An excellent park in Moraga that has it all. If you drive by you can't miss it as its on a main road and on the corner. It will lure you in with its beauty. Best place around for a picnic. Play area and tables and green area for days... all in the perfect setting... a little manmade park carved out of nature. It has the footprint of a big triangle and is beautiful no matter which direction you look. The design and layout needs to be redone in many other cities - why reinvent the wheel? Little trail if you just want to walk too. Perfect for the pooch. Mr Wolfie will want to come with you on this outing. Family friendly. Bring the kids too. Super clean and safe and no worries. Great venue for a concert. It is clean, great seating and nice views. Only downside is not enough parking.

Moraga Commons has it all: a disc golf course, a skate park, bocce ball courts, three different play areas (one of which is an all-access playground with specialized equipment including a wheelchair accessible sandbox), trails, plenty of places to picnic, BBQs, and probably much more that I didn't take note of on my first visit here. If you want it all, without a crowd, you're gonna have to get here early. We turned up around 09:00 on a Sunday and it was sparsely populated. By the time we left at 10:30, it was teeming with folks. Review #155 - 2018 I didn't want to go back to our Orinda park everyday so I decided to venture out and Yelp the next park with a kids playground and this was the most interesting so we started making our way over. We showed up around 3:15 PM and there were a few other parents and toddlers around so my daughter was super excited to play with them. There are three different playgrounds, but we only stayed at one since the baby was so busy enjoying her new found playmates. There are two basketball hoops, which my son was making use of, two volleyball nets and a skate park for the older kids as well. There are a few picnic tables for those who enjoy outdoor meals. There were a few senior citizens sitting at the park watching the children play; while some were walking around getting their exercise. It's such a beautiful park with pretty flowers and green trees all over. We'll have to come back to enjoy the rest of park since we were only able to stay in one area before my daughter decided to get upset since all the other kids had to go home. read more

It's all about the disc golf course. The course is an absolute gem. It was one of the first courses in the area and has improved dramatically over the years! The commons is my home course and I have been golfing there on a regular basis for the past 2 years. Don't let the "its only a 9 hole course" motto fool you, this is a challenging course. There are a variety of different shots: uphill (holes 1 and 5), downhill (holes 4 and 9), and a few long holes (holes 6 and 8). There are concrete tee pads on most of the holes and the other ones are either cement or hard dirt. In addition to all the great tee pads and holes, there are plenty of awesome views on the top of the hill, water fountains, and there usually are not many people there. The only downsides are the poison oak in some areas and the signs at each hole are not easy to read and in some cases are not current. read more

This is one of my favorite parks to go to lately! I love the tot playground. My 18 month old is able to climb and run around (somewhat) freely. The tot playground includes the typical items: stairs, tunnel, bridge, slides and swing. There's also a small sandbox and a train that is adjacent to the playground to play in. There's a separate "big kid" playground across the way. That play area has slides, a zip line, swings, and lots of climbing opportunities. Park amenities include: Restrooms Volleyball Courts (sand) Basketball Courts Skateboard Park Bocce Ball Court Disc Golf Course Picnic Areas The Lafayette-Moraga Trail runs through this park. I like this because I can tire the kiddo out at the park and then go for a run afterwards with her in stroller while she naps...win win for both mommy & baby! read more

Such a cute park! It looks little from the street but there is actually quite a bit of space with plenty to do! There are two playgrounds for the kids, two large grassy fields to run around on, a volleyball court, disc golf course, bocce ball area, a beautiful bridge, a fallen heroes war memorial and plenty of benches to sit on. I took my dog Cora to the park around 6:30am on a Sunday morning and we pretty much had the place to ourselves which she loved because she got to run around off leash! What wasn't great was that the sprinklers had just turned off so everything was wet. Boo! My favorite part of the park was the well maintained grass fields to run around or hangout on as well as the beautiful bridge around the back that goes over the creek. I also liked the trail going around the park because it's wide and easy to work on. Moraga Commons also connects with the Lafayette-Moraga Trail so for anyone looking for a longer walk or run can easily connect to the 7 mile long paved trail. The park also has well maintained bathrooms and a small parking lot as well as overflow parking across the street. Hooray! read more

Great course for disc golf ! I went with 2 beginners and we hiked all over the place , got a frisbee caught in a tree , chatted the whole time , and had a blast ! Everyone was so friendly helping us find the next basket . Loved it ! Hey women come play frisbee golf! We were about the only women there , would be nice to see some more gals :) read more

Love it! During the summer on Thursdays at 6:30PM there are free concerts that are very well attended by the local community! A great spot to relax or walk your dog! Also leads to a long trail that is perfect for jogging or cycling. read more

My kids love it. 3 playgrounds for all ages. It's always nice people there and it's never packed.

