The thoughtful touches didn't stop there: Dessert bar each evening, 24-hour access to coffee, tea, cider, hot cocoa, ice, and ice water made us feel right at home. While the rooms weren't huge, they were very comfortable, (and well equipped with anything we could need) and the well-designed common spaces more than made up for it. We especially loved enjoying dinner on the deck each evening--it was the perfect spot to relax and make memories. High praise to the owners for creating such a warm, well-run retreat. They do not seem to view their place as a business, but rather a home that has accomodation. Not exactly a welcoming attitude. A few days after they checked out, the proprietor contacted them to say they were not welcome because one of the guests had "bled" on the sheets. Sorry but this is something that any hotelier should expect. I for one will never stay here.

We particularly enjoyed sitting around the fireplace and eating dinner in the upstairs suite. The upstairs suite is HUGE and could fit a whole family all on its own. It doesn't come with breakfast though, so be forewarned! I stayed in the nautical room with a half bath and two twin beds. It was perfect for me and I slept well. I was a bit jealous of my co-worker in the quilt room because he had a jacuzzi! Unfortunately, the hostess Sandy was called away for an emergency, so we never got to meet her. She had a friend step in to help check us in and make us breakfast. She did a great job, especially on short notice. I actually would love to go back in the summer with my own family to explore the area and enjoy Sandy's hospitality all over again. The town itself was pretty much closed down since we visited in December. I bet it is more happening in the summer. Bring your own lunch and dinner foods or else your options will be limited to gas station food in the winter.

The overall atmosphere is very laid back and positive, in fact it is very easy to make friends with other guests as well. The view from the patio, where (weather permitting) Sandy serves her homemade from scratch breakfasts is nothing short of spectacular. You can eat your French Toast prepared by Sandy on the patio facing the Clallam River lazily flow into the Strait of Juan de Fuca or and watch the Bold Eagle being picked on by couple of crows. In the background you can see Vancouver mountains and fishing vessels and big cargo ships as well. Overall my experience was such as I was visiting an aunt for the summer. Would have gotten 5 stars except for the following; 1. Each time you come or go you have to get out of your car and manually open/close the gate. For what they charge for rooms they should have an electric gate and give people the code. 2. Breakfast is only served at 9AM, and often you want to get out early to beat the crowds to hiking/scenic places. 3. The ice machine has been broken for quite some time, so if you want ice later in the evening you need to hope the house manager is around. Otherwise it is a wonderful place to stay.

It was very old, not well maintained and above all not cleaned well. The sheets were old and had several hair as if they weren't washed from previous stay. What bothered me further is that the host Jeff was adamant about it and just won't listen to our request. Comfortable B&B in Port Angeles - we enjoyed our stay last week when we were in the area…read more Five Seasuns B&B is close to the PA ferry terminal (we arrived from Victoria BC), the northern areas of Olympic National Park (Hurricane Ridge, Crescent Lake, Sol Duc Falls) and the northeast part of Olympic peninsula (we visited lavender farms in the Sequim-Dungeness area since our visit coincided with Lavender Fest). Value was fair. We paid $828 for two nights in the Indian Summer Suite ($918 with tax). For this the missus and I got a private bedroom with a queen bed, and our children each got their own beds in the kitchen/living area. The single bathroom and shower stall was adequate for our needs and we had a parking spot underneath the unit. Caroline, who has owned and operated the B&B for 8 years, was consistently communicative, warm and helpful. She baked cookies for us both evenings, and served us healthy and filling breakfasts. She also offered good advice on where to go for dinner and sightseeing. Bonus: the grounds are captivating, with deer and a fish pond on the premises. We would be happy to return.

Sometimes, just for a quick and local getaway, we'll stay a couple of days at local inns around our…read morearea. This time we stayed at the GreenHouse Inn by the Bay in Sequim. They have several units to choose from, but we chose the "Perch", which was the largest. It didn't disappoint! We didn't even use half the space! Currently, check-in is anytime after 2:00pm. We checked ourselves in and upon entering, found a spacious "home"! Divided by a set of stairs, there is a murphy bed (sleeps 2), bath & shower, dining area and full kitchen to the left. On the dining table was a lovely note addressed to us by the hosts Craig & Michelle, accompanied by a bottle of wine and a bowl of granola bars. Then, in the refrigerator, there was a nicely adjourned box nestled with yogurts, orange juice, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, a small bottle of Prosecco (for mimosas) and chocolate! We turned around and on the kitchen counter was a plate of local pastries! In the room on the other side of the stairs is another bedroom (sleeping 2-3), king bed, full bath and sitting area with coffee maker and coffee pods. Downstairs by the front door is a living room with TV, comfy couch & chair, wet bar, small fridge and washer/dryer! As everyone knows, with a home or business, there will always be times of repair and/or construction. Currently, the upper deck is being repaired, so we weren't able to take advantage of that. Instead, we took a long walk along the water, watched the eagles soar overhead, waved at people passing by and enjoyed the fresh sea air! Eating at local restaurants is always a plus and enjoying wine in the evenings watching the sun lower gently on the horizon out of sight made this trip, along with our fabulous hosts, Craig & Michelle, all worthwhile. Thank you for making our local getaway a special one!
