Second time in 2 years that we stayed at PNP. First time was Cabin 14. Loved it! This time we brought our dog for with us and stayed in Cabin 15. We already knew no wifi/cell service but don't care! We went to be off grid and reset. The weather cooperated with our plan by raining steadily and mama nature treated us with some gorgeous powerful waves to watch from the hottub on our deck. We used up our firewood and utilized our kitchen with some pre-made entrees from Hob Fine Foods-so barely cooked! Love it there so much we decided on a week next time. read more

We stayed here for four nights with friends (we were 2 couples) in the Cabin A Glacier Loft. It has one quiet bedroom on the ground floor and a bright spacious loft up some open stairs. There is a small kitchen that had everything we needed and a cozy livingroom with a beautiful view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. There are Adirondack chairs on the deck and a 4 person hot tub that we enjoyed every day. The picture on the website of this cabin shows different furniture and a pretty fireplace with a mantel. Unfortunately they have a couple worn leather chairs with cracked leather arms and the couch is a hide-a-bed with cushions that were hard to keep in place. They kept working their way out and over the edge of the couch. What I was sad about was they have had to change the fireplace to bring it up to code. Instead of keeping the rustic feel with stone and a pretty mantle, they put up a couple bit shiny pieces of metal and screwed it in. They didn't use long enough screws and it is pulling away from the fireboard behind. It looks like a cheap fix and doesn't fit with the rustic cabin feel. We did enjoy having a fire, however, and they replenished our wood supply, including kindling and paper every day. We were there for a birthday and would have loved to eat at the restaurant there but the menu didn't appeal to us enough to pay the high price of a meal. We loved walking private guest only paths on the property that lead to a beach with a shelter with fireplace and chairs. Another leads over a pretty red bridge that leads to rocks overlooking the wild surf. We were there early May and loved enjoying the flora waking up in the spring. There are a few references to the staff being rude so we decided to tread lightly. Nobody was rude but there was definitely one woman who was curt. The staff in general lacked warmth and were not overly welcoming. But we didn't have any issues that needed addressing. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would go back. read more

My husband, pup and I had such a phenomenal stay at PNP! Literally, our jaws dropped to the floor when we walked into the cabin and saw the large window view of the ocean/forest. The owners were SO wonderful in that we were a last minute addition. We had been re-routed due to the fires near Telfino and my husband came in clutch with this find! We both were actually happy that it worked out that way b/c we loved our stay so much. You simply have to have dinner there at least one night. Again, we were stunned at the view and the food! There is a private hike for guests that was so beautiful. Chairs lined the cliffsides for quiet time or chatting. Cabin has pretty much all the kitchen amenities you can need (I even needed a veggie peeler and they had one). My only "advice" would be if you are like me and a darkness diva when it comes to sleeping, slip a sleep mask in your bag b/c it will get light earlier than most are used to (depending on the time of year). My husband enjoyed a surf spot down the road and we did two different hikes close by as well. Just a gem of a place and we will be back! Can't wait! read more

Ate lunch here and had the special of sandwich with soup or salad and dessert for $14. What an amazing deal! I had the shrimp salad on baguette with a mixed greens salad and husbo had the roast beef on baguette with the black bean soup. He said the soup was outstanding, but the sandwich needed a sauce with more zip like a horseradish or dijon. My sandwich was messy satisfying. What was amazing was the view and the set up of the restaurant. Two small rooms of all windows overlooking the rocky bay. Each table has binoculars! The cherry on top of this experience was the carrot cake dessert! Rich cream cheese frosting not too sweet. Carrot shreds and pineapple visible in the dense moist cake. We told our adorable young server that we LOVED the cake and that most carrot cakes disappoint us. She said they get that compliment a lot and that they haven't changed their recipe since her mom worked there 20 years ago! read more

Absolutely DISGUSTING conduct by the owner Sharon. I booked Cabin 2 ten months ago. It was a gift to my girlfriend for our anniversary, and I paid a $500 deposit on that day. 12 days ago they gave our reservation away. They were unable to contact me by phone as I had to change my number. They failed to reach out via mail, as they had my address, and instead just CANCELLED our reservation, for a trip we have been looking forward to since last year. Sharon outright refused to make this right. She laughably offered us a different cabin for 3 weekdays in August. My partner and I had both scheduled out time off from work for this vacation; we now have absolutely no options for this summer to have a vacation, as quite literally everything is booked. How Sharon feels this is right, to cancel a reservation without taking the time to contact me via a method she KNOWS would work; how she thinks it's right to cancel a 10 month reservation instead of the 10 day MAX reservation the new people would have...is disgusting. There's not a chance in hell we will ever return. She has out right ruined my summer and failed to honor the contract that is in place at the time of deposit. Had I not called the resort to change my number, Sharon was willing to let us come there for Aug 4 only to be turned away. Disgusting and immoral behavior and I say avoid at all costs. read more