This is a fabulous park on many levels. There is plenty to do for people of all ages and there is ample parking both on Moraga Way and in the lots off of St. Mary's. We have attended 3 birthday parties here near the small kids play area. There is a water feature when the weather is warm, a climbing structure, swings (I think only the baby kind in this part), a sandbox and more.There are picnic tables and benches and a seemingly nice green area and plenty of shade. I know there are bathrooms around but unless it is a true (poomergency), I will never know what they are like. BUT WAIT-THERE IS MORE: This park has basketball courts, a skateboarding area, volleyball nets and stuff I don't know about yet. What I do know is that we have celebrated the birthday of my BFF Shannon's boys. Jaxon had his 2nd party here, Jordon's 1st party was held here in October and we just attended Jaxon's 3rd party here on Saturday. Since there is a 3rd boy on the way, I am certain we will be attending more parties at this park! I will say that I love hearing the sound of children having fun and laughing and playing. I am also aware that that time is so precious and short-since our only child is 17 and it is so not cool for mom to supervise any kind of play date! read more

This is a quality park with bocce ball courts, a sand volleyball pit, a small basketball court, a stage, a skate park and disc golf course. Excellent amenities all around! I go here to play the 9-hole disc golf course which is decent but could be better (improved tees, remove the poison oak, longer holes). They've recently been improving the tees on the course and installing concrete pads. I could totally imagine sitting out on the grassy hill under a nice tree, playing a little bocce ball, and enjoying myself thoroughly here. read more

There is a great 9 hole disc golf course here that I've been playing for years it really is a nice course that's well taken care of by the course locals (THANK YOU WHOEVER YOU ARE). Also 2 half court basketball hoops with decent pickup game on Thursday afternoon. Great little skate park and Bocce ball court. 2 kids playground areas that are clean and well maintained. I highly recommend a trip with little ones here or a day of disc golf. GREAT TIME EVERY TIME!!!! read more

This is a nice park. It has both Bocce Ball courts and a Disk Golf course in addition to kids playgrounds and a water play area. The play grounds are clean. I don't like that the kids can't ride their bikes on the path. read more

This park has it all. 9-hole disc golf course, bocce ball, horseshoe pits, basketball and volleyball courts, a skate park, playground for the kids, and a picnic area with bbq's. 99% of the time I am here for the disc golf, but if I lived in Moraga, I'd be here daily taking advantage of the whole park. The main attraction is the disc golf, and it is a nice course. It is forgiving, yet challenging at the same time. They are building new tee pads right now, along with alternate tees. Only downside as others have said, is the poison oak. Luckily for me, I don't get a reaction from it. read more

I came here frequently to play dsic golf when living in Berkeley, because the Berkeley Marina course was so often a disaster. It's only nine holes and they are all right - a lot of long throws downhill, which can be fun or annoying. I saw the only hole in one I've ever seen here, and if you're nearby I recommend, but there's not much enticement for me to make the journey nowadays. read more

Disc Golf course- This is a 9 hole course set in the back round of Moraga Commons Park. It has a good mix of up hill, down hill, over trenches and flat holes. It is a bit hilly and will wear out the average person playing 18. It is usually pretty empty with disc golfers. It is definitely worth checking out if you are near there. The first tee is just on the other side of the skate park. Watch out if you over shoot hole 4 and go right on 6 because there is poison oak all over in the out of bounds areas. Over all it is a great place to play a round. read more

Awesome park! We came for a 1st birthday party and had a blast! It was hard to get my 2 year old to socialize because there were so many things to do: the 2 different play structures, the little train area, the splash pad, the sand volley ball courts (he loved playing in the sand), the basketball courts, the bocce ball courts, and the picnic area with bbqs. I saw people playing disc golf up the hill, people running on the trails, riding bikes, etc... This park has it all. We'll definitely visit again. read more

I just finished my 1st ever round at this course and I had a blast.. This 9hole course has holes that are good in distance and a bit of a challenge. The course also changes elevation several times so if you like throwing downhill the you will like this course read more

Many of fun hours spent at this park with my family. The highlight of my summer are the free concerts on Thursday evenings. My daughter never gets bored of the play structures even though we go very often. I always see staff/volunteers cleaning and gardening. I appreciate the large amount of options that this park offers: sand volleyball courts, frisbee golf, bocci ball, chess, BBQ, swinging, skateboarding, picnicking under a tree and so much more. read more
