I have to start with "hola" for the latino that works here. He is friendly, very nice, and give good deal rong time. My car speak japanese, and he speak japanese even though his name is jose My chihuahuas smell his scent very similar to the taco stand and they are excited to jump up and bark when they see him. All smog should be rike smog of moraga. So so good and thorough, rike good noodle from chef chao, hold the cat read more

Highly Recommended. Been using Moraga Smog for maybe 5 years for 3 cars. I previously had a smog license and I do my own auto service. Moraga Smog (Jose I think) does a great job. Honest shop, good fair price, fast. I don't think I ever made an appointment and always got fast service. Highly recommend, especially if you are concerned about fairness. read more

Smog check happened efficiently and fast from a phone call for an appointment. Will use again!

Even though I came at a busy time, I was able to get in for a smog check within about 20 minutes without an appointment. Service was super fast and efficient! I brought in a coupon, and the pricing was honest with no surprises or pressure. Jose was incredibly kind :) read more

Great and friendly service. I had to get my son's car smogged and the battery was dead as he is out of the area and not driving the car. I was concerned the computer reset and I would have to put a 100 miles on the car to smog it. I called Moraga smog and he said come on down and he'll put it on the computer to see if the cars computer reset. I got delayed and showed up 10 minutes prior to closing time expecting him to only confirm the status of the computer with every expectation I would come back later to get it smogged. He took care of everything right there saving me a second drip. Great customer service!!! read more

Very quick and friendly smog checking. I've been bringing in my three cars there for years, and have enjoyed the competitive pricing, especially with their coupons. Even when one of my cars once failed, they patiently showed me the cause - a cracked hose - which I quickly got replaced, and the van then passed. Rapid, friendly outfit - I highly recommend Moraga Smog. read more

Love this place! Jose helped me today - super nice, great price, and my car was in and out in under 15 minutes. Will definitely take my other car here once it's due for a smog check- highly recommend and appreciate how kind Jose is! read more

Jose was so professional and helpful. Very efficient. He was also very quick and courteous.

After I failed smog they still charged me full price, took them less than 5 minutes. Website also states 50 dollars, but they charged me 70 for 5 minutes, opened the hood and that's it. SCAM read more

Great service - called with an hours notice, and was able to get me in. Quick and professional service, Jose was a pleasure to work with. Easy to wait outside on chairs under a parasol - took less than 15 min. Take along their coupon for $20 off.... read more

We have taken all of our cars to Moraga Smog for about 10 years. They are fast, reasonable priced, and honest. I highly recommend Jose and Moraga Smog. read more

Writing this review also to answer the question: yes, they handle manual transmission cars here. Jose drove my manual car like an adult, so nothing to worry about here! I brought my older Boxster here today. Jose was very friendly and most importantly, honest. I really appreciate that quality. It's clear also that he is familiar with the parts of this car, as the top was put back perfectly. read more

Sam does a great job he will tell you the problems when you kneed to fix them After you get the problem fixed it will will get passed

The smog test was pretty quick, and service was friendly. With a coupon, the price is better than many competitors.

REPEAT Customer! Jose helps me keep the family motor pool rolling! My world keeps getting more complicated. Jose takes some of the complexity out of the picture. He's a pro, and gives good advice! . Jose ROCKS! Fast, efficient, friendly ... fair pricing! Two cars successfully tested and passed in two weeks. Well done! I'll be back! read more

Excellent and professional service - highly recommended for local SMOG service if you live in/around Lamorinda area.

Like other reviews I too am disappointed that Moraga Smog charges the FULL amount $79.95 (Including a $8.25 certificate fee) if your car does not pass the first time around. read more

I had a great experience here! I pulled up at 10:50am today (Saturday) and there was no line. Jose greeted me and had me fill out the contact info portion of an invoice. The original quoted price was $68.10, when I used the yelp check-in discount the final price was $48.20. The smog check took less than 10 minutes. The whole process was incredibly quick and easy. Jose was so polite and provided great customer service. I will definitely bring my car back next year for a smog check and recommend this location to anyone in need of a smog check. read more

Moraga Smog - Short wait for my baby's first smog check :) - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Moraga, California

I came here for a couple smog Checks. They are friendly, fast, and reliable. I'd come back again in the future.

Fantastic service from Jose! Quick and easy process. Great pricing! Highly recommended business if you're in need of a smog check. I will definitely be coming back here for sure! Thanks, Jose! Much appreciated! read more

Fast, cheap, and great service... Usually you only get to pick 2 of the 3 with your service vendors but in Jose's case, you get all of them. I called and was able to get a same day appointment for my minivan. The test was very fast, I was done in 10-15 minutes or so. Jose, who is now the owner, gave me a discount so he either matched or beat the other guys' I called in Lamorinda. I went with him because he's close and the appointment was convenient. But the fast courteous service will have me returning the next time I need a smog check. At the time they were not yet STAR certified, so I had to take an older car somewhere else, but otherwise I would have taken it there too. Jose told me they have already applied for certification, so by the time you read this they may already have it. When you call for an appointment, ask them just to be sure. read more

Jose has done my past few smog checks, and he's awesome! Quick service, reasonable price, honest. I'm so glad he's here in Moraga.

Just took my Prius in to have it smogged and the service was excellent. Very friendly. This is the third or fourth time I have used him and always happy. read more

I wanted to support this local business even though I could take my car to Berkeley for half of the charge. Since my car was not driven for a while, smog test failed and I was told that I will have to drive it for at least 100 miles to reset all instruments. Nice friendly service, but I was disappointed to find out that this place charges the full amount for retest, even though most other competitors do not charge for retest. read more

Moraga Smog just relocated from 425 Moraga Road to 1135 Moraga Way! So much more convenient for those of us who live @ MCC...just across the street! Great service! Technicians are professional, personable and did my smog check in 15 minutes! What's NOT to love? I'll be back for sure. Give them a try. I promise you won't be disappointed. read more

This is by far the best place to take your car for a smog check if you live in the Lamorinda or surrounding area. Jose is knowledgable, honest, and very friendly. I've been taking my cars to him for years and like his current location (this was a prior location for him too) much better than the last location. He does have coupons often in the mail. If your car or truck needs a smog give them a call! read more

Had 2 cars smog done on same day less than 20 minutes per car, JC is friendly and does the job quickly. Highly recommended service.
