This was one of my most exceptional fine dining experiences ever! Note this is a Michelin guide restaurant. Think of this as an innovative take on modern Vietnamese food. It's also my first time dining at a restaurant where I was given a chance to try every dish on the menu, even some off the menu dishes as well! We dined here on Saturday night with a party of 6. After having dined here, I realized food will never taste the same again. A big thank you for the staff for their hospitality from front to back. The servers were attentive with the orders, the introductions to every dish well delivered, and our drinks were always refreshed or topped. They checked on us after every dish, whether we enjoyed it and the flow of food was constant. For the first time, I can say you have to try the food here as my photos do not do it justice. I suggest trying their tasting menu, so you can get a sampling of a variety of dishes. It's super fun and creative. I really enjoyed my Chè Thập Cẩm, playful take on a dessert with an alcohol twist. This was well presented, delicious and light! The decor is intimate, feels like a sophisticated library cafe. Don't let me overhype this for you, plan to go to a nice Vietnamese restaurant and enjoy every dish you ordered. A mix of interesting varied textures and flavors that I generally enjoyed a lot! My favorite dish was the mochi beignets - sweet, salty, slightly sour and a little spicy, it paired perfectly with the chew mochi. the durian dessert was also SO good - strong passionfruit flavor coming from the granita and the icy texture contrasted well with the super creamy mousse, and then the durian flavor comes punching in late with the crumble. The summer corn pasta was my least favorite dish because the cilantro really overpowered a lot of the other flavors. It was also quite sour. The lemongrass pork was ok - it was slightly dry in the middle for me and a little too burnt. The salad that came with it was really good though. The sweet potato and crab was tasty, but I felt like it had too much crab roe flavor and the gnocchi was too chewy. Service was impeccable, and the restaurant was super vibey. So lucky to be able to grab a reservation! The restaurant has a clean, modern, somewhat fancy but more fun with the little decor and toy designs all around. Our waiter was so nice and gave recommendations as well as check in on how we're liking everything, he said his favorite was the stuffed leaf! Since it's our first time and also since I love less choices, we did the chef's visit to vietnam prix fixe menu and really loved it. While everything is great looking, I would say everything taste way better than they look. Some items so simple had so many layers of flavor and I could tell how intentional each compenent and texture were taken into every single dish. Hoa Sen | Lotus - Lightly sour and so refreshing! This was very good and love the lotus chip on top 4.5/5 Che Tap Cam - so well balanced, lightly sweet, lightly creamy and milky, the lychee bites add a bit more sweetness too and love how its served. 4.5/5 Taro Milk Bread with Cilantro Butter - Very soft, warm and fluffy bread with a very light savory sweetness from the taro! I love the toppings and the cilantro butter it comes with goes perfectly with it with its herby flavor 3.75/5 Tart - i think it's beet if i remember right. its refreshing 2.75/5 Mini bread bite - this was kinda dry. 2/5 Pate croquette bite - This was extremely good. the pate flavor is so nice and savory and creamy and the filling was bouncy (i think shrimp?) 5/5 Amberjack Crudo - it doesn't look like much but has such a nice strong, vietnamese, sour, refreshing flavor! No fishiness and was super great, i really loved it. they were very mindful with the textures as well with crunchy bits, soft fish, creamy sauce, etc. 4.75/5 Stuffed Leaf | Bò Lá Lốt - It doesn't look like much again but the leaf is filled with super tender, not too fatty wagyu! It was actually a very delicious bite and the onion topping and dip made it even better 4.75/5 Forbidden rice - slightly sticky but not much flavor. It works with the entrees but doesn't standout. 2/5 Lemongrass Pork | Thịt Heo Nướng Sả - This has that extra flavor bursts from the lemon grass and seasoning, taste like an extremely tender, juicy, perfectly charred pork chop that comes with pork chop rice in viet restaurants! 4.75/5 Sweet Potato & Crab | Bún Riêu - This was so unique tasting and so good. the crab was sweet, i love the soft chewy rice cake gnocchi things, and the sauce was super great. 5/5 Lettuce salad - Not sure what this is called but it complemented the heavier bun rieu and even the pork chop as a cleaner or wrap so well! i don't usually like salad but this was so flavorful and crunchy. Surprisingly the tomato was also a highlight even though i tend to hate raw tomato. 