Didn't have to think about it - he always showed up and the pool was clean. There were plenty other issue that lead to us ending our relationship. Many were resolved with a phone call with Hal, but at the end of the day, there's a severe lack of communication with customers (esp. when it comes to raising prices) and back office support is suffering. We had requested a quote for a resurfacing project that we never received; wasting our time. Ultimately, I had asked questions about a bill that went unanswered. A few months later, I was re-sent the invoice with late charges. They were eventually reversed, but it was operational-type stuff like this that made them a pain to work with.

I am leaving this review because Paradise Pool LLC has not responded to my recent requests for…read morecommunication. Based on my experience, I found the company's pricing to be excessive and their service lacking transparency. During their visit, I was informed that a $5 plastic basket needed replacement which they charge $35; however, no mention was made of a leak in my pool heating system. When I later asked the technician to inspect the heating system issue, I was quoted $195 for a service call, despite the fact that he had been at my home just the day prior. Due to these concerns, I have decided to terminate their services and file a complaint with the Contractors State License Board (CSLB). I would not recommend this company based on my experience.

Do your homework as I now have. Take a sample of your water to Leslie. Then after Ryan finally was clear about that concern, he decided one morning to clean my filter without notice so he proceeded to ring my doorbell, bang on my door and ring the doorbell again to wake me up and "get permission" after waking me up. *Once cleaned my filter and charged full price after I replied to the notification email declining the service. Then left a mess of grey matter in our yard that took me days to clean up.

After contacting Pathfinder pools we were told they would come fix it later when it cools off (sometime in the fall of last year). This isn't an unusual event living in the North Scottsdale desert, what was unusual however was the the carnage - a half eaten rabbit floating next to a dead coyote. I'm thinking the coyote chased the little fucker into the pool, started gnawing on him and finally took the deep six. Our family was so disgusted we didn't know who to turn to, that is until a friend suggested we call Pathfinder Pools. A guy named Greg came out and within hours not only were the dead varmints gone, the pool was starting to clear up. Since that horrible event, we've had many other things wander into the pool, mostly snakes and lizards. One call to Pathfinder and problem solved. Within hours your pool will be clean and ready for your wife's pasty-white guests from Minnesota. Another time a large snake went for a swim in the pool. Had it been up to me, I'd have left the snake for the party we were having later that day, but my wife saw it and immediately called Pathfinder. I was hoping they'd be like other pool services and not show up, but within a couple hours, the owner came over and fished a six foot rattler out of our pool. He even helped me skin it and cut off its tail and rattles. I now have a cool headband on my cowboy hat and a rattle I use to scare people whenever we go camping. Thanks Pathfinder (Roger & Greg) for always being so prompt, even if it does mean I have to deal with my wife's amazingly stupid (and pasty white) friends from Minnesota. Their prices are amazing too.

We thought it was too far gone, but Mike managed to bring it back to clean swimable water. He also performed a badly needed filter cleaning (more than once) to assure the last of the dreaded Algae was gone. We moved to AZ in 2017 and kept with this service as the previous owners had used them. Since…read morethat time he raised his rates, and we continue to use them, paying on a monthly basis. Earlier this year, we had an issue with the pool that needed repair and I asked Zach (Owners son and our pool tech) to have his dad call me for the repair -- never got a call. I ended up fixing myself. In July my wife traveled home and we noticed that the pool basket was missing. I had her check and sure enough the secondary basket next to the filter motor was packed with debris, never checked and could have easily overheated the filter motor. I called Zach and asked him what had happened, and he replied that the pool basket had broken previously and that he did not a replacement with him, so he called Frank - his dad was called and asked him to deliver one but he like before, never showed up. Today I get a call from Frank indicating that at the end of August they are terminating our service without any notice whatsoever. That he had other customers that were paying more thus he needed to make room for them. Not even a quote to see if we would pay him more. No advanced notice - no complaints prior - just cancelled our service knowing full well we are snowbirds and he would be putting us in a bind . I tried to reason with him explaining the past issues we had, which he turned a deaf ear. Bottom line - as Mr. Murphy said, this guy is unreliable. We did nothing but pay our bills timely as invoiced and we get this from him. Would never recommend anyone use this company. What a disappointment.
