My best spot to go to for my KBBQ. ive been coming here ever since ive found out about it and love it here. The whole place knows us when we come here its awesome and makes us feel good because they get to know you. im always asked about my son when i dont bring him and hes always welcomed when he does come. The portions are great and if you ever need more you can just ask and theyll put it in their system. My favorite thing about here is their kimchi soup and steamed egg. Its also hard to get radish wraps but here they have enough and if you need more they can easily get some for you! i tell my coworkers about this place and ive even met up with some on our own times, the fact that they come all the way over here when their are more closer locations to them just shows you how great they are. read more

Overpriced for such an ugly environment. It's small and dirty, the meat is basic, the poor staff is overworked, no unlimited soda, a beer bottle cost 10 bucks, it's 30 bucks for all you can eat, bathroom looks like a homeless shelter, the selection is small, they don't let you choose how much you tip, and there is no parking. I tried to have an open mind for new kkbq but I'll stick to my old favorite BBQ NIGHT in Hawaiian Gardens. read more

I work in Gardena and was excited to try this place but was sadly disappointed. Moon caught my attention because it's the highest rated when you search Korean BBQ in Gardena so this review is for anyone who is going to try it for the first time. The grill is super small. You can only cook two portions at a time. It also cooks way too fast so my meat kept burning. I finally asked for a side plate so I could put the cooked meat aside. The grill is really HOT. Any hovering while you're cooking is slightly unbearable. Table is tiny and the seats are tiny. Also, for anyone with bare legs, my knee touched the bottom part of the grill below the table and burned me. I'm just speaking for my table (one closest to the wall on the right by the doorway) and I'm not sure they all have this issue but that seemed pretty unsafe. I currently have Neosporin on it and I hope it doesn't scar. Meat quality was subpar, but I guess it does the job. I'm big on sauce and I thought all the sauce options were very bland. Also, the selection isn't very wide but I'm also comparing it to Gen Korean BBQ. Their pricing is $22.99 with 3x the options. I don't think they use their fan system and just leave the door open to circulate the air. You'll definitely be smelling like Korean BBQ when you leave. This place is by far the best kbbq place in Gardena! The meat is dank and consistent. Usually at other kbbq places I've been to the first two plates of meat will be good and then they start to get shitty or frozen or something of the ladder. The sides are standard and their kimchi is good too. At other places the kimchi can taste kind of sweet? Or something weird. This place it's spicy and delicious. Their prices are pretty good for the quality of the food. If you want so etching cheaper I suggest go to known, but that's quite a drive just for kbbq. Definitely this place is my fave. read more

I didn't think anything here stood out. The sides were all pretty bland, some weren't good at all. I was also bummed to find that the marinated short ribs, which was the only meat I found flavorful, was the one we couldn't have "all you can eat" of. Lame. I did think this place has a great, cheerful staff with a positive attitude. Everyone that came to our table was really cool. While the food is nothing special, this is still a good spot to come eat some meat with friends as long as you're not expecting wonders to come off of that grill. Meat Quality: Not bad at all! It's pretty good for an AYCE restaurant. A lot of places start serving brisket with more fat than meat after the first plate, but I didn't see that here. However, I was a bit disappointed at the thickness of the fresh tenderloin and the fresh pork belly. They were too thin! Haven't seen slices like that anywhere.. Service: By far one of the best services for an AYCE restaurant. All the waitresses are older women but they have great mannerisms and attitudes towards your endless requests. **TIPS** - Ask for soy sauce for your meat. Like my review for Jang Soo, Furusato was crowded and didn't want to wait for satisfying my craving for KBBQ. There was Moon Daepo BBQ right on the next plaza and it seem empty. We knew that the higher the price for AYCE, the less crowded a place usually is. So we decided to give this joint a try. My girlfriend and I have actually been here maybe three times and I'm finally writing a review. Exterior - Located on the busy street of Western Ave. in a very small plaza shared with other Korean businesses. The parking lot can hold probably 15 cars and that is including like 3 handicapped parking slots. Very large sign, I believe saying Moon Daepo BBQ in Korean, above their establishment. Couple of chairs outside for waiting parties. Interior - One of the smaller KBBQ I've been to. Can hold around 20 people. They have these very small round tables with built in grills. I feel pretty claustrophobic eating here because each tables are so close to each other. You can feel like the chair your sitting on is touching the chair of someone else on the next table. Customer Service - The first two times coming here, customer service was above average. It is one of the reasons why we came back. Our request would be answered and they do regular checkups which I found splendid. Some of the waiter/waitresses also spoke and understood English, so this is beneficial to non-speaking Korean customer. However, customer service has changed ever since. However we came two more times, and customer service has drastically changed. I felt like just because we were only a group of two and we did not speak Korean, that it is okay for them to ignore us. They rarely did checkups and they didn't reply to requests. We would ask for salad, and the waiter took our bowl and never returned. We had to ask someone else for the salad back. I'm not sure where the great waiter/waitresses went. Food - Food has been okay for all the times I've been here. They do offer two options of AYCE and the only difference is the more expensive one offers 2-3 more meat option. They offer meats such as brisket, black pork belly, chicken, beef tongue, short ribs, and other marinated meats or marinated versions of what I just listed. They offer very few side dishes(kimchi, potato salad, raddish, broccoli with red sauce, and one more dish). They do offer some special sweet sauce that goes with intestines. You must ask for sesame oil and hot sauce. They do offer deals on their Soju, I believe if you buy two then you will get the third one for a penny. Overall - I would not be coming back to this establishment again. I'd rather go to Jang Soo which is only a couple blocks away with better customer service and better food. I liked Moon at first, but last few experiences were disappointing. Last incident, they were very mad at me for not tipping them a lot. They practically ignored my party of three for half the time we were here and requests were not answered. I'd give a good tip if the service was good. That will be all. read more