4/5 Yuzu ice dessert - served as a palette cleanser from the heavier entrees to dessert. It's refreshing and nicely citrusy from the yuzu/citron type flavor! the ice cream on top was surprisingly good 3.75/5 Curry | Cà Ri - even though it is green curry flavored, it's so light and other components are sweet so it definitely taste like a dessert! it was very good. 4.5/5 strawberry - I think it's strawberry and this one was given as a gift since we were celebrating our anniversary! The vibe inside the restaurant was nice and crisp... full of cool Asian decors. Staff were very attentive and met our expectations! They even sent a waitress with some knowledge of American Sign Language to our table! Made the experience much nicer and unexpectedly exciting. We were there for the restaurant week! Of course we went out for 7-courses dinner! It's beyond amazing really! I'll share some of my favorites! Taro Milk Bread (kasama cultantro garlic butter, lemon olive oil) - this is the star! Soft and warm bread, smothered with their kasama garlic butter! I'd devour just this milk bread for dinner and be happy! Impressed with how they perfected this milk bread! Hoa Bí Ngòi (tempura squash blossom, crab, brie, pepper jelly) - fried squash blossom, who doesn't like it!? It was delicious with some creamy Brie inside the blossom sided with crab bits and drizzles of pepper jelly! Mì Xào Tỏi (cacio e pepe rice cake, garlic miso, summer corn) - a twist to cacio e pepe! But with rice noodles instead. Very filling with some bursts of garlic miso, and bits of corn. Good combination for this dish! Bò Kho (lemongrass beef short rib, heirloom grits, tomato gravy) - very tender, it melts in your mouth as you take a bite! Amazing grits to complements this beef short rib! Trước Tráng Miệng (yuja honey sorbet, ginger osmanthus granita, shiso) - very refreshing to wash down all courses! It is basically cleansing your palate. So flavorful though! Phố Cổ | Old Quarter (toasted rice infused michter's rye, pandan syrup, angostura bitters) - amazing and strong drink, similar to old fashioned. Was impressed with how they crafted the drink with smoky flavor of rice then mixed with pandas syrup. Wasn't too sweet though! Whatever you have for the leftover, they'd give you a Pokémon card (nostalgic much?!) then after you're done and about to leave... give the card to the front desk, they'd use this card, finding the matching card to get your goodie baggie with your leftover to go! Very thoughtful with this process than awkwardly leaving the box of leftover on your table as you try to enjoy your company there... very collective mind, that's what makes me admire this restaurant! read more

Moon Rabbit is easily my favorite restaurant in DC. I have been a few times and each visit has been a completely different experience menu-wise, which keeps things exciting. There really are no misses here. The level of technique in each dish is top-notch, and everything is packed with comforting, well-balanced flavors. I had a wonderful celebratory meal at Moon Rabbit during my trip to DC! Drawing from Chief Tien's Vietnamese roots and Louisiana influence, it is no wonder how they got their Michelin star and top-50 North American restaurant title! They offer a chef's tasting menu with cocktail pairing as a option, but we opted for a la carte. My partner and I were very intrigued and tried a lot of their dishes/drinks so please bear with my lengthy review. =Food -Water Fern Rice Cake: chewy rice cakes that weren't too grainy with a mixture of aromatic mushrooms, XO, and herbs. Be sure to get some sauce to maximize the balance of savory, fishiness, and sweetness. -Grilled Bamboo: a highlight of my meal! I haven't really had whole bamboo, let alone grilled liked this. I loved how it was tender but still preserved the crunchy fibrous bites. The confit leeks and mushrooms soaked up the sauce and chimichurri that was both simultaneously spicy and sweet. Don't forget to add an herb leaf to your bite! -Sweet Potato & Crab: another highlight of my meal! I'm not a huge tomato person so I was worried it would be too tomato-y for me. To my surprise, the sauce reminded me of a creamy lobster bisque/ramen broth instead. The crab and the sauce complemented the chewy QQ tapioca gnocchi. Wish I had more gnocchi pieces to soak up the sauce! -Mochi Beignet: interesting combination of flavors but not sure if I'd re-order next time. The beignet's were chewy and the eel pieces were good. Didn't quite match the sourness of the pickled carrots/radish. -Pâté Chaud: It was my first time trying rabbit meat, and it tasted like a mix between chicken and pork. Meat was tender and the pastry was flaky, although I wish it was warmer. The accompanying green sauce and carrot agrodolce respectively added a nuttiness and sweetness to the pastry. -Lemongrass Pork: pork slices were very tender and well seasoned. I really enjoyed their version of XO sauce, especially with the hint of umaminess, dried shrimp, and spice. The sticky rice interesting was sweet but very fluffy. =Drinks -Lotus: light whiskey-based drink with a sweet profile (likely from the lemongrass syrup) -Have You Eaten Yet?: reminded me of a purple sticky rice dessert but blended up. Its thick with prominent purple yam and rice flavors. The herbacious (likely from the gin?) and citrus taste helps cut the richness. -Golden Prosperity: loved the sweet, but not-too-sweet mango aperol and mint flavors -Phở Đặc Biệt: