This is the one dollar store that I've found that sells 2.99 shirts like Nike, adidas, pumas etc. I know they are probably fake but the shirts are still pretty good quality! The store itself is pretty dirty and they were playing music on the intercom that was really scratchy to the point it became annoying. Update with my 1st experience. Brush cost $3.99. But was not label with the price. When they scan or enter the price, you are unable to see what they are charging you. By the time you pay, and look at the receipt. Is NO refund. Exchange only! When you go into a dollar store. You will assume everything is a dollar , unless they have a price labeled to let the customer know is over a dollar. After seeing the reviews, I had to write my own to defend this great store. Yes, it's called Monte Dollar and some items are not a dollar. I believe this to help benefit the customer. For example, look at the 99 cents they no longer offer just items that cost 99 cents. It's also due to the economy, it's hard to offer quality items that customers want to buy for 99 cents. I also read reviews on the narrow aisle, but I went last week and was surprised of the space. Myself and another gentleman were able to walk through the aisle shoulder to shoulder. Some reviews stated about the how disorganized this place was, but that usually happens when they receive a new shipmemt of stuff and they're reorganizing their racks. This store has slowly been improving. They added a second cash register a couple months ago. My last experience was great. I was waiting in line and the cashier came and told me she would take me. I will continue coming here for their closeness to my house and their cheap prices. read more

I was at the location on N. Peck Road, I purchased many different item. I have In my basket four tube of Crest Gum & sensitivity protection toothpaste for price labeled as a dollars each tube. cashier clerk charged 6 tubes of Crest toothpaste and out of 6 there are two called Crest Gum & Sensitivity protection toothpaste charged at the price of $4.98 plus tax and the 4 other called Crest toothpaste without particular use or flavor for $4.00 plus tax. I have no idea how cashier could able to do such things. I try to make complaints regarding the above matters. I called phone number listed on receipt so many time today which is dated June 05, 2021 and so one bother to answer the called than my call automatically go to fax machine. I am being charged more than what I have. I am very upset when I go through my purchased items and checked upon receipt. I could not believe myself how such things could happened. This store is pretty great. When the kids have a project due for school and we need to get materials I come here to grab what they need. This store is jammed packed with goodies! Sure a few things are over a dollar but if its not a legit 99 cents store than you cant argue that theyll sell things that are jus a few bucks more, but still inexpensive. Which is cool cuz sometimes you find things you don't usually find at a 99 cents store. A yelper mentioned that this place is disorganized. Imma comment that that's a false accusation. The only time I've seen this disorganized is when they're doing their job by trying to put in new merchandise. Other than that the aisles are a bit tight but not so much, and the only downside is that the cashier does keep an eye on you. Which is annoying. That's why I'm rating them at 4 stars. You just gotta mind your business and forget about it but when you pay their always polite and grateful that you shopped at their store which is funny. read more

First of all let me start with the cashiers they are very rude i think they must think they are the owners if the store. They always give u attitude when u ask them something their store policy is no money back but i think if they mess up and charge u for something that wasn't even in your basket they should be able to give u your money back for their mistake. Went to shop there on Sunday(12/10/17) around 6:00pm with my 2-year old son and my 5 months old daughter. Both of them were sleeping. So I went inside with a double stroller. I had to hold My son cuz he was sleeping can't sit him down on the stroller. When i was about to check out after I finished shopping the cashier said the stroller doesn't fit there. She told me to wait there at the cosmetic aisle. But I went to check it has way enough space to fit a stroller! But I didn't say nothing just wait. When it's my turn to check out I start to take out all the stuff from the stroller.She said that you can't put your stuff in your stroller!! You have to bring a basket with you. I said I was carrying my son. He was sleeping. Then she said the stroller is not allowed inside the store!! I went to visit my mom on Sunday, we decided to go to monte dollar to get a few essentials that I needed, mind that I don't live in El Monte but in Rowland heights. I get to the cashiers and they take my debit card takes at least a whole 2 minutes for it to say approve on the pin pad when the receipt prints out is says error, or thats what the cashier said I asked to do it again because I know it shouldn't get denied. I decide to check my online bank statement to make sure it didn't go through, I never do this but it just didn't seem right that it said approve and then it said error. when I check there is was they had charged me, lady didn't want to give me my items that obviously they charged for she said I had to wait for the owner to be there to refund me my money. I didn't want money back just my items, she said I had to purchase them again in order for me to take them cuz on there end it didn't go through. long story short I have to go out of my way to drive 25 miles to get my 6$ dollars back. so unprofessional and they no nothing about customer service read more