This place was delicious! I always order beef brisket but I think the star of the show was the chopped sirloin steak! Everything was so tender! I would definitely come back! Side notes: we didn't get our drinks with the first person we ordered with...got 2 rounds before I realized they forgot. All good...no biggie. Another negative: they don't give you a plate to put cooked food...they just have the little plate you eat from. Free beer with check in! It was kloud beer but whatever it was free. We asked for a lemon and they said they didn't have any so they have us lemon juice.. But we saw a lemon slice in the water hm.. Ok great The owner kept coming by and turning down our heat.. I understand if there's no meat on the grill but why mess with it if we are in the midst of eating.. We cook at our pace so don't mess with our heat please. Other than that, the food was good, loved the egg souffle and the salad. The beef belly and short rib were great. Pretty great experience dining here! Although there was a long line and wait time I would definitely come here again. Most memorable item would be the thick pork belly and their sweet and sour sauce. :O absolutely the best KBBQ sauce I've ever tried! Point blank! I love their menu options as they come with a variety of side dishes, noodle dishes, ramen options and more! I would say probably the best Korean bbq in Gardena. The service was on point as everyone navigated the rush very efficiently. I highly recommend this place, try every cut of meat on the menu for they're all equally delicious! We are from out of town, but oh my goodness you need to come here. The all you can eat grill is straight out of the streets is Pusan Korea. The family that owns and runs the restaurant are wonderful people. The food was wonderful, rich in flavor and truly represents the true culture of Korea. I found not only the best soju and Kimchi and grilled beef and greens. Of all the KBBQ places in the South Bay area, Moon BBQ is probably the best KBBQ place out there! It definitely beats Gen if you are contemplating on where to go and eat in the South Bay (and you don't feel like driving all the way to Ktown). Gen is not that great in my opinion and save yourself a trip to Gen or Furusato for a trip to Moon instead haha :) What's great about this particular place is their meat quality. When you take a bite of their meat, you can instantly tell that their meat quality is sooooo fresh and tastes absolutely amazing! I recalled having their spicy pork belly and it was one of my favorites on their AYCE 19.99 menu! I believe prices went up since the last time I've been here. Thought prices went up, it's hella worth. For me, I would rather pay more for bomb ass quality meat than pay cheap and get bad quality of meat (Ahem...Furusato). When the meat tastes good, I'm pretty satisfied haha :) customer service can be improved on and I wish they have better ventilation inside the place. You will definitely smell like BBQ meat afterwards bc it's so smoky inside so do prepare for that (bring body mist or wear comfortable clothing). If you Yelp check in, you get a free bottle of beer! Food is yummy, and the AYCE menu is decent. They try to pile on the meat, and touch your food too often. If you eat slow, make sure to hang on to the tongs and don't let them get a hold of it or they will mountainstack the rest of your food on the grill. I also feel they are stingy with their premium meats - rounded down. So if you come with 3, you might get a portion for 2. Parking can get rough, and the wait can be long. Come early! read more

