If I could give this shop 6-stars, I would. On Sunday night, my passenger side mirror got ripped off and my passenger door got keyed while my car was parked in DTLA. I went in on Monday morning and the parts were immediately ordered. Annie calls me Tuesday afternoon saying the parts arrived. I dropped the car off Wednesday morning to get the work done. Within an HOUR, I get a call saying my car was ready. WHAT?! Incredible. My own experience with Ray and Annie was consistent as I found them to be friendly and honest and gave good advice to the point of not overselling any additional work. Came here to repair a rear bumper on my teenager's car that had a damaged parking sensor and liftgate surface dents. This was all going to be out of pocket. I was in the area from out of town and my curiosity drove me to see how much it would cost to repair it in the LA area as I had gotten 3 quotes back in the Bay Area of Nor Cal that ranged from $3500-$4500, depending upon if I wanted to replace the liftgate. I came by on a Saturday when Ray generally only works on vehicles and doesn't do quotes. However, as I explained my situation, he spent the time to talk over the options, looked at the car and gave me a rough estimate for doing the work. I was pleasantly surprised that it was a fraction of the cost of the previous lowest quote I had received for effectively the similar repair. That sealed it for me since I knew I was going to be back in the area in a few weeks time. I coordinated with Annie via phone for the ordering of the parts and an appointment for the work. I wasn't expecting the car to look pristine given several dents were being pulled and my priority was to ensure the sensor was again working. Both elements of the work order were successful and the appearance of the liftgate was much better than I had expected. Overall, while the experience of having body work done is probably not enjoyable, dealing with folks like Ray, Annie and their team who provided quality work at a very fair price eases that pain. Just got back from MPAC. Car had minor rear bumper damage. It got caught on a short wall, and the right rear of the bumper got unhinged. I took it there and Annie (who was friendly and chill) took a look at it. She carefully drove my car to their shop bay and two gentlemen came out, assessed it, and put the bumper back into place. There was a scuff on the front bumper of my newly purchased car and so I needed to find a body shop. Ray was accommodating, insightful but most importantly, not annoying like the other 2 guys I got quotes from who seemed like they had zero respect for what little intelligence I seem to have. Was it cause I look like a dumb millennial who has no understanding of how combustion engines work or what car wax is? Who knows but Monterey Park Auto Collision was decidedly not like the others. This is the kind of body shop Jonathan Gold would have written about if he needed to get his truck fixed (and if he were still alive). Nestled among a handful of other shops in what feels like an autobody bazaar, Ray made me wait for less than 5 minutes despite his busyness and I was offered coffee and water before he even gave me a quote! All of the communication with my insurance was handled through either Ray or by his secretary whose name escapes me at the moment. They even arranged for Enterprise to come to pick me once I dropped off my car. The scuff on my front bumper is now completely vanished, replaced with a smooth coat of paint and nothing else. The turnaround was quick, putting me back on the road to cause more scuffs in the future. "I hope to see you again," Ray mentioned as I was leaving then correcting himself he said, "Hopefully you don't have to come back here. People only come here when something bad has happened.
