refreshing dessert to eat while walking around at the Stockyards. Definitely a place to check out and try if you're visiting the historic Stockyards or are in need of a delicious afternoon snack.

what a great spot!!! I wish i wasn't doing this review five months later because I could give more of a quality overview -- however, i deeply enjoyed melt and can see why it is so popular! They have a variety of options and i love that they include dairy and gluten free options on their menu. I got the coffee flavor and the peanut butter flavor and thought it was absolutely delicious. I'm a bit of an ice cream snob so i wouldn't say it's the best ice cream i have ever had, but it was definitely top of the list!

Dulce de lece and Texan coffee
Yarn Y.

Hmmm how is this place getting more than 3 stars? Got the dulce de leche and the Texan cup of coffee - both scoops had a pretty weak flavor (not gentle , just week...). Nothing too exciting . For 5.70$ (for a cup ) one can probably score better when it gets to ice cream . I'll pass

Yummy ice cream! Ask for some samples, I tried sweet cream, salt lick (salted caramel) and cookie dough and liked salt lick the most. Cream brûlée was good too! Pricey at $7.50 for a scoop though, $9 for 2 scoops.

While getting samples to better understand what I would want, the person working wasn't getting impatient and she was extremely kind. Each time someone would come in and out of the store she would greet them. My only concerns were that the shop got a little crowded when there multiple people waiting to order and that the ice cream melted pretty quick outside of the fridge. However, that doesn't take away the fact that Morgan is one of the best ice cream spots in town. I would highly recommend this place for a sweet treat!!

It was the perfect hot sunny day for some ice cream, so stopped by and tried the Café Delight and Honey Nuts Vanilla, plus sampled a few other flavors too. The Café Delight had oat & coconut milk espresso ice cream with white chocolate chip cookies mixed in, super creamy and really good. I just wish the espresso flavor was a little stronger since I love bold coffee flavors. The Honey Not so Vanilla was delicious, creamy and just perfect too. Also tried the fudge brownie and golden oreo and the fudge brownie was definitely my favorite. It was rich, creamy, and super chocolatey. The golden oreo gave classic cookies & cream vibes and was really good too. The girl helping us was so sweet, the ice cream quality was amazing overall, and even though the jelly sprinkled donut flavor wasn't really my thing, it was still such a fun experience. I also wanted to try the toasted lemon coconut since I love lighter summer flavors, but they were out of it. Hopefully next time!

He helped me out and was in contact with me about the entire process and getting it taken care of even while he was out of town. To have a local place where the owner cares this much about his business to be coordinating my order with my and his employees while on vacation is remarkable. I would recommend everyone to come here for any ice cream cakes for any occasion, just make sure you place a custom order a week in advance to give time for them to bake it from scratch and layer in the ice cream. If I could rate this higher than 5, I absolutely would.

One of the freezers were out and so the ice creams were not displayed on that side. The young girls were somewhat helpful and told us those were in the back freezer but there was no list of what was back there. They had to go back each time and check. I always get moose tracks or another and could not remember the name but there was not a list to lol at either of what was in back freezer. I Hope the freezer is fixed soon. We really pumped this place up with some family members we took and it did not live up to what we told them. There was barely a drizzle of chocolate for the sundae one ordered and not nuts to sprinkle on top. They did add more chocolate when asked though. Hoping it was just an off night. But a list would be helpful of what is in the back freezer until the other is fixed. Halloween decorations were cute!!

I had no idea they were there, actually, I had no idea many of those shops were in that area. When I walked in, did I picture a cute little ice cream shop that I'd want to sit in and talk the evening away, no. It was slightly busy and I'm not too fond of having conversations, while people are constantly walking in and out. It would be nice if they had outside seating, as the weather starts to cool, it would make for a very nice evening. I chose the Mint Oreo Milkshake, it was very delicious. So, very delicious! Would I visit again, probably not. I don't think I would be willing to commit to paying $13.00+ a tip for a large (actual size of a small/medium) shake, where there are other ice cream shops (Braums) that are a staple in many communities and are half the price. I know they like to play on the "we use nitro ...", but the price is still the price, and people feel as if they're not getting what they're paying for; that's the issue. I'm happy I had the chance to experience this new little spot, it was nice!