Some of the meat was chewy and only the brisket and spicy pork belly were worth eating for me. I definitely love the red radish and the free beer with Yelp! check in was nice. Came here with a group of friends (party of 4) on a Thursday evening (7:45). This is my second times here. (As of 06/14/12) We had the $17.99 All you can eat Korean BBQ. Heads up: this place is very small and not very roomy, including the amount of room on the table. We had a party of four and sat at a "decent" side table but was not enough room for ordering extra dish like soup because we have a lot of small dishes like "radish, cabbage, etc". The service here so far have been great. It was a little busy around 8:30 but didn't seem like they were "rush rushing" us. The only complain I have are I wish they would take away the dish for us since the table is not roomy for a party of 4. Also, they can be a tiny bit faster on refilling the house ice tea (without us having to keep on asking). Cleanliness: overall it's ok. Could you a bit rub down cleaning but isn't terrible. The restroom surprisingly clean (term of scale 1-5 its a 3.5) , compare to the outside. I really appreciate they kept on coming and changing the grill plate everytime we cook new meat. Foods: the BEEF here are delicious. We didn't try the chicken this time because my friends can't eat or stand the smell of chicken. If you never try beef tongue before, this is a great place to try. My American friends were very iffy to try, but they did, and one person love the chewiness while the other was ok with it . Neither hate the beef tongue . My favorite beside the beef is the Steamed Egg. Yummy. It have a hint of salt in it, so you do not need to add anything in it. Just returned from my first trip to Moon... I'm feelin'... meh! Not bad meh, not good meh... just average meh. I just didn't find myself jumping on Facebook to tell all my closest friends about it. The table orders three different meats, is served rice and other typical sides. The boneless short rib was pretty nice, tender and was probably my favorite; the brisket was tasty too and very thin-cut. My brother ordered the spicy marinated chicken which he enjoys but was too spicy for my tame pallet. I think the prices are what did it for me: AYCE for $17.99 with soft drinks for $2.50. Ouch. The bill (with tip) was over $100 for 4 people. And the table they sat us at was really, really small (even for a Korean BBQ place). Because we weren't a group of six, we couldn't have the larger square tables... they instead sat us at these kinda-bigger-than-Starbucks tables that just didn't cut it for four people. Because there are a few other Korean BBQ places with comparable, and sometimes higher, quality meat, I can't put this place at the top of my to-go list. read more

I love this place. All you can eat. Option A 26.99 or adoption B 29.99. I can get stuff, but I dont feel gross like if I was eating other types of food. I made reservation for tonight at 630pm. I walked in and thought it was a bit small but ok let's have at it. They took us to another room which I didn't see. It was kind of small and crowd, leaving us with a little counter space. We checked it and received a free beer although we all checked it but it's just one per table only (Bummed). We ordered from the wall as the menus is hung on the walls around the tables. The prices are reasonable $22 for AYCE. The grill is on the table with the banchan (side dishes) surrounding the grill on the table. We ordered a few of the listed meats and enjoyed a few cheers of lemon soju. I do highly recommend ordering the top sirloin! I wanted to say I don't like bean paste soup however I was a bit 'wow' on this bean paste soup. I actually really enjoyed it and their side salad! It was a cabbage side salad that kept me asking for more. I will not be back wit my little one only because it's super crowd and the tables are a bit smaller and he burned his finger touching the rim of the grill (it was reachable) and I couldn't push his chair any far back due to the small dinning area. I will however come back here without him. It's a great social gathering for those who enjoy taking the time to cook n chat with love ones. Lemon soju is a must try here. If you love K-dramas, Moon BBQ will make you feel like you're in your own cameo scene of a K-drama. The decor is straight out of every other Korean BBQ place featured in a K-drama where a character or two grill meat and drink soju. I don't drink, but I get to have my own little K-drama experience when I dine here. I've been here three times thus far and I love it! It's probably my favorite AYCE KBBQ in the area. The service is attentive and kind and the meat quality is solid. I know they don't have too much side dishes (ban chan) but it's okay. You can just eat your fill of their delicious meats! If you have kids, only take them if they know how to grub well. Kids pay same as adults. We took my friends kids and I'm proud to say they ate their money's worth. :) And the fifth grader declared it her favorite KBBQ. And I fully support her assessment. read more

This service was horrible. We got there super early & there were only 2 tables being served. The waiter seemed kinda mad. The food was great, but they would just post up & talk. Not saying that all they should be doing is working, but you gotta make sure your customers don't need anything. & the prices are too much. I'll hit Mapo up the street for a cheaper meal & better pricing. This place use to be good. They changed the age limit from 0-9 to 3-5. Come one now. read more