definitely smelled like pho and tasted like pho broth! The star anise and other familiar herbs came out towards the middle. Loved the concept and execution! -Out of Dipping Sauce: tasted more sweet cause of the passion fruit; couldn't really tell the presence of nước chấm fish sauce -Old Quarter: strong toasted rice aroma and pandan flavors but a little too strong for me =Dessert -Seaweed: while I've had seaweed-based desserts, I've never had the combo of seaweed and chocolate! The pandan/coconut creme and panna cotta were both very tasty by itself. The three different types of seaweed offered interesting textural contrast against the smooth cream, iciness of the granita, and the crunchy chocolate crumble. -Pandan cake: strong pandan and coconut flavors; the lemon cream on top was too sour for me. Appreciated this free cake along with a hand-written card from the executive chef/beverage director! Staff members were all very nice and polite. They provided great recommendations and thorough explanations. A 20% service charge is already included in your bill. The restaurant is pretty big with 3 separate sections. I love how Chef Tien showcases his kids' artwork. Open Table says there is a dress code of business casual but not sure how strictly they reinforce it because guests were wearing a range of outfits. As someone with very limited fine dining experiences, I can't say I have much to compare Moon Rabbit to, but it felt very unique to me. Moon Rabbit has two primary seating areas. We were sat in a well lit room, and were asked if it was our first experience there. We had a late reservation (8:45pm) and the server shared that there were two primary ways to dine: prixe fix (~2 hour experience curated by the chef) or family style ordering of individual plates (recommended 4-6 dishes for 2 people). We opted for the rice cake starter, 2 dishes from the sea (eel mochi beignet and red snapper), and the curry dessert. The rice cake dish was delectable -- refreshing and beautiful. The eel dish had a beautiful presentation and the eel was incredible. It was so soft and buttery - and perfectly balanced sweet and savory. I wasn't a fan of the sauce that the mochi beignet was paired with, but I can see it being for others. In my opinion, the red snapper dish was the most impressive. The fish was flaky and soft - yet the skin was perfectly crispy (and not overly salty!) it paired really well with the banana sauce and green grain it was served with. Dessert wasnt quite for me (either the one we ordered or the complimentary 'to finish' dish that was a salted egg pork floss bite). I found them both to be a bit too salty for my personal preference. Knowing that their cocktails were award winning, we each ordered one. I had the Lotus, which was under the sours section. And I thoroughly recommend it! It had a nice clean and balanced taste. It wasn't overly strong, sweet, or dry. And it was garnished with a cute small piece of lotus. I had a sip of my companions drink and it was also good (it was purple and rice milk washed, but its name is escaping me). It was much more sour and bubbly than the drink I had but still very good. Service was fantastic. Dishes were brought out in a timely fashion, and the servers were very polite when moving cutlery. They also did a fantastic job of explaining the dishes and providing context on what the chef aimed to achieve. The best way I can think to describe the food is inventive but reminiscent of the pillars of Vietnamese cuisine. It is contemporary, refreshing, and aesthetic. read more

Excellent service, overall okay food, and excellent ambiance. This is more of tapas meal vibe and portions. We were still hungry after and grabbed some pizza. I would recommend instead of sharing the dishes to order a meal each and then share a couple of the larger dishes. The bartender did a great job with explaining the menu and we ordered based on portion size but it wasn't enough for two people to share and be satiated. The meals were very different but delicious. The corn bread was different than traditional southern corn bread. It tasted more like a pound cake. Our favorite was the grilled fish. So pretty and oh so delicious. I almost ordered one just for me. We didn't have a reservation so we were sat at the bar with a 1.5hr (I think) dining timeline. It's DC so I would recommend making a reservation and most restaurants ask for a reservation. We found restaurants in DC were pretty expensive. Be prepared for your bill to be between $100-$200 for two people. This was a great experience but not one that we would return to but definitely recommend folks trying them out! read more

