Stopped by here for dinner with my girlfriends at 5:30pm on a saturday. There was no wait and the staff was quick to seat us. We went with the premium menu for $58.99/person. I have had a few wagyu hotpot's before and this place is my fav by far! Amazing selection for sauces (build your own sauce bar) but the sauce bar does have peanut sauce so there's is a possibility for contamination for those with a peanut allergy. The ambiance was super chill, we definitely took our time eating and enjoying the food, more yapping than eating but we were never rushed even though there is technically a time limit. As long as there is no one waiting and I believe they are very lenient with the time. The beef was very tender and the seafood platter was good, however we were not huge fan s of seafood in hotpot and we ended up not finishing the platter(they did have a cooked seafood option, but we did not chose it). I would for sure come back for the base tier option and enjoy foods from the hot bar, seems like the non-premium meats are also great quality! read more

Our experience with this place was awesome, we came near closing, so we had about 1hr 30min to eat. But luckily we came on a Wednesday so the rush just passed as we saw many parties finished eating. It was literally empty we had the place to ourselves! They explained the menu to us that the membership promo that's going to end this month.we decided to try the premium menu for the membership price. The service was very attentive and kept coming over to check if we needed anything. The meat quality was so good I could taste the distinct texture for each no problem.And an assortment of premium seafood (lobster, jumbo scallops, abalone and tiger shrimp) I ate the scallops raw and it was sweet like sashimi grade LOL. They had a full bar with side dishes with different foods (curry,chasu,tomato egg stir fry, Kung Pao chicken,and a bunch of cold meats and more) be careful bc that can make u fool! They offered unlimited specialty drinks and sodas and desserts as well. This only comes with the premium menus . The interior was clean and beautiful and service was very attentive and friendly. Came here to celebrate my birthday and they have two different prices for all you can eat. If you love seafood and better quality meat, the 59 dollar combo is a way to go, since my family doesn't like seafood as much as myself, we sticks with the 39 dollar one and it's still worth it! You got a lot of hotpot options and still get free drinks, cooked food, soup and desserts. Just keep in mind you only got 90 mins to eat and also kids under 8 is 40 percent off but above is regular price. They also offer elderly discount as well. I never post reviews, but after our 1st experience eating here with my husband, we left so disappointed. The broth was not tasty, the food in the buffet area did not look fresh, the juices/teas that they have in the machines were all empty. We decided to do the premium AYCE for $58.99 each. The little bowl of broth was not worth that price, along with the meats they bring. It was so disappointing. I love hot pot, and I was so sad that this was our experience. Came to MooMoo Hot Pot with my family during their soft opening so the AYCE prices were pretty good deals. The premium price that includes a wide variety of different kinds of seafood and meat + desserts was around $55 each person. The standard AYCE price that only has 6 kinds of meat (chicken, pork, beef) was around $40 per person. We opted for the standard price but even with the limited menu selection, the AYCE bar made up for it! From fried rice, black pepper beef, and multiple soups to iced tea and boba, the mini "buffet" was delicious. However, the buffet area was kind of cramped and was a little difficult to grab items since there's no designated line. The floors were also somewhat slippery which made it hard to hold plates and walk back. The service was okay, as the servers did their job and nothing over the top. read more

I recently visited and I had a great time! The meat selection for lunch was limited for cheaper tier but the quality was quite good. The self serve bar had amazing selection of sauces and don't let me get started with the warm foods. My parents could get full just by eating self-serve bar. I believe they are still in soft opening so amazing discount for weekday lunch. The soda is also self serve, and they are not from the fountain but the tin can. Quite different than what you would usually see. The service and the ambience is quite laid back. The restaurant is spacious enough to feel comfortable, a great setting for family and friends gathering. Also, uniquely, their restroom is super cute. Additionally, the staff is helpful and friendly. It was our first time and they spent their time to let us know about their restaurant and the differences between tiers. I love Shabu Shabu. I love Wagyu meat. The meat is so good! I was looking forward to trying this restaurant and it didn't disappoint. The AYCE lunch option was under $30. To encourage you to fill up your appetite and eat less Wagyu meat, they have delicious hot plates. Crispy salted shrimps. Crawfish. Fried rice and garlic noodles. Three types of soups. The servers took their time to turn on the stove and bring me the broth I knew their tactics to get me to eat other foods. Usually I can resist but their hot foods are so amazingly good. In fact, I would pay just to eat their side foods buffet. There's only two beef options. I didn't want to waste my stomach on pork or chicken. The fattier meat was so good! Wow! And their sauce buffet was very complete. I love it! They have ver fresh vegetables and mushrooms. Their broth was very tasty as well. For Thinsulin fans, there's plenty of green light options. We booked a reservation for 5 people on the phone. They said it had to be 6 but just a few weeks before, when I called to book for 4 they said it had to be 5. They honestly do not have it together... Anyway, when we arrived, we were seated quickly which was nice but it went downhill from there. The host was also a server at some points and was incredible rude. After a long wait, we told her no one had helped us and that it was our first time. She looked irritated and didn't really explain how it worked. On top of that... they don't warn you that if you book a table, you must order the premium set $60+. This was not something I saw online and was not told this over the phone. She also said that of we walked in then we could have ordered the normal menu at $40 which we were planning. They even give you both menus when you sit. If they said that upfront, we probably would have gone somewhere else. Very deceptive and confusing. They didn't have enough servers and we had to keep flagging someone down to order multiple rounds of meat. We got the stir fried lobster option as well. It was a ton of heavy breaded deep fried lobster and seafood and not what we were expecting at all. This was the most horrible dinning experience of 2024 for me and I am still having hotpot PTSD from it. Not sure when I'll crave hotpot again. read more

