THE WORST group if receptionists I have ever dealt with. So lazy to pick up a phone and call to verify insurance. They charged my daughter the full price of a cleaning because they couldn't seem to understand dental was covered thru Anthem Blue Cross. I had to do the work they failed to do and verify her coverage so they can refund her. Every single time there is an issue with not finding her on the insurance when it has not changed. This is why I stopped going there and she will not be going back either. It actually doesn't surprise me since the receptionist did not even know she was covered up to age 26. read more

Dr. Dunbar has taken fine care of my family's teeth for more than two decades. A bridge he did that far back is still working perfectly. I like the way Dr Dunbar and his staff keep a careful watch over our teeth, so if there ever is a problem, they catch it very early when it is easier to fix. And in my experience, he only does what absolutely needs doing, and in the least invasive way. It has been my observation over the years that Dr Dunbar is honest, technically excellent, and easy to deal with. He answers my questions quickly and clearly. I used to have horrible teeth. Years of neglect and no regular dentist visits haunt me to this day as I struggle to get out of repair-mode and get in maintenance-mode.I am close...very close. I actually went a year with just two cleanings and teeth issues (although I did just have a root canal and a broken tooth this month...rats! So...knowing that, you can see the position I put Dr. Dunbar in when I came in and said "here I am. Fix me.". Dr. Dunbar's staff was awesome getting a plan of action for my dental work. My insurance is pretty weak, so we came up with a plan for the most important work first, then schedule smaller fixes as the insurance allows, with regular cleanings to keep on top of everything.Over the course of 2-3 years, my teeth have steadily improved. I no longer dread seeing the dentist because I HAVE to...I go so I don't need to. Since I began going to Dr. Dunbar, I have moved to a nearby town, and I still travel to Corning rather than finding a dentist in my town because I feel he (and his staff) have done such a great job for me. read more

I went to Dr. Dunbar because I wanted a second opinion. Another Dentist wanted to do a crown on one of my molars. My cost after insurance was going to be almost $1000. My first visit was great and I felt like an old friend. The office is very nice and clean. It was determined I did not need a crown and was given a filling. My cost out of pocket was $61. Only about $900 cheaper and outstanding service. Already made my next appointment to start regular maintenance. Couldn't be happier. read more

Dr. Dunbar and his staff are awesome. I have never taken care of my teeth and so require a lot of work on little to no notice and they are always able to get me in as quickly as possible. They are so comforting and helpful and not ever judgemental of my shortcomings as far as taking care of my teeth. He is great at what he does and makes even the most timid customers more relaxed. I have been to dozens of dentists over the years, but have to say he is by far the best at getting you in quickly, doing the work with excellence, and at a fraction of the pain that I have had to deal with at other dentists. Have gone to dr. dunbar for20 years. His staff can be rude and "red neck" but thats what you get in corning. He overcharges and robin has no sympathy if you can't afford it. Two root canals that dunbar had done had to be pulled to crappy work. I would rather go to del norte clinic that to ever have dunbar touch my mouth again! read more

I absolutely love this dental office!!! Dr. Dunbar isn't just a great dentist, he is a great person. The Hygienists are the best around! I can't say enough good things about this office. I have been going to see Dr. Dunbar and staff for almost 16 years and Dr. has been patient and caring when it comes to working in my mouth. Dr. D and staff put a high priority on patient comfort, ( I am not the easiest patient and have a high tolerance to Novocain) but I can only speak for myself and my two now adult children and my husband. Interesting that the poster above me complains of Dr. Dunbar's high prices, as I was compelled to write a positive review due to my opposite experience. The cost of medical services is a large concern for my family, as my husband's work cut back to only the most basic insurance coverage for their employees in 2009. After calling to several local area dentists, I chose Dr. Dunbar's office because they were the most reasonable (in some cases by a large amount) than other offices for the procedures I needed to have completed. Dental work isn't cheap, but I feel like I am getting the best deal possible and have found this office staff to be very friendly and the Dr. very professional. read more
