Middle of the road 3 star. Moon's Mongolian Grill is fine place to eat; however, don't go there if you are seeking a great dining experience. Moon's is kinda, well, eh.... We went at 7 pm on a Sunday night; the restaurant was less than 20% full. - The Mongolian grill experience was fine. There was a nice selection of meats and vegetables. Nothing great, just what you expect. Most items were fresh-ish, kinda; it was all edible, but not really that great looking, not bad though. The choices of flavors and oils weren't bad, I have seen more at other places. The chef on the grill did a good job, but lacked any sort of personality. Overall the food quality and choice wasn't bad. - The overall restaurant was kinda dirty, not bad, just needed cleaning after a dinner service. The food bar was a bit messy, not bad. - The atmosphere is dated, a bit worn, not bad. - The prices were fair, about what you expect to pay. My overall experience was fine. Moon's could do so much more to make itself so much more appealing. I wish that my review was more specific, but Moon's left me, well, kinda stuck in the middle. This was my third visit. Will I return? I haven't decided. Moon's is fine, but I don't want to spend money on a place that is just fine and not good or great. read more

We went to get "to go" so we could relax at home. We were told we could only get one bowl each for 17.95! For a bowl of food! Absolutely ridiculous!!! The food is only average to begin with. Very disappointing. read more

The food here is pretty good as long as you don't mind food a little on the plain/bland side. It's all you can eat and the price is pretty good as long as you go before their dinner hours ($10-11 during their lunch session). After their lunch session ends (3 or 4pm I think), the price increases to $15-16 which really isn't worth it in my opinion. read more

IMO this is one of your better Mongolian Grills on Spokane. The prices are very reasonable and they have a great lunch selection that differs from the others. Moon's is the only place that has Bok Choy. The service is very friendly and attentive. They also have a full service lounge if you want to do a little day drinking. read more

This is my all-time favorite place to eat. I have to eat here everytime I am in town. The selection of meats and veggies is great. I love how you can prepare your sauces yourself and make it as spicy as you would like. The service there is good. I have never had a bad server while there. I visited here years ago and I really didn't care for it. Today I decided to give it another try and I really liked it. The meat and vegetables are very fresh as well as the choice of sauces. My only criticisms might be with regards to the decor of the place. It could use a remodel, but that can be overlooked as long as the place is kept clean. It seems they are doing a much better job now then they did years ago. I do wish however that there beverage glasses were larger. They are pretty small and it seems almost impossible for one waitress to keep everyone's drinks filled. read more

I love veggies but I shouldn't be served quartered cut tomatoes, green onion or broccoli. Plus, it needs a good cleaning, deep clean and touched up walls. I tried this place for the first time a couple months ago. I wasn't impressed. The food was passable but the restaurant was dirty and we had to request clean glasses and silverware because there was food stuck to them. The staff was unfriendly and unkempt. I have been to multiple Mongolian grills over the years and this was the worst. Apathetic wait staff who seem to be wandering around. When my wife and I got our food she had shrimp that came out raw and vegetables that were still cold and the sauce was way too salty. When we told the wait staff about the raw shrimp they did nothing about it. No words of apology or anything. I was looking for a spicy meal and despite following their instructions my meal had no spice. There is a reason why they are not very busy at dinner time on a Saturday. read more

Though if you are gluten free and like soy sauce I would recommend bringing your own (they didn't have gf soy sauce when I was there) but have many other options for gluten free sauces. read more

Moon's is right next door to my work so I figured I give it a try. It was a-ok. Nothing to write home about, can't imagine myself going back unless they get about $3 cheaper. Absolutely no tofu. :( As a vegetarian that had been on the road for 5 days (and staying 2 nights with non-veg friends), I was looking for some good tofu protein to put some pep back in my step. We have enjoyed this restaurant in the past (several years ago) and ate there tonight. The only reason I give this review two stars is that the food was "OK." The rest of the experience was simply stomach turning as the table, the floor, the entrance sidewalk and every window was nothing short of filthy. The windows looked like someone had intentionally wiped them with a greasy towel and as the sun shown through them, you could see every time the towel touched the glass and every direction of every wipe. The grill was black with burned grease and when the food was hot, he wiped the food onto your plate leaving the bottom layer on the grill rather than wipe the black residue onto your plate. Their meats and produce for the Mongolian bbq are fresh and varied, I was very happy about this. However I found their sauces to be bland, since I like to make mine very spicy I found this disappointing. While the staff was attentive (refilling drinks, keeping the restaurant clean and stocked) they didn't seem very friendly. This is a decent restaurant. My favorite is the all-you-can-eat buffet. The grill cooks do a fantastic job: food is completely cooked and the char they put on to the food gives it a great flavor. My only gripe with the restaurant is that I feel I get ripped with the amount of white rice that is given. read more

