I have to say that I really like going to Salewsky's Jewelry, located right in the heart of…read moredowntown Centralia. There are not a lot of options in Centralia or Chehalis when it comes to locally owned, specialized jewelers. Centralia has a very talented one, though, in Salewsky's. I have taken my watches there a number of times to either fix/repair/replace the band or replace batteries and have no complaints. It's family-owned and the husband/wife that own the shop along with the son are all very friendly, knowledgeable, and caring. Every time I've been there, they have taken the time to listen to what I needed and asked any questions they might have. Once I was there when a young couple was working with the son on selecting either an engagement ring or wedding rings (I couldn't tell and I didn't want to eavesdrop too much). The son was very helpful in their search - giving lots of samples and choices for them along the way. When you walk in you can tell that they take much pride in their store and the items for sale. They have a pretty good sized selection of nearly everything (watches, earrings, bracelets, rings, etc.). I'm a sucker for watches and their selection is envious, especially their pocket watches - which I have always loved! They also have walk clocks and other knick-knack type items. What they have a great selection of, and what I feel they specialize in, is their antique jewelry. It's beautiful. All types of the jewelry that I listed above are included in the offerings of antiques. I am in no way an expert on jewelry values and prices - and especially when I comes to antiques, so I can't attest to their prices; but their "for sale" items seem to be a wee bit on the high side of the market. Their services when it comes to batteries and fixes are very reasonable, though. The owner even repaired one of the bands for free when I mentioned that it was first repaired just a few weeks prior. All in all, I do like going to Salewsky's Jewelry and recommend it as a place to get things repaired and shop for something new (or antiqued). :-)

I should have turned around then. My Older Grandmother clock had not been oiled or checked in years so a friend recommended this place. The rude owner was far more interested in chatting with her than what I had to say. I have had the clock back several months and still must adjust the time each week to keep it current. I did not have to do this before. The place smells of mold, there are a GREAT many items on display and none of them are priced. When I asked about prices he said "what item". I asked him to look at my fathers gold watch to see it's value and he said it not worth anything. Well, just the gold case is worth something. He said it was not gold but when I asked him to test it he learned that it was indeed gold. I would not trust this fellow again nor recommend him. There MUST be better places than this.

Holy Cow! What a bunch of stuff there is in this store!…read more As anyone that has frequented or passed through downtown Centralia, you know that there is no shortage of antique shops. There are some good ones and there are some poor ones. Timeless Treasures is on the above average side of the fence. To be perfectly honest, there is SOOO much stuff in this shop that it can be overwhelming to browse. For me, it was that and I got a wee bit discombobulated by the sheer amount of product that they have. Now ... that's not to say that it isn't worth going to or isn't worth searching around; it's just that there is a lot to look through. Unfortunately, it is not very well organized and is extremely cluttered. When I have more time to look around and see what I can see, I will come back and take my time going through the aisles and shelves and tables. One display, up front, that I was particularly interested in (and I have a picture included to show part of it) was the baseball card collection and binder! Growing up, I collected hundreds of baseball cards and loved looking through them and memorizing the stats of my favorite players. Their ginormous binder of cards brought back many fond memories for me!! :-) With owners/managers that are extremely friendly & kind and prices that are reasonable & fair, I do recommend Timeless Treasures to anyone that has time to look through their stock and an eye for that "treasure" that strikes your fancy! I'll be back ... you should too!

Clutter, clutter, everywhere...but in a good way (mostly). Problem is, there's almost too much…read morestuff to make the browsing experience useful. If you've come for something specific, find the appropriate pile/section and dig in! If you just came to look, you're gonna be here a while! We were barely acknowledged as we wandered through the labyrinthine collection, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, as we didn't come in with anything in mind. Most objects were clearly labeled with a price, although I struggled to find tags on some of the books I was perusing in the upstairs area, which could be better organized, honestly; I found a few semi-intriguing titles scattered throughout, but they were not grouped together in any meaningful way, as far as I could tell, turning the whole process into a scavenger hunt. All that being said, this is probably the most exhaustive collection of antiques (sans furniture) in Centralia, so if you're up for excavating your way through layers of yesteryear's treasures, this is your best bet in the area!

However, we ultimately were not…read morecomfortable purchasing here due to a very limited & Boeing selection and extreme lack of detailed diamond knowledge. The store primarily carries lab-grown diamonds, mostly in the VS2 clarity range, typically 1-3 carat solitaire styles. We were told VS2 is considered "very high quality," but there were no diamonds available above VS1 clarity (lab or natural). The natural diamond selection was especially minimal. When we asked more in-depth questions about cut quality, fluorescence, and depth ratio, all factors that impact how a diamond presents and sparkles, the responses were vague and at times inaccurate. We were told that cut quality and fluorescence don't really affect how a diamond sparkles in the sun, which is not correct. When I mentioned depth, the associate quickly changed the subject & seamed to have no knowledge of this or its importance. I also asked to compare diamonds with and without fluorescence to see if I could personally notice a difference, since fluorescence can affect pricing. The associate said the information should be in the paperwork but never pulled documentation for the diamond we were considering. That lack of voluntary transparency raised concerns for us. It felt as though either the staff was not trained in deeper grading details or the information simply wasn't being shared. Either way, when you're making a significant purchase, full grading transparency matters. I'm interested in an emerald cut tri-stone ring with a natural center diamond. I wasn't expecting them to have any emerald tri-stone inventory, but there was only one tri-stone option in the store, and the three stones were nearly the same size, which didn't give the tri-stone look you normally see. Most inventory leaned heavily toward trendy, mainstream lab-grown solitaire styles. To their credit, they did have a good range of carat sizes available in lab-grown solitaires, which allowed me to compare proportions easily on my finger. They also had emerald cuts in different sizes, which was helpful for visualization. The lab-grown diamonds we viewed (around 1-2ish carats, E-H color, VS2 clarity) were priced around $3-$4k give or take, which seemed generally aligned with market pricing based on what info they were willing to disclose. The associate then showed us a .6 natural solitaire that was around H/I in color & SI2/3 clarity and said this was still a high quality diamond! Inclusions were clearly visible w/out microscope & it was clearly cloudy/milky, and then she said you couldn't see any inclusions..it felt very gas-lighty. I would strongly encourage buyers to carefully review grading paperwork for cut metrics, depth %, fluorescence, & overall proportions before committing, & if you don't know what these are, EDUCATE yourself so you're not tricked! We understand that what I want will likely need to be custom ordered, and my BF is prepared to work with a jeweler to source stones and design a ring. However, we're looking for someone who can confidently explain how clarity, color, cut, depth, and fluorescence impact both appearance and price. Overall, this may be a suitable option if you're looking for a mid-to-low-range lab-grown solitaire and aren't concerned with deeper grading metrics. For us, it served as a somewhat helpful try-on experience but not the right fit for a higher-end or custom diamond purchase. Because the staff was polite and gave us their time, I am giving 2 stars, but we will be purchasing elsewhere and will not work with them in the future.
