Ferrari cake!
Lacey S.

I ordered a Ferrari cake for my sister and they delivered! I truly believe it turned out better than the inspiration photo I sent in! Great communication, easy to work with, did I mention delicious?! 10/10 recommend!

Cake in a Jar

Sometimes you know after just a bite or two and this was one of those instances. First time trying Moonlight Cakes and had one of their cakes in a jar. Perfect portion control, vanilla cake was so moist and melted in my mouth and frosting had perfect amount of sweetness. I'll definitely be checking out this store next time I need cupcakes or cakes - definitely worth the drive (and calories)!

Met this company at a pop up event! People already familiar with the company were scooping up the samples. I waited till I go home and whoa so sweet and so delicious. White funfetti cake and sweet delicious icing. It was a perfect blend. Honestly a deconstructed cupcake in a jar was the full win. I will make sure to actually stop by the store for my next delicious cake needs!!

Strawberry Fields and Blushing Bride

3.5 if I could rate it. First had moonlight cakes at a Yelp event. The cake was amazing, it was their "wedding cake" almond vanilla flavor. Everyone loved it and as a cake, it was very moist. The chocolate cake was okay. Good but not as good as the wedding cake. So I came here to buy some of the wedding cake cupcakes, Blushing bride. It is not as good. The cupcakes were VERY stale. So it was disappointing. The strawberry was not stale. I think it cost $4 per cupcake or something. So pretty let down since we could not eat the cupcakes and it was tossed. Not sure if I will come back and get another cupcake here. Maybe their cakes are good Bc it is bigger and stays moist longer. Or the cupcakes are just not selling as hot and were old in the shelf. Either way, it makes me weary when the consistency is not there.

I'm the giveaway winner! 2 cake pops, 2 cookie sandwiches and 2 cocoa bombs

Such a cute bakery! From the moment I walked in, their customer service was too notch too! You will have a good variety of cake pops, cookies, and cupcakes to choose from but into many that you'll never come to a decision. They also have cocoa bombs, HUGE cocoa bombs, and cookie sandwiches. I won a giveaway box that had 2 cake pops (Oreo and birthday cake), 2 cookie sandwiches (sugar cookie and chocolate chip), and 2 cocoa bombs. I ended up also buying a strawberry cake pop, cookies and cream cupcake and OF COURSE their lemon crinkle cookie. The latter was recommended by another sweet Yelper! As of right now, I've tasted only tasted the lemon crinkle cookie. It was so soft, and the lemon flavor came through really well. The powdered sugar on top cuts into the sour and balances everything out! Thank you Moonlight for my delicious Christmas goodies!

My lopsided cupcakes due to me braking hard & the heat. Delicious though

Oh my god!!! These cupcakes must have something to make them addictive. I got 5 cupcakes. ( Cookies n cream, bridal something, snowball, lemon, and crimson something) I apologize for messing up the names. I also got a snickerdoodle & sugar cookie. These cupcakes were delicious. My favorite was the crimson-its like a red velvet. The lemon was really good also. They were all insanely good & very sweet. They didn't have too much icing & the were perfectly sized. The store is adorable & customer service was great. I took 1 star for being too sweet. Run no sprint fellow Yelpers!!!

Gosh it pains me to write this because I've seen some of Moonlight's beautiful pieces and their cake used to be so good, but I agree the quality has gone significantly downhill. The vanilla buttercream is cloyingly sweet, I literally had a toothache after eating a piece. By contrast, the chocolate cake and buttercream were so lacking in sugar and awfully bitter that I couldn't have more than two bites. The white chocolate raspberry cake was okay, but honestly a certain Bundt chain has a much better version. I got a custom cake for my birthday and I am incredibly disappointed. My text to my husband was that it literally looked like it was from Nailed It. The ears were cracked and bumpy logs of solid fondant that were completely disproportionate from the face of the alpaca it was supposed to be modeled after. I literally laughed when I saw it. I wasted $100 and my one birthday request on this. Also, 4 cupcakes for $17 might be worth it if the cupcakes were sizeable like you get at other cupcake shops. These are standard size pans that you make at home. It really is a bummer to write this because everyone we worked with was so nice, it makes the cake that much more disappointing.

Raspberry Beret, Lemon Twist-3.5/5 stars, Crimson Cream- 4.5/5, Milk & Cookies- 4/5, Bakin Bacon- 5/5, Birthday Sprinkles-2/5 (6/$20.10)

