Tonight I had the displeasure of DoorDashing order from moo moo's burger barn. When the dasher arrived he only had one dinner for me and I informed him I had ordered 2 classic burgers one with fries and one with onion rings. So I called moo moo's and talked to Kim the manager she informed me they had run out of onion rings so she just canceled my other burger. I asked her why she didn't call me as she has my number to see if I wanted to substitute the onion rings. She informed me she was too busy so she just deleted my other dinner. So my guest needless to say had no dinner. I won't recommend this establishment to anyone. When I requested a refund for the dinner I did receive she said she had no control over that even though I was inconvenienced. read more

Their website said they close at 8:00 pm. We arrived at 7:20 pm and were told they will only do take out. I asked why and the employee said it was very slow today. We were pleasantly surprised by the food at moo moo's burgers, i bookmarked their branch in rocklin to try it out but we were in lodi area and we wanted to give it try and i'm glad we did. Everything was delicious, the appetizer sampler was so fun to try out different sides, and i was shocked by the portion of the salad, it was huge. I have never dined in here until recently but i learned i never want to go back. The "hostess" who was also the "waiter" had such a weird attitude about everything. no hello or anything just a " sit wherever" so we did. he asked if we knew hat we wanted as soon as we sat down. which people at my table didn't. asking him for anything felt as if we were a problem to him. he eventually came up to the table with our receipt and never asked if we were done. when we said we wanted the check separate he ripped it up in front of us and walked away. he came back with a new one and we went up to pay for our food. it automatically wanted me to give him a $9 tip for a $40 order. he was lucky he even got $2 because the whole situation with him he didnt deserve a tip. the place itself is cute but sad the employees are ruining it for this business. read more

I was roaming around Lodi and saw Moo Moo's Burger Barn. The name definitely caught my attention and the interior had this some what of an old fashion diner feel to it. I figured I'd stop in for a little mid day snack. There were so much to choose from on the menu but the Moo' Na Lisa caught the eye. It had all of the wonderful calories you could thing of: 1/3 lb beef patty, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, fried jalapeno coins, Moo Moo sauce (similar to thousand island), bacon, fried egg, and avocado for around $14.00 and it comes with your choice of side. I got the fries. There were two of us and we decided to split the burger because this burger just seemed overfilling with all of the ingredients in it PLUS it came with fries. Well, we told our server we'd like to split the burger and surprisingly the burgers not only came out split in half, but it also came in 2 trays with pickles and french fries in each tray. The portions were also very generous. The servers were very attentive but yet gave us space when we needed it. I'll definitely be back to try more items on the menu! read more

Sunday the 28th, about 2:10pm, after the movies, I went next door to Moo Moo's to get a Burger to take home. I ordered a Cheeseburger ( I asked for Pepper Jack) & Bacon on a Kaiser Roll with Sweet Potato fries. They charged me $17.43 & when I got home, I open the box & found a Regular Hamburger, on a Hamburger Bun with NO Cheese at all. Reminds me of Jaspers burgers from the 90's or Johnny Rockets. A little burger spot with the 50's vibe. It has an array of painted walls with bright colors with pictures of cows. We sat ourselves and the menus were alreaady on the table. It had an array of hamburgers chicken sandwiches and fried fish, onion rings, and fries. They also offer gluten free items as well a gluten free bun. The server was friendly she took our orders and did a great job with bringing our food to us steaming hot and fresh (kuddos to the cook). We have been here a few times and it's consistently good. Small old fashioned diner feel with friendly service and good burgers. They also have delicious onion rings and sweet potatoe fries! Drinks are large so you don't need refills. Shakes are amazing. Water always tastes a little funky to me, though. It's right near the movie theater with street parking and a large lot a block away. Amazing. Was passing through off of 99 and searching for fried zucchini as it was a major need in life at the given moment, the town and area is amazing, the atmosphere inside was wonderful, sat at the counter top bar and the service was nothing short of amazing. The zucchini was a major hit and checked off every box needed. Also added chicken strips and fries. Everything was excellent and could not have been more pleased. First impression of this place is so cute and small country like. The service was amazing. The lady was extremely patient with us because we were. Ever ready when she came to out table. I had the No Moo Burger which means no meat at all. It was by far one of the better veggie burgers that I've had in a restaurant establishment in a very long time. We were from out of town and wanted to stop by a Lodi local location. Felt like burgers and this place looked fun. And wow. We were impressed. Had a diner feel, 50's music, all the feels. I visited Moo Moo's Burger Barn today with family. One person