**This was a collab dinner with Kalaya** The restaurant was packed when we walked into Kalaya. Apparently Moon Rabbit is a Vietnamese restaurant that was a semi finalist James Beard winner in 2024. We actually got to meet the chief- Kevin Tien and he was super personable. We were quickly seated at the bar. We ordered a Thai soda for our drink. It was really good and had pandan & coconut, lychee, hibiscus, and passionfruit, meyer lemon & lime. It had a nice, satisfying fizziness and lemon finish. Our first course took awhile to come because we ran like 15 minutes late for our reservation. The first course was turmeric mantou bun which consisted of an orange looking buns with an amazing dipping sauce (nam prik pao). I really enjoyed how buttery and crispy the buns were. Next up were the snacks like the Turnip Cake and Sakoo Moo. The Turnip Cake was really good. It had a crispy cake and a braised peanut. The Sakoo Moo had this tapioca ball on a cucumber. This snack was a miss in my opinion. The first courses consisted of kampachi tartare, banh xeo, soup see krong. I really liked the kampachi tartare. It consisted of these crispy noodle rices. I really liked how crispy the noodle rice were with the coconut mousse on top. The banh xeo is this turmeric crepe that has river prawn inside. The dipping sauce was Nuoc cham. I really, really liked the Soup See Krong. It was this beef short rib with pho broth. The pho broth was so flavorful. I highly recommend this dish. The second courses consisted of Nem Nuong, Chao Tom, and Duck Massaman. The chao tom was my favorite dish of the night. It had this lettuce wraps/paper wraps used with string hoppers, sugarcane shrimp, and pork. I really liked the sauces that came with this dish. I liked the pickled cucumbers offered with this dish as well. The duck massaman was unique. I really liked the massaman. The dessert was so, so good! It was the best dish of the night. The shaved ice with the pinapple compote was delicious. The pandan bread crumbs were very crispy and really added to the shaved ice. TL;DR: Really fun cocktail menu and amazing service! Now, food portions could be larger for the price. I've been wanting to check out Moon Rabbit ever since it left the Wharf. On a random Wednesday, my husband and I decided to make a reservation around 4 pm for 5 pm. I was surprised to see so many openings available. Anyway, arrived a little before 5 and they sat us in their "high top" area. We were seated promptly at 5. Super great asthetics, loved the bookcase of decour. Our server was great, super spunky and provided great recommendations for pair cocktails with food. I'm not a martini person but she convinced me to try their martini based off Pho lol. It definitely smelled like Pho but very anise forward if that's your vibe (unfortunately it's not mine lol). Anyway, our server recommended 4-5 plates to share for two people. My husband and I weren't that hungry and decided to just share 2 small plates and two larger plates. Perfect amount of food but expensive! We then each had our own desserts, I really liked my "breakfast" dessert and the drink pairing was interesting. I definitely recommend all the food we got (check out my pics). Dined here on Saturday, May 24, 2025. I have always wanted to dine here for a long time and finally had the chance to and was satisfied with our dinner. We opted for the five course tasting menu priced at a reasonable $85 a person. I thought the service was great and the food as well. I wasn't too crazy about their cocktail menu though. Highlights were the Sweet Potato & Crab and the Lemongrass Pork entrees. They were executed well. The stuffed leaf is ground wagyu beef so that caught me by surprise. We also liked the Kanpachi crudo. For desserts, we enjoyed the Curry snd Durian. The table next to us got the Pork belly entree which looked so good. I will have to try that the next time! Managed to get a last minute reservation when we were in town and had the dream meal I always expect when I visit Kevin Tien's incredibly innovative establishment and journey of love to Vietnam. The time before this past visit, Moon Rabbit was still at the Wharf. So, it has clearly been a while. However, the food is still excellent, and I'm glad they moved to Penn Quarter. Food: Kevin Tien really does have a way with spices. I think the food is excellent. We were there for Restaurant Week this time around and even though Restaurant Week can be sub-par, Moon Rabbit did it right. A ton of selections, and the food was delicious. I certainly want to return during non-Restaurant Week to have more choices and it not to be as slammed! Service: Service was very good, especially given that it was Restaurant Week and Moon Rabbit was packed. The server offered very helpful suggestions, the meal was paced nicely, and we were allowed to try tastes of wine before committing to glasses. I always appreciate that about a location. Ambiance: As I mentioned I really like their Penn Quarter location. It's in the old Co Co Sala space, which is very convenient to public transportation. Wow, this was an amazing meal. I came with a friend for lunch and we had a delicious experience. I started with the iced coffee mixed with lemonade, which was pomegranate lemonade and wow, I think maybe this is my new favorite way to drink iced coffee. We started with an order of the buns and butter, which was a great start. The tomato butter was out of this world. My favorite dish we tried was definitely the rice cakes they're different than anyway I've ever had them before but so flavorful. We also did the summer rolls which had a nice Cajun twist with the