Wow! I hadn't heard of Tori Grace Outfitters until I was wandering the Apple Fest this year. Her…read morestudio is just down the street from me (it's literally two or three blocks away), which makes me wonder what other gems are hiding within the industrial buildings in Ravenswood. First things first: Whilst she does have a studio at which you can shop (the address listed here), I don't think it keeps regular hours so you'll need to text or call to visit (number is also listed on this listing, or on her website). Alternatively, Tori Grace merchandise can be found at several shops in and around the suburbs, including Andersonville Galleria a few blocks away on Clark. You'll also find her at festivals and events throughout the city. The business began because she made some bows and headbands for her daughter, and it's certainly blossomed from there. Onesies, hats, coasters, t-shirts, hoodies, pillows... she's got a bit of everything. Most of it is Chicago-related, which makes for great souvenirs or gifts. I bought my Chicago baby a couple onesies (she's ready for her first Cubs game next season!), a hat for myself, and I was eyeing a couple of bolster-style pillows that I suspect I will own at some point. Prices are very reasonable and I love supporting a local business! At a local festival, I saw that she had her portable sewing machine out and was actually making additional items in between sales. If you're looking for gifts, items for yourself, or your dog (yes, she she has dog clothes!), you'll find some really great things at Toni Grace Outfitters.

Discrimination - This is a very important issue! Last Tuesday, November 7th- I had a "Pretty Woman"…read moremoment. Remember in the movie when Julia Roberts went to Rodeo Drive and they refused to sell her clothes? That just happened to me at this store. An intern who was working there refused to sell me a jacket and told me this was "out of your price range", and that "a girl can dream". She just would NOT stop insulting me about this jacket by @parka_ny that I can actually afford it! I texted the owner to complain and she said she will talk to me the next day to find out what happened. Didn't hear from her and on Thursday I texted to ask if she's still wanting to talk about the incident. I went to the showroom that Friday (already 3 days after this happened) and I was hoping they would at least apologize to me or discuss what happened, but instead they tried selling the jacket. I am sad, because they focused more on making money as opposed to doing the right thing. It is now Sunday - about 5 days from the incident and it gets worse! Clearly this company does NOT know how to apologize and handle this situation. Instead of apologizing so we could move on with the situation, the store owner has not only started patronizing me and harrassing me through text messages AND my work phone. And has also now resorted to trolling my Instagram friends. This has been going on ALL weekend. Let this be a lesson to business owners. We, your potential customers, are more than just your source of income. We are your biggest fans - when treated right, we advertise you for free and become your best ambassadors. And if not satisfied, can be your hardest critique. But as life goes, you need to learn in order to grow. If you're not willing to learn from your mistakes and swallow your pride, then you miss out on the opportunity to make your company bigger than it should be. And as always, treat EVERYONE with respect. In my life, I have been in both sides - rich and dirt poor. And I'm grateful to be in both sides because this has humbled me. No one should be judged for their apperance alone! If Zero stars existed, I would vote that for this store! FINAL EDIT: I am fully aware that this place is a showroom and fully aware that not all items are for sale. I went during a sample sale day. Why not just say, "I'm sorry, but this item is not for sale."? Could have left it at that, but to be subjected to insults for a couple of minutes and going on and on and the exact words being, "I'm sorry, but you can't afford that jacket! It is out of your price range. But you know, I can't afford it too. A girl could dream, right?!". Learn to approach someone and it's plain etiquette and good manners and don't treat people and be presumptuous about what they can and cannot afford. I walked into another store after that, and the sale person just said, "Sorry, ma'am - That's not for sale or part of the sample sale.". That. my dear, was the proper way to approach this situation. Manners matter. I'm sorry you have none.