in our party had the fish sandwich and she said that the McDonald's fish fillet sandwich taste way better which means the sandwich was not good at all. The rest of the food was OK. Other than the poor tasting fish sandwich the food was OK. However the customer service was terrible! I would not recommend anyone coming to this restaurant nor will I ever return to this restaurant if I should visit Lodi again. We were not greeted upon entering the restaurant. We immediately sat down and waited a good few minutes so I decided to walk over to the counter and put our order in just for an appetizer plate so they can get that started while we were waiting for our waitress to come to our table to take our drink order. I would've normally been fine waiting a little bit of time but everybody in our party was not just hungry but starving. The young lady that helped me said that I would just have to wait for the waitress to come to our table. Really? During the hour we dined here there was less than a handful of tables occupied. There was quite a few workers here. We almost wanted to sit at the counter but the counter seats were occupied by the workers young children playing on electronics and a young lady that was a worker but maybe on her lunch hour or hanging out after work and maybe doing her homework? I have no idea. with all of the clocked out workers and children that are not in daycare but instead sitting at the counter of this diner because their parents are working maybe they should create a space for an employee break room for the workers and their family to go on electronics and hang out or whatever. The waitress wasn't very friendly. But the young lady who basically refused to take my order for appetizer platter was later cleaning a table by our table. My young son was asking me why is there a fire in the kitchen. So I told my son let's ask this young lady that works here. The girl stated she did not basically know anything about how they prepare the food and wasn't sure if they cook the burgers over open fire or what. She knew nothing about the kitchen.It was almost as if "Scotty" himself just beamed her into this restaurant to work for the day. Other than wiping down a table and learning how to apply her make up almost Halloween like she knew nothing about working in this diner. Anyhow after our almost $20 appetizer platter was delivered to our table, they didn't bring any small plates to place or appetizers on. So I walked over to the counter and asked a gentleman for some plates and he seemed very bothered that I asked for plates especially six! Mind you we are a party of six. I said we just ordered an appetizer platter and we need plates. He was very annoyed and upset that I asked him for plates. It's almost as if he was the dishwasher himself and couldn't tolerate one more dish for the day. I did not know that this diner offered anything other than french fries as a side. I think the waitress should be asking me what I'd like for my side so that I have a choice. I seen other people get salads and I had no idea that salads were an option as a side instead of french fries. Anyhow when it was time to pay the bill they charged almost 8 dollars in sauces! We paid almost $20 for an appetizer platter and you'd think with $20 worth of fried food that you'd get something to dip it in. Everything that everybody ordered required some sort of sauce to dip your fries or chicken strips or whatever in. Not once did anybody say hey we're going to charge you X amount of dollars for this side of ranch etc. Instead they just stuck it to us with a bill at the end. The waitress should've said I'll be happy to get you a small cup of ranch but just to let you know it's an extra dollar. A heads up would've been nice. The bottom line to my review is not one worker seemed happy to be employed there. I have no idea how in the world this restaurant has as many stars as it has. Ordered their Flamin' Moo ($5.95) which is: Corn Bun 1/3 lb Hamburger Pattie PepperJack Cheese Bacon Grilled Onions Ranch Dressing Battered Sliced Jalapenos Order of Fries $1.75 Strawberry Shake $3.75 First of all, I would not characterize this burger as Flamin' at all... It's just a Blah! Burger. Each one of the ingredients that make up the burger could produce a decent tasting burger... but the sum total of this Burger produces NOTHING of any value... NOTHING. Carl Jr's Jalapeno Burger was quite a bit better than the Flamin' Moo... Creating a menu that consists of 16 kinds of Burgers is the main problem here... just like Andre's humongous list of burgers - It seems as if whomever created the Burger varieties just tossed ingredients in the pot and hoped it turned out OK - without performing a taste test! C'mon guys... you can think up something better than that! How about... you guys were watching an ad for the California Dairy Council one evening? Or we were driving by a dairy.... Or we had this experience with a cow... Frankly, I don't think the owners are in this business for the long haul... For a guy who doesn't eat a lot of burgers, I sure review a lot of burger joints. Why? Because the quest for a truly great burger is a noble one. Yes, it comes at a sacrifice, as you look back at the many thousands of calories worth of mediocre burgers you ate along the way, but finding a truly great burger makes it all worthwhile. Moo Moo's Burger Barn has, when considered objectively, a truly horrifying name. Comparable examples I've just made up off the top of my head: The Happy Fuzzy