I stayed at the Hyatt Regency & since this restaurant is located in my hotel we found out that this restaurant is the original restaurant before it was the Hyatt Regency & glad they kept it! I ordered a few appetizers; gyoza, edamame, tempura, & sashimi. They have this; soy sauce, vinegar, fresh Serranos marinating altogether & used it on everything! Be sure to get a bowl of that for your sushi also, especially if you like spicy. All the desserts we ordered were excellent. If you roam around the restaurant, I highly recommend doing so, this place is massive & traditional ambiance is beautiful, I sure don't see anything like this in America but, in Japan. Anything you order you will not be disappointed. Enjoy!

I would've thought Mexico City had great food in general, but that wasn't the case. Was there for four days, ate many meals out and this was the only one I really enjoyed. Too bad the place was so hot and stuffy. It was cooler outside than it was inside. All they needed to do was open some windows. Service was great though.

It's in a trendy area and upscale although we came dressed mor casual. It's on the second floor and has amazing ambiance. We ordered the dynamite roll, crispy spicy tuna, truffle salmon, miso soups, caterpillar roll and tuna truffle roll. The truffle roll has to be one of the most amazing rolls I've ever eaten, if you like truffle of course. Everything else was amazing as well. The dynamite roll was great and I highly recommend literally everything we had. They also have great drinks, we had a mexcal maracuja drink and lychee martini as well as hot sake. For dessert we chose the tres leche cake and the truffle ice cream cream brûlée. If I say I have never tastes anything as amazing probably almost in my life as this truffle ice cream!! I know if we would have gone to a restaurant of this magnitude in the states it would have cost double of what we paid here. The service was excellent and Samuel and everyone was so attentive.

Wrong, the food was great, beautiful people seated everywhere and friendly, warm servers. Smoking was allowed in the restaurant. Not Masa, Nobu or Morimoto good, but could hold its own amongst most other well regarded Japanese restaurants. Glad we were able to find this so close to our Polanco hotel. They have a DJ and live performances by a saxophonist and the service was incredible! Everyone was friendly and made sure we had a great experience. However, the food was a bit of a miss for me. I did really enjoy the bread and various habanero sauces they start you with and the street corn but the other things we tried not so much. The flank steak lacked char and flavor. The potatoes weren't seasoned well, same for the asparagus. The drinks were very good however my waiter helped me find a wine to enjoy and my sister had a cute cocktail with mezcal. Go for vibes and great service but not the food.

The atmosphere was excellent, and while it's on the pricier side, that's to be expected given the upscale area. I ordered the Bife de Chorizo (New York steak). It arrived a little more undercooked than I prefer, but the service was exceptional. The waiter was attentive and proactively checked on the steak, quickly taking care of it without any hassle. The mashed potatoes that accompanied the meal were absolutely delicious. We also ordered the queso fundido, which did not disappoint, and the Old Fashioned was very well made. Between the quality of the food, the outstanding service, and the ambiance, I'd definitely recommend giving Dante Brasa a try if you're in Polanco.

We were also served a small plate of breads and sauces while we waited for our food. Dante is also in a beautiful neighborhood with a stunning ambience. The only heads up I'll give is that they actually allow smoking in part of this restaurant, and we didn't know that when we were offered a seat out on the terrace. So it was very unpleasant to be enjoying this food only to have someone smoking at the next table. So just be sure when you go (don't let this keep you from going, please!) you specify that if you're in the patio section you don't want to be near smokers. That aside, I will definitely return HUNGRY and will try their other delicious-looking dishes!
