The worst ever experience of my whole life. The first time you book a hotel with parking included, but no space for parking in either so called hotel or nearby! Even worse, the answer you receive as rude as possible: it is what it is! Your problem!!! Terrible experience. Was denied my $200 deposit back for missing items I checked in late at night because I didnt want to drive 3 hours home I went in with the clothes on my back and my purse. They said I took 2 large bath towels hand towels faceclothes and the bath mat! Im not sure where they think I had them hidden on my body but I was told to call police if I wanted. No manager was on site I told them to check the cameras they conveniently didn't have cameras on the floor I stayed. The staff were laughing like it was a joke very rude. Clearly the items were not in the room to begin with and clearly they were not on me and clearly I got ripped off. I stayed from 11pm straight to sleep and left at 9:30am i will never ever stay here again waste of money. read more

Anytime someone suggests you get a hotel for a night away, it's always pretty exciting right? You get a more comfortable bed than you're used to, better immenities than you're used to, water pressure so hard that it takes off a layer of skin (but damn does it feel good), AND best of all, no need to clean up after yourself! This feeling of excitement was even more than usual when I found out that I would staying for a low low price of $88! Plus it's right near Downsview park so I imagined this was going to be awesome. I forgave the fact that the elevator scared my girlfriend and I with it various groans of protest as we moved from main floor to lobby (floor 2) t check in. I even forgave the fact that the key to get in was actually a key - no swipe cards. The lobby looked semi modern, fresh, clean - these might have just been signs of an aging hotel, but with that lobby I knew it was gonna be great! I had hoped... After fumbling with the key in the door for a few minutes we were greeted by a blast of hot dry sauna temperature air, and a massive suite of a room. The room had a sitting/tv area, a dressing and bathroom area and then a bedroom to the back. Once the awe of the size wore off I got to looking around and suffice it to say, I was not impressed with what Montecassino offered. Dated appliances: Our TV was circa 1990 at best, rear projection, tube, tiny. Sure there were two of them but the picture was so bad and static filled I felt that maybe a pair of bunny ears might have helped. Our heating and AC unit was literally an old window mount which allowed you to choose between Hot, Cold and Hotter for temperatures. Furniture in ill repair: The faces of all the tables were chipped and worn down, with big gaps missing all over their faces. The couch was thread bare and there appeared to be a wide gray stain on the couch that I didn't dare sit on or near. The cabinets were massive and housed the TV these were also in ill repair. Room in ill repair: Curtains were threading and falling apart, closet doors were busted and not aligning properly, worst of al the bed... the bed creaked and groaned and buckled under our weight, the two of us woke up the next morning with sore backs and generally exhausted. Water pressure according to my girlfriend was pretty whack, so even her shower wasn't enjoyable. There was free wifi... i guess. Stay here for a cheap one nighter but don't expect much. This should be a 1 star but I'll give them credit for the majority of the room being clean. Be advised this is a motel posing as a hotel... that should set your expectations accordingly read more

I would never stay at this hotel and neither should you. The manager Daniel is rude, doesn't call you back and refused to refund my money, which is precious to me as I receive SSDI. The worst part is I cancelled just 6 HOURS over the cancellation deadline, because my travel partner got sick. I called as soon as I found out, but non-compassionate Daniel has no heart. I was generally happy with our 4 nights here last month. The suite was clean, we had everything we were supposed to, and the staff I dealt with were polite. The only problem was that the free wifi didn't work much after our first night. Convenient for Downsview Park Go station. read more

Booked for 4 nights 6/29-7/3 at about $100 per night on booking.com. It's in a business warehouse / light industrial area pretty far north of the city, but easily accessible to Dtwn Toronto thanks to a subway station about 1km away. Outside appearance is decent enough, albeit an odd parking setup. Staff was friendly and relatively helpful. What gives this rating 1 star are the rooms themselves. 1st room 5th floor: Decent sized, with many problems. The floor was filthy, with dirt stains and what looked like some sort of grime. The furniture was old and nicked, with notches missing in some corners of the tables. Next to the table is a cabinet that houses the TV and refrigerator. The TV itself is a very small, old tube television. Next to it was an absolutely filthy fridge. Not only was there rust and the dirt/grime along the bottom and insides, but the fridge itself was sitting on warped, what looked to be rotting wood. The AC cover was broken in half (though the unit worked fine), and there was rust in the bathrooms. After seeing this, we asked to be moved. The front desk mentioned renovated rooms on the third floor, which we asked to see. We were allowed to see room 315, a 'renovated room'. This room was clean, spotless in fact. No rust or grime on the fridge, no issues with the table, cabinet, floors, AC, or bathroom. We asked about this room and was told it would be extra, how much? No one told us... Long story short, we decided to take another room at 'our rate'. The front desk called cleaning services to see if a specific room back on the 5th floor was finished being cleaned, and was told they had just finished. 2nd room 5th floor: Nearly same as the first. Floor was dirty, TV the same, fridge a little cleaner, however the chair next to the table had what appeared to be puke? smeared on the outside of the cushion of the chair. There were also cigarette burns on the table as well. At this point we knew we weren't going to stay here, so we searched the internet (which barely registered) and found another place on the east side of Toronto. When we left we told the front desk about the problems, and was told the manager was out but she would explain the situation the following day. Today we received a $92 cancellation fee from this place. We called booking.com and they called the hotel and got rid of the fee. Our problem is specifically with the cleanliness and appearance of the rooms as described above, definitely not worth near $100 / night. read more

