Their entire kitchen is scratch and it shows - especially in their sauces! The roasted tomato chutney on the burger was one of our favorite touches, along with the fried gouda - INSANE. The brunch burger featured my favorite items and was fantastic and juicy. I got the cucumber salad on the side to balance out the hearty meal and I found it sweet and spicy and very refreshing. When you are here - don't you dare drink a basic beer! I tried the raspberry jalapeño and it was delicious and no, not burning spicy, just the flavor of jalepeno at the end. My parter tried their summer cider, and it was slightly dry, fruity, and bubbly. For an Omaha Burger, this is one of my go-to's from here on out. Casual vibe, incredibly fair pricing, and a wide variety of flavors to try.

Ive been a customer at Paddy's for many years. And I was a customer at McFlys before that. And this…read moreis by far the worst experience I've had. The food was good, but that's the only redeeming part of this review. Half of my 6 top came in at 7:30. Decently busy, but the dinner rush is just dying down. By 8:00 there were less than 25 people in the entire building. We sat down. Ordered drinks. 3 waters. Had them within 3 minutes. 5 minutes later I ask to order some apps. The table orders 2 different apps. The rest of the 6 top gets there 7:50. They order apps at 7:55 along with their drinks. 8:05 we all order our meals. 8:15 all of our apps come out at once. Even the original orders that were put in 12-15 minutes before the 2nd orders of apps were put in. And from 8:15 until 8:50 we don't see or hear an update on our food. We all ordered 12 wings and one person ordered a pizza. 3 orderes of fries. And a basket of chips. First thing out is the pizza at 8:50. Then a single basket of fries and basket of chips 8:55. Then a half of one persons wing order, then a random basket of fries at 8:58. The other half order of wings at 9 and by 9:05 the rest of the food was there. Not so much as a sorry it's taking so long. Or a can I get you guys anything? (Except for those who had beer, they kept asking if they wanted more beer) every water refill had to be asked for. Mind you. By 8:45 there were 3 tables left in the entire restaurant, 4 including ours. And they all had thier food and finished before we even seen ours. With 4 wait staff, and atleast 4 in the kitchen. 50 minutes for 60 wings 2/3 baskets of fries a basket of chips and a pizza. And not one single acknowledgment of the unacceptable amount of time. I'm not sure I'll ever go back. Or recommend it to anyone. Extremely disappointed.

I'm in Omaha for a few days, I had my ribeye steak, Reuben, fresh corn, Culver's, and plan a Runza…read morerun for the next day, what's the next move? I had a free afternoon and for some reason when I check yelp, a couple spots in Council Bluffs, IA show up. I check around and they look fine, elevated bar/comfort food that could be from Anywhere, USA. Pork tenderloin seems to be the move with something fried on the side. LPL's really stuck out for a few reason - massive tenderloin sandwich and a super Midwest feel from the pics. Coming from Omaha, LPL's is about 15 minutes from downtown, but everything is 15-30 minutes it seems no matter where you go so might as well check out a new state. This restaurant is as middle of nowhere in the middle of nowhere as it gets. Nondescript building with just a few windows on the side of what seems like a main road for the area. I'm fairly certain there has not ever been an Asian and/or Hispanic person set foot in here, but hey, I was looking for a hearty and authentic meal and that's what I got. Felt like Joe and Marisa showing up in Alabama. I walked in and could feel the eyes on me immediately and went straight to an open bar stool. The place was pretty packed for a random Monday at 1pm. Everyone seems like regular locals. Server/bartender came up and handed me a menu and I ordered a Yuengling. I already knew what I wanted - pork tenderloin deluxe with some cheese curds. Very reasonable and necessary up charges for both. Now, when people exaggerate and say, "so and so was bigger than my face" I brush it aside, BUT this pork tenderloin was much bigger than my face and is comically large. They actually gave me a to go box to cut some of it up and set aside for maneuverability. I won't say it was seasoned well but the bonus points for size outweighs all. I cut and stacked with mayo and veggies to eat and it was very delicious. Crunchy and juicy with fresh veggies and needed richness from mayo. I was on my 3rd day of curds and ranch, no complaints there other than from my doctor I'm sure. I suppose I can recommend this place... it was just an odd experience of being so out of place for me but the staff was friendly and food was good making this a good place to check out. I would say it's one-of-a-kind spot but I have no idea what the rest of the Midwest is like. It's really in the middle of nowhere and getting an uber back to Omaha took a whopping 17 minutes. I, of course, appreciate anyone that reads my long reviews of random restaurants. I have no idea who is reading this review in NE or IA. $25 for a massive sandwich and 2 beers is the deal if the century. Way off the beaten path but may be worth a visit if you are visiting Omaha and what a different experience.

I had the Cubano sandwich, which was good overall, especially the smoky meat, but I think the coarse-ground mustard overpowered the flavours a bit and dulled the smokiness a bit. A plain yellow mustard might balance the sandwich better and let the smokiness shine through more. The sweet potato fries, however, were excellent. My wife Laura ordered Emily's Salad, which was pleasant and fresh, though we both thought it could have benefited from a little crunch--maybe some seeds or nuts added in. Our daughter Alex had the birria tacos and carne asada fries. The tacos were tasty, though a little on the small side, but the carne asada fries were fantastic. Umai! (I am a Rengoku fan; if you know, you know.) I highly recommend it. Our other daughter, Sam, ordered the birria grilled cheese and elote fries, and both were really good. Her cherryade was especially refreshing. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed, though the dining area and patio felt a bit bare. A few plants outside and inside would really warm the place up and give it more character. The music was pretty good with indie hits in there. I also tried the Old Fashioned. It was definitely strong, which I appreciated, but it felt like it was missing a touch of sweetness or something to round it out. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves, and I'd absolutely go back and try more on the menu. Their waitstaff was top-notch and really were on their game. The restaurant has good ingredients and solid ideas--it just feels like a few flavour balances could be dialed in a little more.
