I came in on Saturday (9/13) and brought in a pair of suits and a dress for a dry clean, one dress for hem alteration and two shirts for laundry. Since I was a new customer, I have asked the lady each price of the service. I was told my dress would have cost me $19.90 for dry clean. However, when I picked up my dress on Wednesday (9/17) in the evening, the different lady told me the cost was $29.99 instead. When I asked, she just simply told me that the other lady was probably looking at a different price. Unfortunately the original ticket didn't have a price on it. So please be careful when you are going to this place to get your clothes clean. They might have given you a different price at the end. Probably asking them to write the price on the ticket is a good idea to avoid some discrepancy. Too bad they are losing a potential regular customer since I won't come back!

We did do some research to find a nice clean location and this one had solid reviews so we gave it a try. Right across from Safeway and BWP in downtown Walnut Creek, parking IS metered but there's plenty of it near the entrance which is key when loading and unloading. I have (literally) years worth of laundry that I've been waiting to do because my machines at home are too small. Duvets, comforters, blankets and towels galore. I couldn't take them living in trash bags anymore so we finally took them here to wash and dry. Yes, its expensive. We used the largest machines- 80lb machines- and it was $17 a wash load. Good news is, drying is only $1.50 each 16 minute cycle. But the peace of mind finally getting these items washed and in a clean establishment is most important. The staff member was super friendly and was seen cleaning them entire time we were there, probably a couple hours. $17 a cycle feels high, but if that's your one load for the week for 80lbs of laundry is sufficient for most people, and that cycle only takes 24 minutes then you're into the dryer. You can be in and out in an hour if you load your machines right. We went around 5p on a Sunday evening, and it wasn't busy at all. 2 other patrons. Then it picked up and during the time we were there most machines were in use. No 5th star because its hot and stuffy inside. Theres a standing fan to try to help, but its broken. Wish there was AC.

I use to go here because it was convenient (isn't that how we usually pick our men, uh - our cleaners?). Then one day, I came to pick up my beloved pink cashmere sweater. Because I wanted to wear it. The owner said that it was "misplaced"...probably at the factory, or someone had mistakenly picked it up. So for the next few weeks, I checked back periodically, until it was clear that someone in Oakland was walking around wearing my pink cashmere sweater. Someone other than I. Their "policy" restricted me to a $30 reinbursement. Which is $170 less than I bought it for. You do the math. You would think I would have learned, right? Ah...ever the glutton for punishment, I started using them again. Until I turned over two pairs of pants for hemming. They only needed slight modification and they were brand new, tags still attached. When I came back to pick them up, they had been altered a good 4" MORE than I had specified - and since the seamstress had cut-off the remaining material, there was no way to let the pants down to an even quasi-normal length. THEY HAD TURNED MY BRAND NEW SLACKS INTO PEDAL PUSHERS. The owner then proceeded to advise, with a straight face, that I just wear flats with them (?!). GREAT SUGGESTION Mr. Cleaners, that solves my problem straight away! I told him to eat it and that I wasn't going to pay and quite literally, stomped out of there with my too-short pants in tow. And there they sit in my closet, tags attached ever still, a perpetually painful reminder of my poor choice of dry-cleaners. And that was the end of my relationship with Ridgemont Cleaners.

We moved to the Oakland Hills from Alameda and I was used to going to a dry cleaner there. But I had a suit tailored there and they made the pants too short (we're talking high waters). Anyway, I really needed the pants for the suit back in a hurry, and the Alameda folks wouldn't do it in a hurry. So I remembered Ridgemont cleaners up the hill from our house. So I took them there and they did a fast turnaround on my trousers. They hemmed them just right with the right amount of break to them. Since then, I've brought in 3 pairs of pants and each time, they have altered them to my expectations and with a pretty good turnaround of a couple of days. Oh, and also, these guys are so much more cheaper than my previous cleaners for the two services I use a lot, dry cleaning and alterations. I highly recommend them.

There's some huge cracks/holes in the parking lot so part of it is lowkey inaccessible to park on. I wish they'd smooth out the lot and paint lines so people know how to park better.

When I first got there the guys asked for my phobe number and everything I had. Once he checked all my clothes he threw them in a basket on the floor, in ny head I was thinking, Oh God they're going to lose something. He printed me out a receipt and told me to come pick it up the next day. When I went to pick my clothes up the next day every thing was perfect! I gave him my ticket and he went to get my clothes. Everything was clean like new and I was really surprised. They even steamed my dresses. It was really crowded on the day I went to pick up my clothes tho. The lobby is really only big enough for two people so you have to stand outside until someone comes out. Overall its a good place!
