Best pizza I've ever had in my life, so cheap about $2-$3 a slice and great vibes!!! 10/10 recommend.

we initially came here cause we thought they had karaoke. I think they do but just not when we went there sadly. there is no private parking here it is street parking, we did not drive so I cannot say if it is easy or not to find parking in this area but it looked pretty ok. as we came in we noticed that this is not a very large place and I am not sure why they call themselves cafe cause I did not see any coffee being served here lol they have a full bar with is pretty great and their prices are pretty ok. adjacent to the bar there is a little pizza stand and let me tell you that their pizzas are no joke, they are pretty good. the bartender was pretty great and she let us take care of the music and we managed all the music in the spot so we had a great time while we ate there. if you come here the calzones are where it is at. just be advised that the calzones take longer to get cooked but it is totally worth the wait, trust me on that one: MAC DADDY- what a great calzone, it is Mac and cheese with garlic sauce wrapped into a calzone ( all calzones can be made into pizza style and vise versa) it was the best choice I made here. I do not regret at all ordering pasta inside of pasta, it was so delicious I wish I had ordered 2 of them. PIZZA FROM HELL- my friend got this one as a calzone as well, he was used to spicy food and we had some latinos with us but this was so spicy nobody was able to eat this. so I would say only order this one if you have a death wish or want an ulcer. another friend ordered an regular pizza and I didn't think is was as good as the calzone versions of the meals so again I would say to order them as a calzone. these dishes are very large, I split my calzone with one more person and it was plenty for both of us. this is a great place for pizza, I can safely say It was the best pizza I had in this state.

I've heard about this place for years, and friends of ours took us here on a double date. I have to say some of the best pizza I've ever had.... top 5 on the west coast... Best I've had in the greater Spokane area! Very small location, seating for probably 20. The ONLY reason they didn't get 5 stars... Is our cheesy bread was WAY undercooked. They were very apologetic, and promptly resolved the situation. Our server was very friendly, prompt and courteious. We WILL be eating here more often.

What an incredible find on a Tuesday night! It just so happens that it was half price pizza night and karaoke starting at 9 PM!! The HUGE pizzas ordered: The Beachcomber and the Wingman. The crust chosen was the hand tossed thick crust since the server advised us that the thin crust really does not do a good job of holding all the toppings. The taste in itself was average; probably because I am not really a hot wings guy however the Beachcomber was better with the bacon/meat. If I were to order again, I'd go with something with bell peppers, mushrooms, onions to liven it up AND with the thin crust option. Just a note, order one pizza first as they are gigantic. We ordered two pizzas for 4 people and still had a whole pizza left. The karaoke was interesting and fun. Many regulars and great singers. I could have sworn that Shakira reborn showed up and amazed us all. A few funky performers sung up a storm as they were a-hoppin' and a-skipping around the tables. The lively crowd sung along with most of the songs and had a grand 'ol time. From what I hear, they have karaoke every night there. Check it out, highly recommended. I know I will be back again next time I am in town.

Looking for a dive place to do karaoke? Cheap beers, fun group of people, good selection of songs... One of those places where when you show up and you're the only people... You wonder what you're doing there. But with a few tricks of the clock the place is filled with people looking to have a good time. BTW I went on a Sunday night. And hey KJ - If the picture we took with you comes out... Please tag me (Instagram) and I will tag members of the group.

Cheap pizza and pretty servers makes Monterey Cafe pretty cheap. Two slices of pre-made pizza for $5 offered a quick lunch. One slice of white pizza with chicken was different while another featured a huge thin pepperoni slice. They pizza wasn't good. The pizza wasn't terrible. The pizza was simply cheap. A Ninkasi Total Domination IPA made the lunch a whole hell of a lot better. There aren't any draft beers at Monterey Cafe. Bottled-beer and pizza go together at home, so, why not at Monterey Cafe? Two other things that go together are cheerful and charismatic ... like the delightful duo working at Monterey Cafe during the lunch break. The bar is on the left side of the restaurant and the pizza is on the right when you first enter. Both sides had fantastic friendly service. Pretty cheap Monterey Cafe is a downtown Spokane option when wanting to be charmed by beauty and the promise of quick cheap pizza.

Looking for a place where you can you get a 40oz beer and some pizza when you're wasted? Well then! You're in luck! I literally stumbled upon this place and was impressed from day one (I've been here multiple times now). You never know who you'll run into...locals, homeless, Zags players and coaches, politicians...this place is legit! Lots of hungry college kids frequent this dive bar so if you don't finish your pizza please donate the rest to them! Thanks :)

Don't forget to tip the KJ. I do like to go there. Sometimes the whole bar is singing with you.

The pizza by the slice is soooo yummy. This is another place close to the comedy club. It's fun to watch the karaoke and I love their pizza.

The whole atmosphere is dark, cozy, moody, and feels more like a hidden lounge than a typical downtown bar. Between the lighting, music, books, and dramatic cocktail menus, the vibe alone makes the place worth visiting. We tried the espresso martini, Painkiller, and Bloody Verde. The espresso martini was smooth and easy to drink without being overly sweet, and the Painkiller had that creamy tropical flavor that somehow still worked with the darker speakeasy atmosphere. Keeping it honest though, the Bloody Verde just wasn't for me personally. I can still appreciate the creativity behind it, but the flavor combo just didn't match my taste buds. That being said, if you like savory spicy cocktails, you'd probably feel very differently about it. Service was friendly, drinks came out looking great, and the music really tied the whole experience together. Definitely feels like one of Spokane's more unique cocktail spots if you want something moodier and more relaxed.

Robert welcomed us in and said Yes! they were still serving food. It was Sunday at 9:30pm and that was the theme: Yes! We felt welcomed and appreciated. Robert even custom-crafted my drink order. Thank you Robert, you made our experience truly wonderful! The food we ordered was excellent, not too heavy, perfect for a light snack. Highly recommend! I hope the management of this restaurant will recognize the positive impact of an employee like Robert and value him appropriately.

The atmosphere was really enjoyable -- the space has a great vibe, the drinks were well made, and overall it feels like somewhere that could become a favorite spot downtown. The food was decent as well, though not especially memorable. Unfortunately, the service completely overshadowed the positives. From the moment we walked in, we felt more like an inconvenience than welcomed guests. The host greeted us while remaining seated at the bar and simply told us to "sit anywhere," which immediately set an odd tone. When I asked for paper menus, I was told they only use QR codes. Normally that wouldn't be a huge issue, but the menu was around 15 pages long with tiny font, making it frustrating to navigate on a phone. Once our food arrived, we essentially never saw our server again. No check-ins, no refill offers, no asking if we wanted another round of drinks -- nothing. Meanwhile, staff members were gathered at the bar loudly talking among themselves and openly complaining about being there, which was uncomfortable to listen to as customers trying to enjoy a night out. Eventually, we had to walk up to the front bar ourselves just to pay our bill. That was the most disappointing part because the restaurant truly has the foundation to be excellent. The ambiance and drinks are already there, but hospitality matters just as much as the food. A little attentiveness and genuine customer service would have completely changed the experience. We absolutely would have ordered more drinks and likely stayed longer if anyone had checked on us. Hopefully management takes service more seriously, because this place could be great with the right staff culture and attention to guests.
