If The staff is friendly, place is clean and food is bomb, it always gets a 5 star from me. Cause that's all I care about really. (Wait staff and environment is reserved for special occasions imo). For Moore Soulfood we ordered take out and We ate in our car but there are tables for eat in if thats what you like. Today was a visit to Detroit to see my daughter. We were craving some Home Cooking and found it here. Lots of small mom and pops around but we chose this one because they had a review already and were open. Menu looks very good. I got the smothered Pork chops , mac n cheese and collards. My son got fried catfish mac n cheese and loaded mash potatoes with cornbread. We decided to splurge and got peach cobbler and banana pudding, our total bill was $50. Seems like a lot but hey we are in Michigan ‍ and wth, Im cravin soul so its's worth it. I'm posting pictures below. I've got to tell you I mean this is some of the best stuff I have ever had. It just brought back memories for me. I devoured one of the pork chops, about a third of my macaroni and cheese and half of my collards and I was stuffed , I took a bite of the both desserts. They were very good. The peach cobbler was not served warm which is fine cause we can always take it back and heat it up and put a dollop of ice cream on it but just to let you know in case you wanna ask them to heat it up. 2 things before I start. 1. Mr. Chime Time sent me here. 2. I was having a horrible day before this. This was supposed to be comfort food. It was. Idk if y'all switched the Corn bread up but Chime Time ain't like it. The devil is a liar. Corn bread was fire, and usually Corn Bread be weak at Soul Food spots. I got the Smothered Porchops with Mac and Fully loaded mash. My girl got the Fried Salmon with the same sides. (She wanna be like me so bad) Smothered Porchops, 10. Gravy was a monster. Mac was a strong 8. Mash was a good 9. Her Fried Salmon was also a 10 and that sauce y'all throw on the side made that shit even better. Was craving some soul food and decided to give this place a try. First off I wanted to mention that this restaurant has only been open for about 6 months so still fairly new. It's a family owned restaurant so you have to support! As far as the food goes it's one of the better soul food places in the Dearborn area. The fried catfish was the highlight of the meal and the sides were very tasty. You can tell they are all family owned recipes and cooked from the heart. I will say the prices are a bit high for the amount of food you get but during these hard times I won't complain. Make sure to order ahead as some items take a bit longer to make! This food was SPECTACULAR! Piping hot, Seasoned and cooked to perfection! We had Turkey and Dressing, mac, yams, black eyed peas, greens and cobbler, and EVERYTHING WAS . We got takeout, and we didn't even make it off the premises. We ate right where we parked. Service was good. Friendly staff, and the dining area was clean. OMG! This is the absolute best soul food around. I got the dressing, greens, turkey and Mac and cheese. When I tell u that everything was seasoned to the Tee, cooked to perfection and fresh!!!! The customer service was equally on point. The young man was so patient and pleasant. My daughter got the salmon Alfredo and it was better than any Italian restaurant. Sorry, we started eating and then remembered to take pictures. When the turkey and Mac and cheese is seasoned to the Tee, u know it's good!! Food is a 5, but the attitude of the staff is a 0. We were there from out of town. I have a mother in her 60s and a 13 year old who needed to use the restroom (our hotel was in Canada so we had a drive). The lady ringing us out said the restroom was out of order. My mother went anyway to look and it was not out of order at all but smelled like weed. What kind of dine in restaurant dues not let patrons use the restroom and lies? It was dark out and the gas station nearby did have restrooms open to the public either. What a disappointment! read more

For a decade Soulfood from a Alabama family restaurant. Started over a decade selling out they house and three years ago opened this location. Just passed the border of Lincoln Park in Detroit on Fort Street. This place be crazy busy non stop take out orders. We ate inside, no table service just order at take out window on your right once you enter. Really great Soulfood hard to find, Detroit has plenty of places. I was totally blown away by the Southern Cornmeal Catfish OMG with Yams and Loaded Mashed Taters, Real Cornmeal Cornbread for the Win. She had the Baked Chicken so juicy tender with Collard Greens and Mac absolutely Wonderful. A great big menu and daily specials posted on the Facebook page. Ordered fried chix with Mac n Cheese and greens, lamb chops, dressing and candy yams. I called and they only side they make with pork is the cabbage The chicken was sooo good. Nice to get chicken downriver that has flavor. My husband said the lamb chops may be the best he ever had. Not chewy at all. The candy yams were amazing I'd definitely order again. This restaurant is new to southwest Detroit and Dee-damn-licous, I gave it 4 stars because the the customer service from 2 of the younger ladies in there was not all that good, neither of them were personable or friendly and for a person who's big on customer service and for a business who needs "REPEAT BUSINESS" I'd advise Moore Soulfood to get some experienced workers to deal with the public!! Now, on to the food...it was good! My first visit, I ordered the fried chicken dinner and the pork chop dinner. Everything was hot and fresh and well seasoned, the sides included In both meals were mac&chz(very good), yams (perfectly sweet), green beans(excellent) and the collar greens (TOO SALTY BUT STILL GOOD), chicken wings were seasoned well( kinda small though and the pork chops were (perfect)!! Next day, I came back and ordered the "chicken and shrimp alfredo" with veggies and cajun seasoning (It was delicious but AGAIN, a little bit TOO SALTY) the total was $22.00 and some change for that meal but they give you ALOT! I had no silverware or napkjns in my bag and the customer service was dry again the SECOND DAY but all in all, I will go back but they need to work on customer service and the sodium balance in the greens and alfredo. *SORRY I DON'T HAVE PICS OF THE FRIED CHICKEN MEAL OR THE PORK CHOP MEAL** P.S. Horrible beef short rib SALTY AND TASTELESS . I don't know why it took so long to prepare an came out like that . I tried to eat it but it reminded me of a roast. Just bland. And it was huge piece of meat. Like abnormally large. With brown gravy thrown on top the meat was tender but it seemed to have been boiled all day They didn't have any greens. And they didn't have any yams the macaroni was horrible and it wasn't seasoned, the cheese was super dry an so were my noodles.I had to get the green beans instead of greens and those green beans saved the plate honestly it was Super Salty so I mixed all the components on my plate together I guess the saltiness of the meat cooked inside the canned beans packed tons of saltiness flavor I guess .