I went to this KBBQ for the first time last night and I must say it's one of the WORST customer service I've experienced. No one pays attention to you. I legitimately spent 10-15 minutes, faced away from the grill and trying to get a server's attention. Apparently it takes 3 servers to address the alcohol fridge... and one server in particular avoided looking at me the most. He the tallest working there and I didn't get his name. I asked him for more water when he brought more meat to my table, then he never got it. I tried to get his attention again, some other customer walked up to ask for water as he was at the host stand and he grabs their water first. I was super hungry but at some point I didn't even bother asking for more meat because it took longer to place the order. The only person I would say gave good service is this elder lady who works there. I think her name is Jenny? When I expressed how I've been waiting for the other servers to bring stuff I've asked about multiple times, she was attentive and sweet. Other than that, I wouldn't recommend this place at all. The meat quality isn't great. The price definitely was too much for its meat quality. The service is horrible... and last but not least, the place is small. read more

Everything that sounds spicy had good flavor, while the others did not have any flavor at all. We were not given a separate set of tongs to handle the raw chicken. The sides were OK, typical, and nothing stood out either way. The tables are very small, more so with 6 people around it, which left very little room for drinks or anything else for that matter. Most of the tables had bar stools around them, which were not comfortable for s long meal, which happens with AYCE. They did replace the grill often, but it felt intrusive more so when they placed other meats on the uncooked chicken! I know that they do b this to cut down on the smoke, but it was still smokey in there. I'm new to SoCal so I have been slowly hitting up all the various AYCE KBBQs! So far my top 3 are as follows: 1. Gen in Tustin 2. All that BBQ in Irvine 3. Oo-Kook in Koreatown Today I tried Moon BBQ but don't really feel I can fairly compare them to the restaurants mentioned above because I was surprised at how much less the cost was. We went with option A, which is easily $10 less per person than the others. That is practically a free large bottle of OB (beer). While the others have better ban Chang (side dishes) in terms of quantity and quality of offerings, Moon was really great for the price ($19). They had a lot of offerings in Option A as far as meat selection goes. Big thumbs up for the daikon... Not many places carry that! And if you ask for sesame sauce they also give you 2 other dipping sauces. Not bad. The best part of this place though was the service. It was a full house with a wait line, and our table collectively agreed the entire staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. Every 2 minutes it seemed like they were asking what else we wanted, clearing our empty sides and replenishing our table with more meat and sides. Anything we wanted, we received. I also made a reservation because we wanted to eat here but from the yelp reviews showed only one TV in the joint. We requested a table in front of the TV and despite showing up 15 minutes late, they had the TV with the Lakers @ Phx game on and we had the best seats in the house. We tried this place because after reading many reviews, this was highly recommended by many people. We came here because they offered outdoor dining. When we first sat down, I thought we had great service but as we were eating, the service was starting to go downhill. The workers was probably started to get annoyed with us since we kept asking for more things. However, I think if the servers would just stop and listen then they wouldn't have to go back and forth. We would literally be asking for items while they are walking like they didn't have the time for us. The meat quality was ok. The short rib had great flavoring while others was completely bland. I was a little disappointed as they don't have a variety of the side dishes. I also find that charging a 7 year old full price was not necessary. How much can a 7 year old eat? I would suggest they charge half price for kids which is completely understandable. This place was mediocre to me. Will I go back? Probably not but again, it's all my own opinion. read more

Solid Korean BBQ, great condiments, what more could you ask for? If you answered that you need more - you may want to do a little bit more research on Moon before arriving. Moon BBQ gives you two different all you can eat options - a $17.99 and $23.99 option. The $17.99 is a pretty good selection of meats. The Korean BBQ selection is solid and all have a good taste about them (everything from the kogi to pork belly and chicken). You can order 2-3 meats at a time before ordering more. Even better is the selection of sides which are super tasty and are plentiful. Try the soup for sure which comes with the meal - it has a great spicy taste about it. Moon also has a good selection of beer and soju (and some tea). Service is also great - they're very responsive and easy to talk to. One note - it gets super busy and the place is fairly small and a little smoky. If you're not coming early, expect some long wait times. Parking is also really small in it's private lot so look for parking on the streets nearby to help save any parking pains. Moon BBQ is solid in taste if a little crammed and tight in size and decor. As long as you don't mind the wait and the smaller space, it's worth a look-see for Korean BBQ fans. read more

First restaurant visit since self-quarantine. They check your temperature before coming in. I went on a Friday night and it wasn't crowded at all so that was a good thing. I thought the tables were too close to each other, so they could of spread groups away from each other more. The meat was good. Wish they had more variety of beef cuts for what they charged for all you can eat, but after not eating Korean bbq for awhile, everything tasted good. My favorite cut there was the beef belly.