Front counter staff women was extremely rude when we asked about the restaurant. We had not seen that it had been shutdown on the website. Her behaviour and demeanour was not something I would expect from this establishment. Both my wife and I had great memories the last time we visited here 8 years ago. Apparently the standards have slipped . Disappointed after making the special trip just to have lunch overlooking the ocean. Someone needs to provide this individual with some customer service training . A simple kind response was all that was required . My husband and I would definitely stay in a room here if we didn't have a wonderful family to stay with that lives down the street. The grounds are fun to explore and provide breath taking views. Amazing. That's it. Beautiful cabins, easy to relax, beautiful trails, 5 beaches, beautiful scenery, very good restaurant. No wifi, no cell service in the cabins, but who cares. Sit in the hot tub with a bottle of wine, watching the wildlife and boats go by while listening to the waves crash up against the shore below. Only small thing was that occasionally you could hear larger semis blow by on the road behind the cabins, nothing to get upset about tho. Relax. Unreal. Booking again in 2020. read more

This review is purely for the restaurant as we didn't stay at Point No Point. I must say, however, that if the accommodation is as good as the restaurant, it must be very good indeed. It is a nicely laid out restaurant overlooking the water. On each table, there is a pair of binoculars for the use of diners. It's a very nice touch. The menu is smallish, but adequate, and the food is exceptional. We both had the red curry, coconut soup with braised ribs. We both then ordered the beef, followed by sticky date pudding. From the point of view of the food, there was simply nothing to complain about and everything to effuse about. It was sensational. It was expensive but given the quality, quantity, presentation and the environment, we felt it represented great value for money. One thing prevents me awarding five stars and it is not so much a fault of the restaurant as a fault of the industry. While the staff was uniformly pleasant, knowledgeable, friendly and attentive we noticed (as with many restaurants irrespective of their class), that responses to our statements, questions and comments were met with a single word response of either "perfect" or "absolutely". When one is in a quiet restaurant and six or seven nearby tables are being treated to a constant repetition of 'perfect-absolutely', it becomes annoying. In every respect a server only needs to hear, and understand, a patron's comment to offer a more appropriate response. It is a minor criticism to be sure, and maybe it's just me being anal...but at times it becomes bloody annoying. And for the record; mostly, my utterings are neither perfect, nor absolute. However, do not allow this minor criticism to prevent you going to Point No Point. Overall, it is a wonderful gastronomic experience. read more

Charming cabins, all with hot tubs and fireplaces. A kitchen that has everything you need to make your own food if you want. It is worth it to drive out to this restaurant and have lunch. The food is superb. Not kinda good, not acceptable, but 5 star quality food and setting. I had the seafood chowder and it was the best I have had in my life. The salads were excellent and the salmon was perfectly grilled. Zero flaws. The setting is world class. Beautiful view, binoculars on the table so you can wildlife watch as you eat. Bread was excellent also. I'll be back next trip to Victoria. This is a special place. My wife and I stayed at the resort for one evening.... nice cabin , nice view, well-maintained and very very clean... we had dinner reservations for the evening and being out there I didn't put my expectations too high for the dining room... as we arrived for our dinner reservation we sat down to a beautiful view, excellent excellent server... And now to the meal if I could rate this meal 6 out 5 stars I would , the dinner we had was a true 5 star dinner If you are ever in Victoria and have an evening to spare the drive to this dining room is well worth it, I cannot think of a restaurant in downtown Victoria that would be superior to the restaurant at the point no point...Keep up the good work folks!! read more

Just to be clear, this is a review of this resort's very fine dining place, with white tablecloths, very good food, accomplished service, and pleasant rooms. That being said, the real star here is the view. What a view! The place overlooks the Strait of Juan de Fuca--and eagles, trees, and ships. Every table has a pair of binoculars so that you can focus in on anything you find particularly interesting. I suspect reservations are mandatory all the time, so plan ahead. Depending on the time of the year, their business hours may change quite a bit too, so give them a call well ahead of time. Prices are reasonable for the restaurant's quality and the top notch location. You need to have at least one meal here if you're in the area. read more

