After a telphone…read moreinterview with staff members I felt the information I had available would justify a simple cleaning. Therefore, a 60 mile trip was taken to have a cleaning only. Upon arrival and some introductions to staff membership the dentist introduced herself. After a discussion of my request for a simple cleaning she proceeded with a short dissertation of how and why she would not allow for a cleaning without one or more x-rays that day. As the discussion continued I found her attitude to become arrogant, pompous and condescending. I offered information of my current x-rays. She would not accept them as current or significant. They would not accept documents I offered as proof of current x-rays. Very unprofessional dentist. She refused to have her staff perform a cleaning. This has never been the case with dentists I have used, for over 40 years, in the greater Sacramento area. It will be my pleasure to inform my acquaintances of the lack of concern for the well being of her patients. I have successfully used another dentist since with everything I asked for. T Mac

I'd been so nervous to go to a dentist because I hadn't been in years due to a lack of insurance and the cost, so I was so scared of what they'd need to do and of being made to feel bad for my teeth. None of that happened. Dr. Kan and her staff were so sweet and understanding. Dr. Kan was so careful and managed to save all my teeth. Something I didn't think was possible! She went so far out of her way to make me feel beautiful again and to give me a smile I could be proud to show. I never thought I'd be able to smile again unless I got dentures, but Dr. Kan completely made over my teeth with composite, and she gave me a beautiful smile without charging me a fortune. When she showed me my smile for the first time, I cried and hugged her and the hygienist! Lol I'll never go anywhere else. They have a patient for life in me. I can't thank them enough for giving me my smile back! Thank you, Dr. Kan!! I also edited to add that I've never had to wait more than 2 minutes in the waiting room. They get you in right away, and Dr. Kan has always been in the room and working on my teeth within 10 minutes of me walking in the door. That's really important to me because I have bad anxiety, and waiting in waiting rooms exacerbates it severely, so I'm very appreciative of how quickly they get you in and get to work! Like other reviews, the billing side of things leaves MUCH to be desired. They refused to set up auto payments with my credit card. After supposedly sending me a bill, after just a very short time, instead of calling me, they sent it to collections and refuse to work with me at all. In fact, I only learned about collections a year later when applying for a loan. I spoke to our new dentist and showed them the itemized bill and they were SHOCKED. The same treatments at new dentist were $140-much more reasonable. If my mechanic did that, the BAR would take their license. On top of that, actual dentist spent less than 10% of time with kids, the rest was all assistants. The actual dentist was nice and polite, the staff are lacking. I understand volume=profit but please-these are kids... Will not be going back. Ever.
