She did not get the chance to live in the independent living area as she was admitted to the healthcare center but she loved it. From that first Saturday night we were treated as family. It was still COVID and they had wonderful precautions that always made you feel safe. Momma immediately became part of the community She may not have been able to walk but she had everything else. She joined in the recreations from bingo to "21" to dominoes to singing and telling stories. Everyone knew her. She thrives on making people laugh and the entire staff loves her. Mt Miguel was a true gift to our family. From the CNA's to the kitchen staff to the recreational staff they always made momma feel great. A special shout out to Tom and Olivia who not only always made sure momma was good -they now have become our friends for life. We never wanted to have to admit momma anywhere but it eventually became too much for us to handle. Mt. Miguel saved our family and we will be forever grateful for the care, the love, the compassion and the excellent care she received until the end. I will recommend Mt. Miguel to everyone I know. Although some of the…read moreplaces we visited were clean, friendly and could work, when we visited Casa Primavera we encountered a distinct difference. This is a 6 bed, cozy home in a residential neighborhood that provides both senior and memory care. There was a feeling of belonging, family and genuine caring for the residents. Looking back on that day, I had no idea what we had come across with Casa Primavera - these folks are amazing! I remember talking with my sister right after the visit - we both agreed Casa Primavera was special and the right choice for Mom. My mom was at Casa Primavera for 2 years before she passed away. As her dementia increased, she needed more care and it was provided, yes the cost stayed the same. That was different from where Mom had been previously. Mom had to go to the hospital - while visiting her, Rudy (one of the caretakers) walked in and Mom lit up like a candle! I was pleasantly surprised to see him. What other facility does that? Placing a loved one in a facility can be overwhelming and Huntington Gate made us feel comfortable, safe and at peace with our decision. The owner, Phillip, knew all the right things to say and helped us along the way. He made us not feel guilty about or decision by explaining the round-the-clock care and how we could now rest and focus on being his family. Our caregiver, Tess and everyone else were so kind and knowledgeable. It's hard to be around such sadness, but they made us feel good. The office staff were available to talk to 24/7 whenever I needed to report a change in condition or whether I was simply unsure about a certain situation. This made me feel at ease that they were so responsive which also reassured my clients that they were in good hands. I continued working with Right At Home as their nurse and I got to experience the administrative side of things. I got to know the care managers who visit the clients, the care coordinators who coordinate staffing in the office, and the owners Marc and Tina Gray. The staff act as team players who always have each others back making sure the client is always safe and that the caregivers feel comfortable. I don't have enough good things to say about them as they treated me as though I was family. Whether I had a simple or complex question the owners would always stop what they were doing and say, "we always have time for you".