Spectacular view, great food If you end up at this restaurant without intending to go there, you are either a tourist or lost. 25 minutes past Sooke on the Highway 14, just past French Beach it is hidden behind trees on a bend in the road. You are more likely to recognize it by the line of cars along the side of the highway than you are by the small sign announcing Point No Point. First a warning - there is extremely limited parking. You will most likely have to park on the side of the highway and carefully walk along the road to the small restaurant. Inside you will find a cozy restaurant built out over the oceanfront, likely with a lineup of people waiting to be seated. There are not a lot of tables, but every table affords a great view of the Ocean and of the distant Olympic Peninsula. When you are seated, every table has a pair of binoculars so you can satisfy your curiosity as you wait for your meal. The food is pricey but excellent. My Seafood Linguini included scallops, salmon, and shrimp and was delicious - so fresh you almost expect it to swim off your plate. The meal ended with an Apple Pie, apparently new to their menu and I was the first person ever to order it, so they were very curious about my reaction. It was a delicious addition to their menu, beautifully prepared apple filling between filo pastry, and buried beneath a large scoop of blackberry sorbet. My only comment was that the pie itself was tiny, but extremely tasty. When you have finished your meal, if you are up for it, ask the cashier for the code to access the trails to the ocean. Since the trails are part of the private resort, you need a code to pass through the gate. There are several beautiful short trails you can follow down to the ocean front. We spent an hour sitting on the rocks by the sea watching a playful sea lion just off shore. The service is attentive. The food is terrific. It's a challenge to find the restaurant and to find parking. Overall a worthy destination if you are in Victoria and have a day to explore this beautiful island highway. read more

I just came back from Point no Point, a quick mini-moon after a whirlwind wedding. If you're looking for release from the hustle of the city or a romantic secluded natural space, this is the place to do it. we arrived, parked our car and walked down the shallow steps to our log cabin heaven. it was quaint and well-maintained. the glass doors opened up onto a balcony with a hot tub for 2 and a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean (the cabin is right on the edge of a cliff!). Cabins are situated far away enough that we couldn't hear any of the other guests of the resort. The staff stay out of your way for the entire trip, you could quite easily stay there and not run into anyone except the person who checks the hot tub water daily. we: -created gourmet meals in the fully furnished kitchen -slept soundly on an excellent bed and woke to the sound of the Pacific Ocean waves crashing on the beach below -read good books while sitting in the outdoor hot tub, drinking wine and listening to said ocean waves -played scrabble to the light of the fire -hiked the many trails to different parts of the point (accessible to guests only) -walked on the soft sandy beach in bare feet holding hands. Yes, i'm getting gooey romantical here. but it really was the best holiday i've ever had, hands down. There's also a restaurant there that i've heard excellent things about. we were too busy in each other's company and roasting our own lamb and trout to go though. It's not cheap. and i'm normally the cheap sort. but one look at that view and i knew it was worth every penny. we've vowed to save up the cash to come back every other year. crossing my fingers that we can keep that promise. read more

I just ate in the tea room last night and stayed in the Otter cabin. The staff we very kind and helpful all the way through the planning, reserving and arrival process. The cabin was just beautiful, clean and cozy. We enjoyed breathtaking views from both the livingroom area and from the sleeping loft where we could see even more of the water and beach front. The woodstove provided more than enough heat to keep as snug but there was also a thermostat for folks who aren't so stove-inclined. Our dinner in the tea room was outstanding. The chef used the highest quality fresh fish and vegetables I have experienced on this whole trip to BC this far. The dishes had been designed with great attention to detail. Nothing was "thrown in" just for colour. And on top of just how good the food and service was, the price tag was very modest. read more

Oh, what a fantastic place. My partner and I spent a romantic few days in the Otter Cabin at Point No Point. Lovely place. Wood burning stove in the cabin, private hot tub, a small but nice kitchenette. And a wonderful view outside. Even with the rain at times, we had rain on the roof, a babbling creek, and the pounding of the ocean waves. We didn't try the restaurant, opting for take out from Sooke instead. But indeed, a lovely place with even more wonderful company. Note - no internet, cell phone coverage doesn't exist. If you need to stay in contact with work, family, etc., this may not be for you. However, if you want to get away from it all, this is perfect! read more

My partner & I had a week reno escape to Point no Point. Wonderful suite (Otter Cabin) Everything anyone who isn't wired at the umbilical could want. (Wifi IS available at the front, by a nice warm fire) Absolute peace... dark at night, so you can see the stars; little brook running down beside, ocean crashing against the bluffs below. Room to sit and read in comfort; nice big bath & separate shower; private hot tub on the deck. California king in loft above, a flashlight to help you find your way downstairs without alarming your sleeping partner. The suite itself has everything you could require to cook your own meals, but we ate our first night at the restaurant (we had been there before) and it was, as always, well planned, well prepared & delicious. Will return & will happily recommend it to everyone I know with the taste to appreciate it!! read more

