I had a small siding repair job needed done. I am too old to go up ladders like I did when I was younger. A friend referred me to Moore. I was concerned because I knew my project was not a big job for them (small profit:) but they made me feel important. They returned every call promptly, They showed up when they said they would. They did a high quality repair on my house. It was so nice to work with a company that was that professional. So many companies these days find it easy to blow you off, not communicate well etc. Well, not Moore... they were great. and they are very appreciate day this customer. read more

I'm writing this 2 years after we hired them to re-seal our condo building roof. The work was great, and the proof is 2 years later, no issues so far, and the roof still looks great. After the first job, they came out to reseal around skylights to make sure the work was done properly. Since then, we've had them out twice to double check potential leak issues (very easy to get scheduled), but the issues turned out to be due to an AC pipe issue--not the roof. Marco is very friendly, professional, and thorough. He told me how to fix the pipe issue, but then went ahead and fix it himself with his own supplies for no charge. Quality company. read more

I first used Moore construction 5 years ago and agreed with the glowing reviews so, they were the first I called when I needed additional work done. A rep came out, took one look at my very high pitched roof and said he wanted nothing to do with it despite, the fact that they had worked on it before. Ok. I get it. There are easier ways to make money. The gutters they previously installed are damaged and rep said they may be under warranty, I'll check for you. I also need a new roof on garage. Rep said Mr Moore would call me. After two weeks, I left a message and another after that. No one ever contacted me. Very disappointing and a waste of everyone's time. read more

Moore Construction has just one negative review, and it's from someone who says they never got a response after requesting a quote. Everyone else -- everyone who has used MC -- praises their work. The reason why is that Michael Moore is upstanding and organized, and he runs his company well. He came out to do an estimate for replacing the gutters on our home about two years ago, and we called him back this year for roofing estimates for our garage and house. He gave us very knowledgeable advice in both cases, and he really just strikes me as unusually honest. He told us about things that could be discovered while working that would change the price and the plan, and he offered advice about reducing cost. He also told us the garage needed to be done, but that the house roof was decent and could wait. I have dealt with probably a dozen contractors in the two years since we bought this house. It's a part time job that I don't get paid for--and don't like because many are a total pain who charge too much, don't do what they say they will, don't do it well, don't tell you they are late or not coming, don't don't don't. Not Moore Construction. Their work is excellent and reasonably priced. They communicate about delays (which were minimal), and they cleaned up the job site. I will use them for every single thing they do until I sell this house or Michael Moore stops owning the company, whichever comes first. read more

We recently had Moore Construction replace our garage roof and they did a stellar job. Our roof was quite old and had holes, a big job for a garage. They replaced it in one day, and left the yard and area around the garage spotless. The Moore roofer team were nice guys and super efficient. We highly recommend Moore Construction. Moore construction replaced our roof. When we were having issues this fall they came right out to assess and told us we would get a quote. We have now been calling their front desk for over 4 months and every time are told "we will call you back". I do not recommend this company if you are looking for responsiveness. read more

I'm guessing you're not a valued customer unless it's very large job. Moore came to my home to perform an estimate for a partial roof repair and full gutter repair. That appointment was on time, very friendly and I was looking forward to working with Moore. He mentioned someone would get back to me next week, but I simply never heard back form them. Within the next month I had called Moore's offices twice asking about my quote. After apologies for the delay I was finally promised I would get my quote the next business day. Nothing. The women at the office were friendly but the contractors should have the simple decency to follow up. read more

Without batting an eye they gave me a quote on the garage, we agreed, and work began immediately. Moore came recommended from a neighbor. I scheduled an appointment to have someone come out and fix a leaky roof. They said someone had to come out and quote first. Real nice guy came to take a look at my roof and then said I would receive a quote within a week. After a week and a half I called and emailed to check on the quote. No response. I called and emailed again a couple days later. No response. The following week I tried calling once more and left another message. Ultimately, I am reading between the lines... they really only came out as a way to qualify me to see if I needed a new roof. When they saw I had another 15 years on it then they really had no interest in me anymore and simply lied about sending me a quote to fix my roof. So here I sat waiting for this quote for two and a half weeks and turns out this company that I looked forward to working with instead had every intention on just blowing me off. Couldn't do the big professional adult and respectful thing by letting me know right away that they weren't interested and then I could have moved on to finding someone else instead of sitting around with a leaky roof for a wasted two and a half weeks. I see other complaints on here about this. So, keep this in mind if you plan on calling for something like a repair instead of a new roof. I would call around instead. read more

Moore recently completed a major roof tear off and replacement plus inlaid gutter repair on my home in Rogers Park and I have only 5 star plus reviews for Moore *****. I have renovated several vintage homes and Moore is one of the top contractors I have ever worked with. Site workers have an amazing pride of workmanship and their finished product and advice on your structure and project are extraordinary. Scheduling, communication and everything with the project was light years above most contractors. Highly recommend and thank you Moore! read more

Simply put: professionals. I've had issues with 1 contractor recently but Michael and his crew are top notch. I had several bids for gutter work on our house. Most took several weeks, some were incorrect, and some didn't show up. Theirs came in a professional folder detailing what their company can do. We added some additional work and Joan from the office called and emailed me consistently. The work done is excellent. We've already had 3-4 major rain storms and they have remedied my problem. His crew asked me a ton of questions to reassure the work we were doing. They cleaned up their work and worked diligently the entire day. read more

Requested a quote on the website based on the reviews on Angie's List for gutters for my garage. Never got a response.

