Don't go to Moon for a dip powder manicure because she cannot do it. I paid full price for the worst manicure of my life here. I made an appointment two days prior and arrived on time. I was the only one at the salon so Moon came to me immediately. I told her that I wanted an ombre french tip with dip powder and asked if she could do it. She said yes and proceeded to waste my time for TWO. HOURS. Here's a break down of the timeline since it's important, and I told Moon when I booked my appointment that I had work at 3PM and needed to leave before then. 1PM - my appointment 3PM - work began for me and I needed to leave by then During my manicure, Moon was getting frustrated because she couldn't do it. When I noticed that she was attempting to give me a classic french tip instead of an ombre, I flat out asked her if she knew how to do it. That's when she admitted that she doesn't know how. At this point, I had been at the salon for an hour and I told her that I would be fine with a classic french tip if it was easier for her. Guys. SHE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO DO DIP POWDER!!! I don't know why she even offers it as a service. My manicure came out lumpy and the tips were awful, they weren't clean. When I inspected them, she sheepishly asked, "they look bad, huh?" GIRL, YES! At that point, it was 2:40PM. So I said, "Moon, you're aware I have work in 20 minutes. Where can we go from here?" She said she's better at gel and she could do that for me instead, so we proceeded. Even with gel, the manicure didn't look really good because she tacked on the gel on top of the powder she put on. I have natural nails so she put SO MUCH product on my actual nails that the products began to chip two days later and my actual nails started to break. At the end of my manicure, Moon charged me $50. She didn't offer a discount for wasting two hours of my life for the worst manicure I've ever had. On top of that, after I paid, she said "see you next week!" I asked her what she meant because I did NOT give her any indication that I wanted to return. She replied "so I could fix your nails." Umm, excuse me?? Why would I EVER return to your awful salon for your terrible skills??? Plus, she had charged me full price -- did that mean she'd do the same if I were to have returned for her to try to salvage what she wrecked? I just told her that I wouldn't return. I appreciated that she didn't seem deterred by my short bitten nails (I've been a nail biter since childhood). I don't have other manicure experiences to compare to, but I think things went pretty well. I asked for shorter nails since I'm not used to having long nails. She initially didn't trim them as much as I wanted, saying "I can also shorten them later, but never make them longer." She was right and it was the perfect length in the end. I came in for a gel pedicure and callus removal. The environment upon arriving at the salon was super clean, Moon greeted me and worked with me. My mom always says that pedicures in the Philippines are so much better because they actually deeply clean your cuticles and aren't afraid to use their tool, which I completely agree. Regardless, I still get a lot of pedicure here in the CA. When Moon began cleaning my toenails I was shocked at the level of detail. I have had a lot of pedicures as I mentioned but this one is memorable because I felt that she really cleaned my nails and cuticles. Which I haven't felt in a long time. I'm going to take my mom here because she'll be surprised. When it came to painting, she took her time, corrected mistakes, and the job was well done. I can't speak for the other services as I only got a pedicure, however if you want a thorough cleaning and nice pedicure, you can definitely get that here. However, i didn't give it a 5 star because I think she short changed me but I'm not sure if it was done on purpose; the total was 43, I gave her 60 and she gave me back 15 instead of 17. But she was super sweet so gave her the benefit of the doubt and counted it towards her tip (just gave her back 2 less than I intended to even it out). Although they were nice and took their time the nails was done poorly and I didn't get what I asked for and instead of making an argument I went the flow and figured it at least come out nicely. I did not get a foot massage, I even told them and the lady said she did which she did not. She just applied lotion 2. This was the first time in my life I have had to walk out in the middle of a manicure. My usual salon across the street was swamped and I was really hoping to get my nails done before traveling later this week, so I took a chance and tried this place out. The facilities are clean and the people are friendly, but the service was terrible. It took an hour to get my original gel filed off and my nails cut and shaped. I asked for my nails to be cut shorter and she used nail clippers on 3 nails and then just decided to file the rest of them without cutting instead. My nails came out uneven, the original gel wasn't even fully removed, and my cuticles are a mess - I think she just pretended to cut my cuticles instead of actually doing anything... I could see and feel her not using the scissors at all. I had to walk out after 1.5 hours as I couldn't continue sitting through this manicure. And the worst part of it all was that they asked me to pay $20 to have wasted my time and make me have to go to my usual nail salon for a FULL manicure tomorrow. I came here for a fill and pedicure. I showed her pictures if exactly what I wanted, almind nails, french tipped, and she shaped the stiletto, then almost ruined my shape and i lost length. I also told the lady Moon doing my hands that she didn't fill in the acrylic all the way down and around my cuticles, so i could still see my real nail and where the nail and acrylic was lifting on at least 7 fingers. She insisted nothing was wrong, then said she still had to shape and file them. Before she was ready to paint them, I mentioned how the corners were still exposed, lifting and unfinished. She at that point refused to finish.. I started crying because I work 2 jobs and had to wait tables at 8pm, and it was 6:35pm. She said she she couldn't finish my nails because she didnt know how, but really she had someone waiting.