I don't know why the average rating of this place is so low. What reviewers need to stop doing is comparing every restaurant they eat at to some High Caliber Cuisine place. You need to rate them as what they are, and for what it is Mongolian Grill is best at it. The choices are abundant and the prices are fair. The servers can be a little too disinterested at times but they are great at keeping your beverages topped off. Aside from the place being relatively dungeon-like in atmosphere, the food is tasty. Again, judge this place for what it is, which was never meant to be "Fine Dining." I feel like, pathetically so, a lot of these reviewers are the kind that gave a Burger King a bad review because it didn't have a Maitre D and the Cashier lacked a french accent. read more

Not good. I live probably 5min from Moons, but I will gladly drive the 20min out to HuHot in Spokane Valley when I want a Mongolian Grill. The selection of ingredients, as well as the sauce choices, are very small when compared to HuHot. I think there were only 5 or so different sauces to choose from. And it's not any cheaper either, so it's not like you get a break that way. For my money, skip Moons and make the drive to HuHot. read more

I had been going here ones every month or so for take-away, I was told to fill one bowl as much as I could since you can only use one bowl. I have been doing this each time I go over the past year. Usually the cook would "loose" some of my food off the edge of the grill but today I did my usual very full bowl and the cook, instead of loosing part of my meal he simply cooked it and then told me not to come back. Now if I was taking "too much" for my to go order they could have charged me for 2 or asked me to take less, this was both rude and contradictory since I was TOLD to take as much as I could fit in one bowl. The food is good but the service is lacking and I feel incredibly insulted and cant recommend a place that treats people like this. Poor service is not worth the food. The only nice people there are the waiters that seat you. So if you do go, don't take to much in your 1 bowl when you order to go or they may tell you not to come back! read more

My husband, daughter, and I went to check this place out around 8pm a couple nights ago. Let me tell you first it is waaay better than Mongolian bbq and they do not water anything down, the sauce you add is what you add. for my husband and I it was 13.95 each for the all you can eat buffet and my daughter being 4 was only 4.00. they had a good selection of meats, fish, and noodles but it would be nice to see more greens (kale, spinach....). we added our sauces but it was limited as to what they had and we had to ask our cook I we could add the teriyaki sauce to our plates. The cook also adds the peanut sauce, plum sauce, garlic butter etc... but of course you have to request it. I liked my meal it was good but not great, I was excited to see that they had chili oil that you could add to your meal but after I added five scoops to my dish it was not spicy at all just a plate full of oil. I wanted to take the extra I had in my plate home but you are not allowed to take anything home if you pay for the all you can eat buffet. I was pretty upset though that it took us a while to get our waters and soda, mainly because the waitress was behind the cash register talking on her cell phone, when she saw me looking at her she ducked down under the desk so that she could finish her call. read more

So first of all the staff we're amazing, kind and everything you could hope for. Food was also fresh. But I was bummed that I was not allowed to eat my food in the restaurant! I can never finish the bowl and so I would prefer to buy one bowl and bring the remainder of my food home versus an all you can eat. It frustrated me having to go out to my car and eat my lunch because I did not select the all you can eat option. In addition all but one sauce came from a jug. It sucked having to go home and make my own spicy Mongolian sauce just to enjoy my stirfry. I love Mongolian Grill's, and we had just moved over from the west side. I was excited to find a new lunch spot. I am bummed out with my experience. The only reason I am writing this review is hopefully the owners will see it and make some changes, because as of now my search continues for a good Mongolian Grill! We have recently moved here from the Seattle area and have many Mongolian grills to choose from. We were really anxious to try one in Spokane. Being used to a high standered of quality we were very surprised at the lack of selection at Moon's Grill . Soup did not come with the price which was 13.95 plus drinks for an adult,more than we have ever paid in Seattle.No rice wraps even available. Sauces were watery, vegetable selection was so ordinary,nothing I don't use at home.Meat was tough and drinks were served in small water glasses.They also have a sign at the beginning to take only one bowl at a time. We like to put meat in one bowl with sauces and marinate the meat and veggies in another with different sauces. Also we chose the fried rice which was Rice A Roni with a very heavy black pepper flavor.Total price was over $34.00 and only a fortune cookie at the end,we have always had ice cream and cookies served with the dinner.We plan on trying the other grill in the valley,but the reviews sound like there are problems there too!