These guys are a FIND! I wish they offered more services! We had several quotes from different roofing companies of various sizes to come out and fix several patches on our roof and to seal a flat room that we had over a covered porch-type structure. While they weren't the cheapest of the quotes, they also weren't the most expensive, and I just had a good feeling about Michael after he had come out to take a look. When I saw on their truck that they did gutters too, I also got a quote on that, since our gutters were in such bad shape (like, really, really, really, bad). They must be very busy because we had to be scheduled out more than a month in advance, which is ok by me. They also pulled all the permits necessary (and since we live in a historic district of Oak Park, the permitting was a bit more involved). The crew showed up promptly (actually, a bit early, which I appreciate) and got to work. They did a FANTASTIC job replacing parts of the roof, sealing the flat roof AND replacing all the gutters and some rotted fascia board. Very efficient, very polite. They arrived at 8;30a and they were done by 3:30p--I was impressed. When they asked us to come out to inspect the work, the yard looked like nobody had even been there. Every last nail was picked up and it was immaculate. There are no hard-core sales tactics and honestly, I haven't seen the bill yet. Micheal told me they would send it off to me the day after the work. They accept credit card and check. I'm just happy we found them. We have had many kinds of contractors in and out of our 110 year old house and these guys have by far been the most professional, hard-working and they just do plain GOOD WORK! read more

I had Moore Construction fix flat part of my roof and replace all the gutters and downspouts. The job was fairly priced. The estimate was very timely but I had to wait a few weeks for the work to begin. It was not an emergency though. The crew showed up on time, were very professional and did a thorough cleanup afterwards. Since I was not about to climb up on my roof I appreciated the before and after photos they emailed me. If I ever need more work done, I will definitely consider hiring them again. read more

Moore Construction just did our gutters and downspouts and they did an excellent job! Michael is very relaxed and knowledgeable. Everything was very clearly spelled out in his quote. His crew worked quickly and were very accommodating - they took special care to preserve a flowering vine that was wrapped around our old downspout. Clean up was great too. I had Moore Construction come out to do some new gutter for our front porch. Thier estimate was 50% cheaper than other services we talked to who were Angie's list companies as well. I up hired them and have been very pleased with the work. They sent a foreman out to the job to confirm details with me, and showed up promptly to do the work as scheduled. We have a vintage circa 1898 and require appropriate period gutters for the house, 1/2 rounds. No problem for Moore. The crew worked quickly and efficiently completing the work. The crew cleaned up the site afterwards and I have no complaints. I liked their service so much we are hiring them for another job and would recommend them without hesitation. read more

Had Moore Construction replace the gutters, soffits and fascia as well as a small section of roofing shingles and the aluminum vents on my house in Berwyn. They were priced competitively and the owner who came out to look at the house was great to talk to. He was straight forward and easy to work with. I received the quote via email which was very convenient. They were able to start when I wanted them to and were on time every day. They completed to entire job when they said they would and they cleaned up everything after they were done. We've had a few heavy rainfalls since the install and everything held up perfectly. I would definitely hire them again. I will be calling on them for quotes for the garage and my parents' house. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a quality job done for a competitive price with quick turnaround time. We needed our roofing replaced so we contacted our Home Owner's Insurance Agent and asked for references-Moore Construction was the company given. Louis came out mid summer to take a look & was extremely professional & kind-shortly thereafter we received a very professionally prepared and detailed folder with the company's history and estimate along with the contracts. From that initial visit I knew that this was the company that we would hire to do our job. The roofers were on time, friendly, worked hard and were very professional-job well done, great clean-up. We were so impressed with the work that we had them back again this spring to install soffits and replace some very old and worn gutters, again, they did not disappoint-the walk arounds are helpful post job to allow the homeowner to inspect and clarify areas of concern. Because of my gardens I needed them to come out early before the bulbs started pushing up-they were very respectful of my bulbs and shrubs. It is refreshing to know that they are a local company On a couple of occasions I have visited the office and the office staff; Joan, Nancy, etc are equally as nice. Having recently purchased a house, I needed an expert opinion of the roof which is fairly old. Moore Construction was very honest about what I shouldn't waste my money on! They mainly did flashing repair at this point. They gave me great advice, were friendly and punctual, and did a fantastic job. The supervisor came out a couple times to see how things were going, which I thought was great considering it was such a small job. The owner even called to confirm a question. An exceptional experience. Michael was thorough, patient, priced competitively and has an excellent crew. They did a tear off, made significant repairs, added skylights, replaced siding and gutters. They were receptive to changes and adjustments on the fly -- and they left the property spotless not just at the end of the job, but at the end of each day as well. The crew was extremely pleasant and accommodating. I jokingly asked if they could hammer more quietly, and he said he would try. I had Moore Construction do a roof replacement several years ago, and they were fine. But, I called for an estimate for them to repair some storm damage to my gutters, downspouts, and gutter guards, on April 16, 2015. They scheduled Lewis to come out and take a look on April 21, 2015. I didn't hear anything after that, so I called them on April 22, 2015 to find out what the cost would be. They said they were really busy, so I'd have the estimate by the next Friday (May 1, 2015). Fine. So I waited. No contact from them after May 1, 2015. I called them back on May 5, 2015. They said they'd "research" where the estimate was. It's now May 12, 2015, and I've heard nothing from them. Very disappointing. I won't be calling Moore Construction again for any job, big or small. If they weren't interested in this job, I just wish they would have told me at the outset, instead of stringing me along and wasting so much time. read more