andouille sausage. For a main, we decided to split the beef and leaf, which was both a fun activity and delicious meal. It was a nicely lit restaurant with open space that'd be great for a date night but also for a group of friends. My friend had been raving about the fish oil drink, Hết Nước Chấm, and I had to try it. It was really good, it had such a unique taste that left me wanting more. For food, I was a bit less impressed. I thought the spring rolls were kind of bland. The beef in the stuffed leaf was a bit too salty but a good dish nonetheless. I thought the Mochi Beignet was decadent. Since it was my first time here, I went with the highly recommended tasting menu. My favorite dishes were the taro milk bread, stuffed leaf (bò lá lôt), and the green curry sponge cake. The milk bread was sooo fluffy and slightly sweet. The stuffed leaf was incredibly juicy and savory. I wasn't expecting to like the green curry sponge cake but every component of it worked well together. I wasn't a big fan of the sweet potato and crab (bun riêu), as I didn't like how the flavors went together and the lack of texture. I also tried their Have You Eaten Yet cocktail and it was so good! Just as it was described, it is a very tropical and confident drink. Being Vietnamese myself, the meal felt nostalgic and innovative. The food here is so good. Everything is good and the flavors just make you think, lol. I'm Viet so when I saw this restaurant it piqued my interest bc I love the Viet version of these dishes. Moon Rabbit is my favorite restaurants in DC to date, with such delicious and unique course selections. I was impressed with the artistic aesthetics of each plate, and the quality flavors from the restaurant. The waiters were very attentive and friendly, and the interior was a fancy aesthetic ambiance. The attention to detail even down to the butter was what impressed me the most. My girlfriend and I went with the "Taste of Vietnam" option, which was a multi course meal, hand selected that day by the chef. Our favorite was the cornbread and the crab gnocchi dish. We also really enjoyed tasting the varying dessert selections, as they were each so different and tasty. This restaurant exceeded our expectations! read more

Wow.... Where do I even start? We came here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. Without a doubt. they went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Everything was exquisite!!! Although I visited this restaurant before it relocated, I don't remember being blown away by their food like I was during this most recent visit. For food, my highlights were the Sweet Potato & Crab (Bún Riêu), Amberjack Crudo (Cá Hổ Phách Thô), Charred Eggplant (Canh cà Bung), coconut butter from the Cassava Corn Bread (Bánh Khoai Mì). I loved the coconut butter and the Sweet Potato & Crab so much that I cleaned my plate. The service was also wonderful. I called a few hours before visiting and someone was able to get me a table when the wait would have been hours long. I'm so glad I had an opportunity to revisit here and I HIGHLY recommend folks snag a reservation as soon as it pops up. This spot is not one to miss. read more

Another enjoyable meal at Moon Rabbit. I've been here a few times but first time dining in the far room with nice window seating, celebrating our anniversary. Unfortunately, the table of two behind me was drunk and likely couldn't tell they were shouting across the table all throughout dinner but that's out of MR's control. It was so serene when they left around the time we had dessert. To start, I had the Golden Prosperity, a light refreshing tequila-based drink. It came with a really tasty white chocolate chip with pomelo gel. Exactly the type of drink I was in the mood for (typically would get anything from the 'Forward & Complex' list). For food, we began with the cassava corn bread - 5/5 It came out piping hot in a cast iron, dense but bouncy, almost mochi-like. By intention, it's sweeter than your usual corn bread but it comes with a very light coconut butter which is quite tasty with the bread. I recommend the dish but might not be a repeat for me. Mochi beignets - 5/5 How the server described it, sort of tastes like a banh mi and she wasn't wrong. These small fluffy mochi balls had a slight spice to them, eaten with the BBQ'd freshwater eel and pickled vegetables definitely gave off banh mi and I'd order these again in a heartbeat. Curry prawns - 4/5 It's been about a year since last coming to MR and I've never forgotten the taste of the shrimp thermidor, so when I saw curry prawns, I was hoping that dish simply got rebranded. Not quite. Still a delicious dish, shrimps had a nice char on them and with a dash of hot chili oil in the sauce, really enjoyable. However, the price of $43 for 4 shrimp I thought was steep. Sweet potato and crab - 5/5 Used to be called Banh Canh Cua but now Bun Rieu but the gnocchi stayed the same, I think. It's as buttery and decadent as I remembered it. The gnocchi were soft pillows of tapioca with a plethora amount of crab proportionately. This dish goes next to Kevin's fried chicken dish as my all time favorites from him, a taste I'd never forget. Red snapper - 3/5 This is the first dish from any of Kevin's restaurants that I didn't love. