Was craving some soul food and decided to give this place a try. First off I wanted to mention that this restaurant has only been open for about 6 months so still fairly new. It's a family owned restaurant so you have to support! As far as the food goes it's one of the better soul food places in the Dearborn area. The fried catfish was the highlight of the meal and the sides were very tasty. You can tell they are all family owned recipes and cooked from the heart. I will say the prices are a bit high for the amount of food you get but during these hard times I won't complain. Make sure to order ahead as some items take a bit longer to make! Recommend stopping by though!

OMG! This is the absolute best soul food around. I got the dressing, greens, turkey and Mac and cheese. When I tell u that everything was seasoned to the Tee, cooked to perfection and fresh!!!! The customer service was equally on point. The young man was so patient and pleasant. My daughter got the salmon Alfredo and it was better than any Italian restaurant. Sorry, we started eating and then remembered to take pictures. When the turkey and Mac and cheese is seasoned to the Tee, u know it's good!! They can be pricey, but u do get quite a bit for your dollar and when it's good u don't mind the price. A must try!!!! The only thing missing was cranberry sauce.

For a decade Soulfood from a Alabama family restaurant. Started over a decade selling out they house and three years ago opened this location. Just passed the border of Lincoln Park in Detroit on Fort Street. This place be crazy busy non stop take out orders. We ate inside, no table service just order at take out window on your right once you enter. Really great Soulfood hard to find, Detroit has plenty of places. I was totally blown away by the Southern Cornmeal Catfish OMG with Yams and Loaded Mashed Taters, Real Cornmeal Cornbread for the Win. She had the Baked Chicken so juicy tender with Collard Greens and Mac absolutely Wonderful. A great big menu and daily specials posted on the Facebook page. This spot named in Detroit top ten of Black Owned restaurant's by The Hungry Blackman. Looking forward to many visits, them Ribs and Jerk Chicken looking so good in the photo I posted. @mooresoul.food #mooresoulfood #soulfood #catfish #bakedchicken #collardgreens #yams @thehungryblackman #detroitsoulfood #downriverfriendseat

Cajun chicken and shrimp alfredo from MOORE SOULFOOD in SW Detroit!

This restaurant is new to southwest Detroit and Dee-damn-licous, I gave it 4 stars because the the customer service from 2 of the younger ladies in there was not all that good, neither of them were personable or friendly and for a person who's big on customer service and for a business who needs "REPEAT BUSINESS" I'd advise Moore Soulfood to get some experienced workers to deal with the public!! Now, on to the food...it was good! My first visit, I ordered the fried chicken dinner and the pork chop dinner. Everything was hot and fresh and well seasoned, the sides included In both meals were mac&chz(very good), yams (perfectly sweet), green beans(excellent) and the collar greens (TOO SALTY BUT STILL GOOD), chicken wings were seasoned well( kinda small though and the pork chops were (perfect)!! Next day, I came back and ordered the "chicken and shrimp alfredo" with veggies and cajun seasoning (It was delicious but AGAIN, a little bit TOO SALTY) the total was $22.00 and some change for that meal but they give you ALOT! I had no silverware or napkjns in my bag and the customer service was dry again the SECOND DAY but all in all, I will go back but they need to work on customer service and the sodium balance in the greens and alfredo. *SORRY I DON'T HAVE PICS OF THE FRIED CHICKEN MEAL OR THE PORK CHOP MEAL** P.S. The alfredo should be on the menu EVERYDAY!!!! Fried Chicken meal w/two sides $16.00 Pork Chop meal(2 chops) w/two sides $16.00 Chicken and shrimp alfredo $22.00+ I ordered the collar greens on the side $3.50 (small size )

Amazing comfort food, huge portions. We had the Turkey dinner with peach cobbler, then we took a nap.

There was a 2 top table at the back that we were seated at - we could have sat at the bar also - and it was a great spot. We ordered the tasting menu and WOW, every course was amazing. I'll post pics because the presentation was gorgeous for each item. They have a small cocktail and wine and beer selection, but that was fine. My son got their Shrub Mocktail and I got the Shrub with Sake. Both were delicious and so interesting. I can't pick a favorite item because they were all so good, but the Torched Mackerel and Poached Bosc Pear were tied for #1, followed by the Salmon, Oysters and the crazy good Blood Orange dessert. The shrimp toast was just ok for me, not bad, just not as good as everything else. Additionally the service was outstanding. For a tiny place they did everything right. They explained each course, brought out fresh utensils for every course - YEA! - and made sure we had good pacing. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly and enhanced our meal. I really want to come back and try the oysters and some of the tinned items. I'm so excited I found Mink and will be back for sure.

For my birthday, my brother gave me a gift card to Mink, so we decided to ring in the new year by…read morefinally giving it a try--and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. As others have mentioned, seating is somewhat limited, but that only adds to the excellent service and intimate experience. I wish I remembered the names of our server and the manager because they were incredibly kind, accommodating, and helpful throughout the evening. One example of the thoughtful service: I was torn between two white wines, and since my partner ordered one of them, our server offered to bring a small sample of the other so I could compare and choose what I liked best. We also mentioned that we had never tried caviar before but didn't want to commit to a larger portion. They suggested a "bump" for $5 each, walked us through how to enjoy it properly (on the hand, letting it warm slightly), and made the experience feel fun and approachable. We were seated at the bar, which gave us the opportunity to chat more with the server and manager and watch the team prepare dishes for other tables. It genuinely felt like sitting at the chef's table. We both opted for the tasting menu, which changes from time to time, and we were very happy with the selection. We also added the lobster roll, and our server thoughtfully timed it so we could enjoy it alongside the warmer course. The meal began with two different oysters, one topped with caviar, giving us another chance to enjoy it. Next was the shrimp cocktail, which included wasabi--but not in an overpowering way. The flavor was present yet balanced, allowing everything else to shine. The escargot course was especially creative and delicious, paired with basil oil, pepper jelly, and hints of balsamic. While it might sound unusual, the flavors blended beautifully. I expected the pepper jelly to dominate, but it was surprisingly subtle. Next was the potato pavé served with a scallop. The textures were remarkably similar, and the scallop was cooked perfectly. The lobster roll was very good, though I personally found the bread a bit denser than I prefer--I usually like a more buttery, Texas-toast style--but my partner loved it. The turbot followed, accompanied by a chestnut beurre blanc that was incredibly silky and flavorful. It paired wonderfully with the king trumpet mushrooms, black truffle and the fish. The final tasting course was the petit fours: three small cakes--matcha, red velvet, and ginger molasses. They were slightly dense, but still a nice way to end the meal. We also added the house-made basil ice cream (because the basil oil earlier was so good), and that was an excellent decision. Although my birthday had been a few months earlier, once the staff heard we were using a birthday gift card, they surprised me with vanilla ice cream, sprinkles, and a candle--such a thoughtful and unexpected touch. They also treated us to a small glass of dessert wine. By the end of the night, we knew we had found our new favorite place to celebrate. The overall experience is absolutely worth the price point, and I only wish more places were like Mink. We can't wait to return.