Very disappointed that our reservation for next July has just been cancelled. We have lots of good memories here but they have changed their policy that they don't accept groups. This is a big change and wasn't mentioned when we booked. Not a good way to treat guests that have been going to Point No Point from the beginning. The cabin was cozy and cute, kitchen was functional, bed was comfortable, and you can't beat the beautiful view! We also loved the hot tub on the patio. We took advantage of having some spa services by the sooke spa (they came right to our room)...a little expensive but well worth it. We also left a couple things behind in the room which the hotel shipped to us for a very small fee. Great experience! read more

We are spending some time in Victoria and wanted to go see Sooke. I had a few places written down and we ended up at Point-no-Point. The staff were extremely friendly, the food was great and the view was gorgeous. After lunch we walked down to the beach to take pictures and we both felt thankful that we decided not to eat at the Sooke Harbor House which only had a Sunday dinner type menu for lunch. read more

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! My husband and I spent our first anniversary there. We stayed in the Raccoon Room. These cabins are awesome; comfy bed, jetted tub, woodfire place(they supply a certain amount of wood per night) and best of all a hot tub on the deck looking over the Juan de Fuca Straight. The price is very good too, you would almost pay as much for a decent room in a large city. We had dinner at the restaurant one night and it was superb! Great service, and a bit pricey but definitely worth it. The only disappointment was when my husband went to give compliments to the chefs, they weren't very friendly... they just said, "well what were your expectations..." a little arrogant, but i guess when you're that good you don't know any better. We arrived at cabin #10 the evening of November 24; our first night away from our children in 4.5 years, to celebrate my husband's birthday. Within two minutes of arrival, we had squished no fewer than 15 carpenter ants in the unit. The owner and maintenance person came by, saw the ants, apologized, and told us everything else was booked. After weeks of looking forward to this big night away, an hour and a half of driving, arranging care for our kids, we were turned away from the hotel with nothing more than an apology and a suggestion of where else we might consider staying (and the nearest spot was all booked). No discount offered on a future stay, nothing. We even waited a day to write this, thinking surely we'd get a follow up call today with more than a casual apology. We find it very, very hard to believe they didn't know about the ants... They were everywhere. So, buyer beware... Awful, awful customer service, and a pest problem in cabin 10. read more

We've stayed at a few cabin resorts on the islands and this place is by far the best. A perfect romantic getaway and so close to home in Victoria. I'd recommend staying in either Cabin C or D. The kitchen is well stocked. We brought our own food and cooked a romantic dinner for two. Both cabins have a fireplace and a hot tub. So don't forget to bring a bottle of wine to sip while taking in the beautiful views of the rugged west coast while relaxing in the hot tub on your very own private deck. read more

Terrible customer service. I was told by Charlene?sp that I had a confirmed booking and was to be added to a cancellation list for the night before. Phoned to adjust to a Saturday Sunday booking and was told now that they are all full that weekend and didn't have the Saturday reserved at all. The male representative was then trying to place blame on me for not giving a credit card to hold the reservation. This is as good as it gets for a break from the everyday hustle and the 24 hour a day on demand society. No internet, no cell phones, no TVs; do not under any circumstances ever change this about your amazing resort. The restaurant was spectacular; the Wasabi, Ricotta and Pea ravioli were amazing. The cabins are perfect with a small but functional kitchen and maximize views and privacy. Do not forget to bring some coffee with you as this is not a hotel room but a cabin with a coffee maker available. They even supplied food dishes, sleeping pad, blanket and a towel for our dog; after a day of exploring the beaches and scrambling in the rocks of the Juan de Fuca Provincial Park he was ready to sleep while we went out for dinner. read more

We were stuffed sharing a bowl of seafood chowder, a half salad, the seafood penne pasta, and the grilled salmon entree. Everything was fresh, done right, and tasted so good. The nice thing about being stuffed at lunch means you save money on dinner, and I can't imagine I'll be eating much of anything tonight after that mighty fine lunch. read more

With a menu that changes based on what's seasonal and local, the restaurant at Point no Point is a must-visit if you're anywhere near Sooke or Port Renfrew. The food is exceptionally well executed and flavourful. They were very good about accommodating my food allergies. The service was efficient, friendly, and well informed. The view is amazing, particularly in the evening. There is nothing to criticize about this beautiful, cozy little spot. A great example of how they go the extra mile is how they dealt with my leftovers. I wanted to take home part of my main course, but still linger over dessert and a cup of tea, so they took the initiative to put my leftovers in their fridge until I was ready to go. I've never seen that at any other establishment and was impressed by the thoughtfulness and care that showed. read more