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty to love about this dish. The sauce, the al dente freekeh, and wow the charred caulinis were my favorite part to the dish. However, as visually appealing as it looked, the snapper which was presented skin up, had a very soggy skin. I'm no professional nor do I ever present myself to be one (despite my IG account displaying my dishes), but I do believe skin up, sitting on a sauce usually means crispy skin. And because it was a soggy mess, it was just a burst of salt in your mouth and didn't quite taste/feel any szechuan peppercorn, which the salty dish could've used a bit of. The meat of the fish was great, melted in your mouth and was seasoned well, so you can imagine how salty the whole bite was with the salted soggy skin. We had to leave most of it off the dish. I'm hoping that was a mistake. Corn - 5/5 The last time I was here, the dessert options were curry, durian, seaweed and while they are all unique and delicious, my favorite was durian. This corn one though is making it close. There were so many gems in this bowl from the caramel on the bottom of the bowl to the coffee granita on the edges and the cheese gelato. For the special occasion, chef also gave us I believe a strawberry mousse with froyo. Service is always incredible with timely water refills and prompt cleaning and resetting the table. read more

In an effort to expand my D.C. restaurant repertoire, I visited this Vietnamese fusion spot for a Thursday dinner with a friend and left with a thoroughly delicious meal. Located in the heart of the District, its interior boasts an expansive, beautiful setup with bar and table seating available. We had a window-side table, which made for perfect people-watching as we ate. For the menu, you can order à la carte, indulge in their five-course 'Chef's Visit to Vietnam' pre fixe menu, or share one of their five daily Large Plates. Each dish we ordered was delicious and plated with incredible elegance. I enjoyed the Sweet Potato and Crab dish the most, but most were best tasted when you mix all the flavors of the plate together. While you can eat each as your own entree, it's of course best shared family-style. The Seaweed dessert was a bit of an acquired taste at first; I'd recommend letting the top melt slightly so it fuses with the rest of the flavors better. I think the overall meal was a beautifully plated experience that reflected Chef Kevin Tien's ability to experiment with creative recipes. Our excellent service topped off the fantastic dinner experience, with great suggestions and helping replace our utensils between courses. The chef's tasting menu is well balanced with traditional tastes reinvented. The cocktails are my favorite as those were pretty unique and fun. The desserts were very experimental. Perfection! Chose the Tour of Vietnam tasting menu along with the cocktail pairing and there was not a single dish or drink that I didn't love. The space was bright and cheerful. I felt at home and could easily relax and catch up with a friend who I hadn't seen in a year. The service was just lovely. Each person who came to our table described each dish beautifully. The stories about each dish were so fun to hear and I could taste the love in every bite. I was really excited for this place and went in for lunch with the the wife. We did app, entree and dessert special for $35 pp. we selected the following: App: Bbq shrimp 4/5 Rice cake 2/5 The bbq shrimp was very flavorful and comes sourdough bread to dip into the sauce. Overall pretty good! The rice cakes was really small and honestly not the best. Entree: Chicken katsu 3/5 Beef leaf 4/5 The chicken katsu was pretty good with the garlic rice. I think it could have used some curry to accompany with it. The beef leaf was really good it was a little small but I understand since it seemed like really good quality beef. Dessert: Tiramisu Cream puff These both were 10/10 and honestly some of the best desserts I have ever had. I would come back just for the dessert l. Went for restaurant week and I don't think the food quantity OR quality matches the $200 price tag... we were served pork rinds in the first course and I ordered the hangar steak, which was incredibly chewy and I couldn't eat some of it. For a "fine dining" establishment I would not expect pork rinds and chewy steak... The best way to end my last night in DC! The vibes were absolutely immaculate. We ordered 3 dishes which were enough for the two of us. The dish that stood out to me the most was the stuffed leaf- perilla leaves stuffed with A5 wagyu... mmm I knew it was a 10/10 at first bite. The staff were all super welcoming and warm. The sweet potato and crab gnocchi (inspired by bun rieu) was scrumptious... super herbaceous and I could definitely taste the crab. I loved the pork chop which came with rice and salad. Lowkey the salad was underrated, loved the crispy veggies complemented with the tart dressing. Pork chop was super juicy with all the rich flavors of Southeast Asia.
