With a great food program at the office via "fooda" we are able to experience a great variety of local businesses. Today I chose moonbowls and their chicken bowl. At first glance, the bowl is colorful and portioned well. At second glance, I'm disappointed to have canned corn during the summer and to not have any char on the broccoli. The chicken was tasty and tender which is a must for me, and the light sauce was good. It was more like a vinegrette than a BBQ sauce. Rice was cooked perfectly and topped with some green onions. Oh, and the jammy egg! I love me a jammy egg mixed with the rice and chicken! It's a perfect bite. Overall, I would order this again and will continue to support local businesses. I ordered two Korean chicken bowls here since there was a BOGO offer on Uber Eats but I was so disappointed with the quality of the food. Luckily we got the by one get one free offer because I wouldn't pay this much for such a tiny bowl. The pictures in some reviews look like there was a lot given, so I wondered if we were purposely given less because this was an uber eats order that had a bogo offer. I literally ate both bowls in one sitting. The food looked pretty well presented when we got it, but once we pushed aside the toppings, there was barely any rice there. The caramelized onions were extremely mushy and gross, so we threw them out. The citrus marinated kale was literally just regular kale and had no flavor. On a Tuesday evening, I ordered a Chicken and Egg Bowl, with sesame tofu, green onions and seaweed added. My base of choice was brown rice. Okay, usually when I order a food bowl, the "base" is over 50% of the bowl. So in this case, I was expecting a big bowl of brown rice with the toppings covering it. Not so at Moonbowls! The food bowl was mainly the mixture of food I asked for, and the brown rice was hard to find. I had to stir it up to find the rice. The Chicken and Eggs Bowl is just that.....diced moist chicken and a fried egg on top. All kinds of good stuff like...."charred peppers, cucumber slaw, caramelized onions, a fried egg, fresh arugula, basil, green onions, sesame seeds, our sweet Korean BBQ sauce, and a side of gochujang sauce." However, it's not a huge bowl of food, but it's good healthy food. Especially if you're watching your carbs. Their website says "they're taking a fresh approach to Korean cuisine thru chef driven food bowls using high quality ingredients and bold flavors." Yes, Moonbowls does all that. Would I order again? Yes, if I'm in the area. Located at the Longfellow Food Pickup, which is a Cloud Kitchens facility. I used the Doordash app for a food pickup. Food was ready in 15 mins. Simply walk in the lobby, tell them your name and the restaurant, and they hand you your order. You save $$$ by picking up your order, and you know that food will be hot & fresh when you get it. Dining in the mind of franz Kafka. Ordered a pickup order from moon bowls so I could eat in between clients. The order was supposed to be ready when I got there. I was greeted but two broken iPads and one functioning one. The functioning one informed me my order was delayed. After waiting 20 minutes (there is no human to help me) I decided to leave. Ubereats charged me the full price of my meal to cancel. I canceled anyway thinking of course they would waive that fee. I never was able to reach the store and I cancelled in good faith to save them time and money. Nope that cancel button is a binding contract for them to steal from you. I try for a long time now to loose weight but still want to enjoy my food! I found moonbowls some time ago which even has a list for how many calories their ingedients have!! I am finally loosing a lot of weight and still have super tasty food, thanks to moonbowls!! If they would advertise this aspect more i am sure they would get overrun by people even more! Incredible! The sauce on the sweet chicken kimchi was not to my liking. Too sweet and watery. the chicken was very dry. The rest of the bowl tasted fine tho. Now the really sad part.... The corn in the Korean hit chicken bowl. The corn was so burnt it was BLACK. Practically pieces of cancer. On a bed of kale, I didn't notice at first and took a bite. Had to rush to the sink and spent the next 10 minutes rinsing out the charcoal taste in my mouth. I cannot believe someone would let food burn to this state, much less scooped it up and put in a bowl. It effectively ruined the entire dish and made it inedible. Even after throwing out a good portion where the corn was, the burnt charcoal taste was still in the rest of the food. Really really poor quality control. I hate wasting food, but I had to toss the entire bowl. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're just looking to take advantage of the Ubereats offer. read more

had ANAPHYLAXIS after eating their sesame tofu bowl with sesame sauce. was able to customize the order and had a false sense of safety since none of my allergens were listed under the ingredients from what i chose. dont know if specifying my allergies would've even helped the situation, being as though there is no contact with staff. the chefs arent even visible, no one in the back responds to customers ordering in and the people delivering food were ignored as well, and you pick the food up from a locker? their website claims "possible cross-contamination" with gluten and shellfish, but unfortunately for me i am allergic to nuts and most fish. wish i could identify what allergen triggered the reaction so i could medical tell staff at the emergency room. $30 meal so not worth this wretched experience. the flavors were tasty at least, so if i'm planning my last meal i know where to go! if you're immune system is compromised, i would stay away at all costs. read more

I ordered the buy 1 get 1 sweet kimchi chicken through Uber eats and I quite enjoyed these bowls. It felt like eating Chipotle but with Korean taste/fusion to it. Each bowl came with brown rice, seasoned chicken, kimchi, green onion, kale, shallots, corn, onions and peppers. Once everything was mixed well, this bowl tasted sweet with hint of spiciness to it, was so saucy. The sauce kinda tasted like teriyaki/gochujang flavor. This place used to be really quality - great fresh food, good portions for the price. They changed the menu completely and it has gone completely downhill. Prices went up and portions went down. The last time I ordered from here the meal was inedible - I paid extra for sweet potato noodles as my base and it was like biting into pure salt. I ended up throwing away the food and having to cook dinner. Not cute! This place is a weird pop up situation that specifically only sells delivery and to go, it's like a take out only with a big shared kitchen used by multiple restaurants. That's fine! But just know there's nowhere to sit here. To the owners - bring back your old menu! Especially the chicken and egg bowl! We ordered a pickup order for 4 people which was delayed beyond the pickup time so we had to wait around 15 minutes. I ordered the crispy cauliflower bowl with noodles, which came with a ranch dressing style sauce. The cauliflower coating was greasy and not crisp at all (it was coming off of the cauliflower) which was undercooked. The remainder was under-seasoned to the point of it being unenjoyable (which the ranch dressing wouldn't pair with). My son got the fried chicken bowl which he liked. The two other bowls had cauliflower and they were in the same state and were left unfinished. I will not be coming back, which is a shame as everyone but me had tried them before and they found the meal enjoyable previously. So this is really a hit or miss experience. read more

Ordered through Uber eats for pickup. First impression was that food was nicely packaged. Unfortunately the purple noodle salad was missing the mandarin oranges and peanuts. The Cesar salad guachong dressing was in the purple noodle container and the sesame dressing was in the Cesar container so we mistakenly put the wrong dressing on the wrong salads pretty much ruining the flavors. Our Team catered Moon Bowls today via Doordash and my avocado bulgogi bowl is absolutely delicious!! It's fresh, has a beautiful presentation, generous portions, and overall a 10/10 for me. It includes all of my favorite things, kimchee, bulgogi, rice, kale, avocado, and sweet potatoes!! This reminds me of a bibimbap! There's also a light vinaigrette and fresh lemon wedge on the kale which adds to the light and freshness of this bowl. Also ordered a side of fries and they're crispy and yummy, too!
