I've NEVER had any any issue with anything or anyone at the office - all the staff is very kind and knowledgeable. Surh is former Navy, which I have a soft spot for as I have military family. In his waiting room, he has a photo of the ship he was assigned to, which I thought was a nice touch. He is obviously proud of his time in the military, which I appreciate greatly. The office is VERY clean, well kept, and there is water, coffee, tea, and other refreshments available in the wait room. Theres also a 2 TVs and a playstation, presumably for kids who might have to wait while parents or siblings are being seen. During the procedures, your room has 2 TVs mounted for distractions, including one overhead with subtitles always on (Lol, small details) for some additional distraction - normally tuned to HGTV, but the staff is always attentive and willing to change the channel if you prefer. Overall, I cannot recommend Dr. Surh enough. I've sent anyone who needs dental work to him and they all say the same - excellent service. Now the only downside: I have is that this man is the only DDS on site, so to see him, you may have to wait to see him. I promise you though, its worth the wait.

This was after ignoring my call all day. I chose to go elsewhere instead of deal with their behavior further. Seeing a dentist tomorrow that isn't upset about rescheduling.

They helped put me at ease and made me comfortable the day of my appointment and the day I returned for my new tooth. I was recommended by a bunch of teachers here in Chico and knew that they would not steer me wrong! I came in with a very bad tooth pain that lit up my entire jaw, it was so bad I didn't even know which tooth was causing it. I went to Ampla as an emergency patient and they told me to buckle up for a 6 week approval from my insurance. When I contact Chico Dental and told them what was going on and I wasn't an established patient (but was interested in becoming one) they got me in the same week and got my work done a couple days later. Thank you!!! Again I'm so grateful and want to say thank you for getting me in and taken care of under the circumstance. Three declined me due to being a MediCal recipient. Dr Tatla took my insurance. Dental staff are all very friendly, Dr Tatla not so much. As I waited for my prep for the crown he walked in picked up the silver syringe and tried to put it in my mouth without any numbing prep which scared me and I grabbed the chair and held on as he made me open wide and almost painlessly did a nerve block with just a couple of injections. I told him loudly he scared me but it didn't really hurt. It was very scary because no one ever gave me Novocain like that standing over me as I sat upright not already numb. Anyway it wasn't fun but I do appreciate his accepting me and my crown is beautiful and a perfect match. I don't think I would have gone had I read the reviews first so I'm glad I didn't and it's over. Skyway dental is awesome in case anyone is looking for a MediCal dentist who doesn't do crowns.