I went there recently over the weekend while I was in Irvine and the service was great. I came right around or the start of peak dinner hours but I was able to get seated very quickly. We even saw this middle tree area that look like a bonsai and it was very beautiful and added to the vibe of the restaurant very elevated and classy. The meat quality I would would be a 4/5 I thought some cuts were very good and some other I would say just fell apart very easily so it was just a little disappointing. The toppings and food options at the self serve area was however very amazing and they had such a variety of options that it surprised me. From hot foods to soups to tea and boba evening boba topping and straws, sodas all included in the price so that was very nice. It was a little on the pricier side even for the basic menu. When we got to our table one of the cooker areas was broken so it didn't go above a 3 so we had to move and just slightly inconvenient. The team was very attentive and collaborative taking our finished plates very efficiently and quickly. The bathroom was also very modern and clean and beautiful so that's always nice to see. The ice cream was a nice touch but you can tell it's a little artificial flavor on the matcha but it gets the job done. There was a wide variety of hot foods, fresh vegetables, seafood, and noodles! To my surprise, they also offered free soda and specialty beverages, including Yogurt Drink, Jasmine Green Tea, and Lemon Black Tea, complete with toppings! The lunch special included four different meat options: Beef Short Plate, Beef Chuck Roll, Pork Belly, and Chicken. Our favorite was the chuck roll--it had just the right amount of marbling and was so tender after cooking in the broth. The food was excellent, though it sometimes took a little effort to get the servers' attention to order more since they were quite busy. Still, the overall experience was fantastic. This has to be one of the best hot pot lunch specials in the city, and we're already looking forward to returning. as a general oc foodie it's hard to find a great ayce shabu spot, this spot offers nearly everything you can find ranging from self serve sauce, appetizers, soups, drinks, and sides! the normal/lunch includes meats while the premium menu of 57$ includes seafood, wagyu, and existing meats from the normal menu. the general price difference is by 20$. i came on a saturday night two hours before closing and had no wait. there was a little than half of the room being full. service was quick and friendly! the one thing i did not like much is that the napa cabbage was hard to eat since other places cut it more so it's easy to consume better. highly recommend this place if you are in the area! The hot bar was underwhelming, its mainly where you can make your sauces, get veggies, a few hot dishes and a drink bar. I love that they had a drink fridge where you can just walk up to and choose a beverage. The premium menu also gives you another exclusive selection of drinks to choose from but I preferred the soda drinks over the tea and yogurt drink selection. The restaurant itself is big and has a good amount of staff walking around. We also did the seafood platter. Presentation was beautiful but you only get half a lobster tail per person. I think the lobster and the abalone was probably the higher valued items. The dessert options were either cheese cake or ice cream. They were really good! I love shabu shabu, and was looking forward to coming here on my birthday with the amount of good reviews I heard of all over social media... I would not come again. Servers seemed more attentive to parties who ordered more expensive menus (premium), but even then so disappeared for long periods of time to end up serving themselves for their own lunch breaks. No communication on if they were even going on break, or that our server was switching off for breaks. Maybe we came on a bad day. I want to give the benefit of the doubt, but surprisingly for 2pm on a Friday, it was not busy at all. At max 2 servers were going around after being waved down by tables who hadn't been attended to for a while. Ice cream was included in the price for our AYCE, but we decided to go straight to paying our checks and leaving. When it comes to customer service, please do better. MooMoo advertisement is misleading as they mention that they are known for wagyu; however, if you're not upgrading to the $60 a person all you can eat then the meat option are non-wagyu and honestly just really on the low side of average. They have a lot of options for broth and I ordered the "Thai Tom Yum" broth but it was NOT what I had imagined. The description does not mention anything about schezwan and the broth was schezwan flavored! Me being very sensitive schezwan and the numbness, I asked my server to change it but was charged $3 for the change. (On this note, the Customer Service was not great or accommodating at all.) I did notice that they let other guest at the other tables sample all the broth so I would highly recommend tasting the broth before committing to one. The hot food options were also based on schezwan flavor so I didn't try much of it at all. Everything was pretty salty and you couldn't really have too much of it.
