Wonderful kind staff from front to back! They did a wonderful job with a root canal that I was horrified to get. The team was thoughtful and understanding and listened to my fears concerns. They helped put me at ease and made me comfortable the day of my appointment and the day I returned for my new tooth. I was recommended by a bunch of teachers here in Chico and knew that they would not steer me wrong! I came in with a very bad tooth pain that lit up my entire jaw, it was so bad I didn't even know which tooth was causing it. I went to Ampla as an emergency patient and they told me to buckle up for a 6 week approval from my insurance. When I contact Chico Dental and told them what was going on and I wasn't an established patient (but was interested in becoming one) they got me in the same week and got my work done a couple days later. Thank you!!! Again I'm so grateful and want to say thank you for getting me in and taken care of under the circumstance. The dentist and hygienists here are excellent. When I came in (after not going to any dentist at all for like 7 years...) I wasn't doing well, I had gingivitis, and my teeth were starting to erode at the gum line. They showed me the X-rays to show where my teeth needed work and they had some great recommendations to fix it. I had to get a crown put in on the bottom, because I had like 5 cavities in the same tooth. It was no trouble at all. I have some anxiety about going to the dentist and the hygienist (her name is Gio I think?) picked up on that right away even though I didn't say anything. She did a great job of talking to me as she worked which really calmed me down. It was so bad at first, that they had to numb me for cleaning. I'm embarrassed that I let it get so bad, but hopefully this review encourages someone out there who's in a bad situation to go get it fixed. My insurance covers a certain number of visits each year for free, and after seeing how bad my situation was, they said I should come in every 3 months to get it taken care of. So we did that, but as we got to the end of the year, it looked like I was going to go over my limit. So instead they just said, come in the first week of January instead of mid December and it'll be covered again. So it didn't really cause a problem at all. I had to get all 4 wisdom teeth taken out, but it was such a quick process. They numbed me up, pulled them out, and I was back to normal in less than a week. (closer to 4 days) The only negative thing I can say about it was that hearing the sound of your teeth getting removed from your jaw is absolutely awful. It didn't hurt one bit, even after the numbing wore off, I still didn't have any pain, just some slight bleeding that was easy to take care of. i would definitely recommend Chico Dental Group to anyone in town who needs a regular dentist or some dental work done. They treat me and my family well. read more

The staff is really good, friendly, attentive, helpful. As for the dentist it seems no matter what he is to busy to actually answer questions or explain anything. Basically you get 30 seconds with the dentist and a bill for a few hundred bucks. After 4 years and a few thousand dollars later I bet I have had about 4 minutes of his time. Service: Having moved from LA and then Chicago, I didn't realize how mediocre and inattentive my dental service experiences had been. Until I came here to Chico Dental Group. As a new patient, I got a comprehensive set of dental x-rays, gumline measurements, and photos taken of my gums and teeth. A month later, my biannual cleaning was equally attentive. The hygienist thoroughly removed tartar buildup in my lower molars. She also recommended ways I could improve my flossing and brushing techniques - e.g. wrap floss around middle fingers and direct with index fingers; aim toothbrush towards gumlines on bottom row of teeth to prevent tartar buildup, and brush upper left food pocket thoroughly to prevent gum inflammation. Dr. Guevarra is also knowledgeable and patient in providing explanations if you have questions about your dental health. They sent me out not only with cleaner teeth and advice, but also with a free toothbrush, dental floss, and sensitive gum toothpaste. Free stuff never hurts! Ambience: Very quiet and clean waiting area and bathroom. I especially like that the patient seats face actual green plants, flowers, and bushes outside the dentist's office. Very nice people, BUT you need to do something about music or shows in the waiting room. I brought my son and for the first 20-25 min I got to hear one song over and over because it was on the menu screen for a movie, so I politely asked if they could do something.. what did they do, they changed it to a menu screen to another movie, so I got to listen to that song over and over for another 20 min before that one just turned off.. so now I'm sitting here in silence.. read more

Definitely one of the best dentists I have ever seen. Everybody in the office is super friendly, and Dr. Guevarra is great. I got 2 fillings put in this morning, he was done in less than 30 minutes, and the entire procedure was comfortable and painless. Even when he put in the Novocaine, he didn't yank on my cheeks like every other dentist has done. I even had some extra filling material on one tooth making my mouth not close up completely, I could it feel after the numbness went away, so I called them and they saw me again later this morning to fix it, no questions, no extra charge, no hassles. This has been one of the most pleasant experiences I've had with a dentist, and I'm glad I chose them. read more

My family and I go to Chico Dental Group for our dental care and Dr. G is awesome. He is sweet, kind and patient with me and my two little girls ages 7 & 11. Highly recommend! I switched to Chico Dental Group because it always felt "off" with my previous dentist. For example, during a routine visit, he came in, checked my teeth and then told me i needed a crown and started to walk away. When I asked him why, he looked annoyed as he sat back down to show me pictures of the crack in my teeth. I felt "bad" for asking questions about a procedure that was being set up for me. That was one of many reasons why I knew then I needed a new dentist. When I met Dr. G, he sat down, thoroughly talked to me about my dental health including the fact that I have receding gums and ways to prevent further damage, something no other dentist had ever warned me about. Overall, love going there and will continue to go there! My two young kids are also treated with care there as well. read more

Horrible experience! Dr. Guevarra gave me 2 hideous front crowns that looked like miniature marshmallows in my mouth. They were huge and did not resemble teeth at all. In an effort to make them fit, he sanded them down to a weird shape and when that didn't work he shaved down the front teeth of my bottom partial. It looks so unnatural and ridiculous! My partial teeth look like little white sticks. My Delta insurance refused to pay him and I had to go to another dentist to fix my crowns. I asked Dr. Guevarra's office if they wanted to remedy ruining my partial but they ignored me so I filed a complaint with the California Dental Board. read more

My whole family goes to this clinic for all our dental needs. Dr. Guevarra and his staff makes you feel comfortable while your on the dreaded dental chair. My 10-year-old daughter enjoys (yes she enjoys it!) going to her dental appointments. I got my tooth implant with them and Dr. G. has been very knowledgeable with the new advances with dentistry and cater this to the needs of his clients. My husband had his invisalign and so far, his teeth has been showing great improvements. I had the worst experience of my life at the dentist when I visited chico dental group. The dentist made me feel very uncomfortable and seemed to be in a bad mood. I came in for some fillings, and the dentist just got angry that the equipment wasn't working and tried calling an assistant in to fix it. There was also water that was spilled all over the floor. Once the equipment finally started working he just started drilling away (my jaw was locked open by one of the huge blocks this entire time). It hurt so bad that my body tensed up and I started crying. The dentist never once stopped to ask if I was okay. When he was done drilling he had his assistant do the fillings and never came back in to check on the work or on me. Very poor service and quality of work. The appointment took an hour longer than they said it would and I ended up being late to work. They also overcharged me and claimed that my insurance didn't pay for a portion of the work even though they did and sent me to collections without even giving me a notice. I will never go back to this dentist, and I hope no one else has to experience what I did with this business. The only reason I gave one star is because you cant give lower than that. read more