the only comment on this hotel is the price, you cant have same price as the 4 or 5 star hotel when your hotel is not that great, in terms of cleanliness this hotel is not that clean.. the lobby is on the second floor also not that presentable to be a hotel even on the 1st floor doesn't look like a hotel. This place is horrible. My stay was only two days, and if the cancellation fee wasn't so high, I would've canceled it and stayed at another hotel. At the reception desk, I was asking about my reservation, and was told to call booking.com. I asked if they could give me the number, but they continued their conversation. Anyways, moving on... Our first room was so cold with no carpets on the floor. The heater didn't work, so they gave us a better room with two beds instead of one. At our second room, my husband thought it was a great free upgrade, until the heater wasn't even warm and only blew cold air. We left it on for about 5 mins thinking it would heat up, but nope. My usual stay in hotels, the housekeeper comes make the bed for us, but this one didn't. No big deal. So I decided to make the bed, and GUESS WHAT I SAW?! DRIED BLOOD! YES, DRIED BLOOD ON THE BEDSHEETS! They could not at least just replace these bed sheets. I, now, question if they even wash any of the blankets and bedsheets. Terrible experience at this hotel. I knew I was going to have a challenging time when I read the notice they had posted on the front check in desk:(see Below) Respect is a SHARED responsibility. We will provide you with a courteous and timely service in a secure environment. Please address our personnel politely and calmly. No aggressive behavior and foul language will not be tolerated. Your Patience is greatly appreciated. So customer service appears to be an option for their staff if they determine we don't earn it. To start off I called the hotel a day before my arrival as I had reservations and inquired if my room would have a microwave or fridge (as some hotels do). They informed that had them but only in the suites, but then offered to have a fridge set up in my room for tomorrow for no charge. That was great. I arrive around 8pm at night go to my room only to find there is no fridge. So I call down they said hotel is full so no fridge is available. So next morning 8am go down to the front desk spoke to clerk he said he would ensure I get a fridge. Came back in the afternoon no fridge! Called down again indicated how many times I have requested a fridge they said it will be 2 hours. It came with a very miserable maintenance man to drop it off. I found the male front desk staff to be very rude my colleagues had to deal with strong odor of Cannabis in their hallway (when their hotel is a non-smoking hotel!) when staff were told they just said that they don't enforce this rule. Other people were checked into a room with no heat and it took well over an hour for them to be transferred to a different room. Meanwhile they were told by front desk staff (Onzo) to be patient and let us do are job in very condescending tone. The woman at the cafe that also runs the breakfast buffet was very nice, as well the woman at the front desk who I could was frustrated with the attitude of her male co-workers at the front desk. The cleaning staff very helpful and gave great customer service. Perhaps these people mentioned above could give instruction to the management and other workers who sadly lack customer service attitude. If I could rate this hotel lower I would! I'm not one to usually review places, even when I have a bad experience but this I couldn't let go! It was by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had! You'd be better off finding a motel on the side of a highway! I'm not one to say these types of things without some sort of proof so I'll just list the things that happened during my two night stay at this hotel: 1. Our alarm went off for faulty reasons at 230AM and they did not give us any discount or even an apology! 2. Half the hotel is blocked off and shut off to save them money, so it was really weird and poor to see, usually when you go to a hotel you like to experience the hotel, especially when the part blocked off and closed was the bottom floor when you first walk in. 3. The included breakfast they offer is a waste of time! If you didn't get there in the early morning you got nothing! When we went for ours on Saturday morning the only things left was a few bagels,muffins and cereal... no milk, no spoons, no coffee, no fruit, no yogurt, nothing was replenished throughout the morning! 4. They're hair dryer didn't work and they didn't have a spare to replace it with (and I was getting ready to go to a wedding) 5. The rooms were not well cleaned at all! There was still dust everywhere which makes me question the quality of everything else cleaned... 6. The service there is the most poor service I've ever encountered the man at the front desk was so extremely rude! And I would understand his rudeness if I were being rude but I was completely polite while dealing with him! Unacceptable. 7. And to top it off this hotel wasn't cheap, so it's not like you should deal with these issues for the price you pay! Anyways I wish I read reviews before going there, I will obviously not be back!