Yum- one of the best new cupcake places I've been to in the Dallas area in a while! They weren't super busy at 5pm on a Tuesday and there were plenty of options left. It's $3.35 per cupcake, or $20.10 for 6 cupcakes. Since there were a bunch of different flavors I wanted to try, I decided to go for 6 flavors. Out of the ones I purchased, the only one I didn't try was the Raspberry Beret, since I'm not a big fan of raspberries. The cupcakes got shook around a bit during the drive, so apologies that the photo doesn't do them justice! I ended up trying: [https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=HiUhdZ5jVE9lXEYUtQDZAQ&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg] -Lemon Twist: Great lemon flavor, and shockingly, a little too tart for me. However, the cake was very moist, and I liked that they added a layer of lemon curd. -Crimson & Cream: One of my favorites! The red velvet cake was very moist, and the cream cheese frosting was also really good- highly recommended. -Milk & Cookies: Solid, and good cookies n cream flavor. This cupcake wasn't too sweet, which was nice. -Bakin Bacon: This was my favorite, and a must order! They add bits of bacon to the batter, which was awesome. -Birthday Sprinkles: The frosting was way too sweet for me, and it didn't have enough birthday cake flavor- skip. The staff here is really nice, and went out of their way to answer questions. I would come back to try their other flavors (they have a LOT of variety), and also order my favorites again. Parking was easy to find in this plaza.

I didn't go inside, but I came here for the Yelp Event. I love that they allowed the entrance of moonlight cakes to be used for the annual Yelp adopt a family. It was a pleasure meeting our FW community manager, Kendall in person. I appreciated that moonlight cakes provided goodies for us to take home, like the cocoa drop and the peppermint cookie. I'll have to check out the inside of this place next time. The pictures of the different treats are enticing, as well as the reviews.

Dozen Assorted Cupcakes

My friend sent me some cupcakes from this place and they were the most delicious cupcakes I have ever tried. My favorite one was the Tres Leches flavor. They do have many other interesting flavors to choose from like Crimson and Cream and Amore. They are all fresh, sweet and moist. If you are in the area you should definitely check out this bakery.

Amore!

I personally cannot eat here because they don't have any gluten free options, but I've been here a few times for friends/family/work and figured I'd share my thoughts based on sight and smell and customer service! This is an amazing little bakery. It's actually much larger inside than you'd think. Moonlight Cakes has so many amazing cupcakes, cookies, and cake pops for sale. And coffee/espresso! And ice cream and cake! It smells insanely delicious in here... some of the cupcake flavors that stand out to me are Snowball (coconut), Campfire S'mores, Snickerdoodle, Milk and Cookies... wish I could eat them all! My sister treated her daughters to the "Birthday Sprinkles" cupcakes which were so cute. Absolutely saturated with sprinkles! The staff at Moonlight Cakes is ultra sweet and accommodating. I plan to come in here more and buy treats as gifts!

This is a really cute cupcake spot. Inside is clean and nicely decorated. They have a large variety of flavors to choose from. They also make full size cakes and offer a small selection of cake pops, cookies, and Blue Bell ice cream. Their cupcakes are delicious! I'm not a huge cupcake person, but Moonlight cakes is definitely doing something right! Their cupcakes are extremely moist. You can taste the freshness in every bite. I feel like this place is comparable to Nothing Bunt Cakes, but BETTER (of course)!! Everything is made fresh daily and it shows. I tried four different cupcakes: milk and cookies, red velvet, lemon, and blushing bride (their number one seller). The lemon one was my absolute favorite. It's VERY lemony, so if you're looking for a subtle lemon flavor this is not for you! It's made with lemon cake, lemon zest, and lemon curd. YUM. Very refreshing and delicious! I also tried a lemon cookie which was equally as good. I wanted to test out their cake balls too, but they were over $3 which is pretty pricey for cake balls. Overall, I really like this place and I will be back try their other cupcake flavors!

The moment you walk in, you're greeted by a tranquil, French-inspired atmosphere filled with lush green plants and soft, calming décor. Their display cases are a feast for the eyes--packed with beautiful specialty cakes, and an irresistible variety of baked goods. I spent about two hours here working on business plans with a friend, and it was the ideal environment: peaceful, comfortable, and inspiring. We enjoyed a delicious lunch of two of their delicious sandwiches, that were every bit as satisfying as the ambiance. But the star of the show? The croissants. Their large croissants are genuinely the best I have ever eaten--flaky, buttery perfection. I'm planning to pick up a dozen for Thanksgiving today because they're just that good. Highly recommend this bakery for anyone looking for amazing pastries, a relaxing place to work or chat, and a little taste of Paris right here in Texas.

We took home a cream horn for later, very good and we decided to try the Asian pandan cake which is green. Never had it before, it was interesting flavors a little floral and light not my favorite but still good. They were very nice and helpful and everything was a good price. They also had sandwiches and soups available to order with a little cafe seating area. I would return if in the area.

Everything is take and bake, and bags cost $20 per bag. Regardless of the kind. They either come in 6 packs of regular sized biscuits or 12 mini. I did have to pair down what I had intended to buy but might come back for another set down the line. I will echo what someone else said that I might brush butter or something on top to help the next time I bake them. At least for both kinds of savory biscuits that I got. Not sure how that would work with one of the sweet dessert style ones that I would likely try if I do swing back. Obviously there might be some room for either user mishaps or differences in what your oven does. I did notice and then she did show me when talking about one kind I might get next time that she does use products from nuts dot com ... so that might be a part of the higher costs.