Lamb Shish-Kabob Restaurant and The Three Little Pigs BBQ Emporium. I mean, you're essentially taking a childlike reference to anthropomorphized barnyard creatures and rubbing it in your face that you're, well, rubbing your face in them. That fact notwithstanding, the burgers are great, as are the onion rings. Wifey had the sweet potato fries, which she thought were "decent, not great" and I thought were too starchy. I had the BBQ Moo (cute names continue unabated), a Cheddar bacon cheeseburger with BBQ sauce and deep-fried onion strings. Awesomeness. Wifey had the Blue Moo, a blue cheese cheeseburger. I also had a chocolate shake, and that allowed me to discover that Moo Moo's does what I have been begging restaurants to do for years: just serve the whole damn shake in the can. What sense does it make to make the shake in the can, then pour some of it into a glass, then give me the remainder in the can? You're just creating unnecessary dishes! Just give me the damn can, plus a straw, and let me figure it out. Moo Moo's and I are like secret soul brothers in this sense. Which is probably the only context the word "soul brother" has ever been applied to me. Which is another way of saying I'm white as hell, people. There's nothing I can do about it. We were visiting a friend nearby and had a Groupon for this place so we decided to eat here. I was delighted to find out it was located in Downtown Lodi. Cute lil town! I couldn't wait to get out of the car. We walked into Moo-Moo's, were greeted and told to choose any table available. It's rather small inside but we still managed to get a booth for two. We ordered chili fries, garlic fries, the Monster Moo and BMS Moo. Everything was good. I appreciated that the fries were hot and fresh. Straight from the fryer to our table. We don't eat here a ton, when we're craving comfort food this is however one of our go too spots. The menu isn't super imaginative but what they produce they do consistently. This trip I ordered a Reuben w/ onion rings and my wife ordered the French dip w/ fries. The food arrived quickly and was hot. The onion rings were delicious as were the fries. The French dip would've benefited from a) mayo and or b) more au jus, as the sandwich was a little dry. The Reuben was greasy, and heavy with thousand island. Not terribly so, but probably would've been good to go a little lighter. Over all the experience was good, and well be back when we need to scratch that comfort food itch. The place was clean, service was good and overall comfortably situated. Parking can be a pain here (downtown Lodi), so plan ahead. read more

We elected to try this place and I have to say it was one of worst burgers I've eaten in recent memory. The days of the 'two finger thick' burger are over unless you go to a fancy restaurant. So I ordered a double patty as I usually do at In & Out, Smash Burger, Habit and other similar places. Given the pictures and the boasting of their meat quality, I asked if they could cook it 'medium rare' and to my surprise they said yes. Usually these kind of eateries don't, so I seldom bother asking! My burger came looking impressive, but when I bit into it, the center was cold and the outside grey!! The meat was tasteless and there was absolutely no sear to the patties, as though the grill was not up to temp! The meat was disappointing , no fat flavor and a weird fibrous texture. I complained and they offered to make me another. I told them, only one patty this time, and to cook it like they normally do, forget medium rare, figuring I'd get a better seared burger. But the results were the same! Im figuring this could be the result of a combination of things - first : poor quality meat with low fat content tasting like cardboard Second: poor cook training ( especially today when all burgers are cooked to death) Few know how to cook medium rare! Third: burgers should not be thrown on a grill, frozen!!! Or extremely cold as this one tasted! Fourth: Low temp grills In addition, the trend today in these kind of establishments seems, a concentration on the fixings. Thin, dry patties stacked a mile high with a ton of fixings as though to compensate for the lack of flavor in the meat. I rarely eat at places like this due to this being a consistent issue these days! The flavorful burgers I had as a kid are from a bygone era! Do yourselves a favor, purchase 80/20 good quality chopped meat and make your burgers at home! I left disgusted and will never return! This is my response to the owner's retort. Please do not insult my intelligence! I ate in your establishment in Lodi and the burger was NOT COOKED PROPERLY! I ate a freakin cold burger in the center and the redo wasn't any better. Your grill needs to be HOT!! ....for searing! You need to teach your cooks proper cooking procedure! A grey burger with no sear is UNACCEPTABLE! In addition, I find it mystifying how an owner would agree with his designer, that cutesy cow pictures and salt shakers are a good marketing idea. Do you really think one who dines on the meat of an animal, likes to be reminded of the source of the meat? Wow the salads and service was great. Really enjoyed it. I was surprised as it certainly was not my first choice for lunch before the movies I do not eat Burgers so I was not expecting a salad to be this good. The Greek salad was perfect the dressing has feta in it! The olives are NOT pizza olives but the real Greek deal. Our server was attentive and polite. Great meal, great experience all around.
