Great location for this new restaurant Montana's in Airdrie. Wonderful food selections and some what good prices. For a franchise this place will give the other restaurant in the area a run for there money. We shared the BBQ sampler and deep pickles with a awesome dip and some beers. You know we were unable to eat it all, we did the take home goodies. Service was good Jill was very knowledgeable about the food and drink specials. Had dinner with three friends last night. I had mac& cheese with brisket pieces, they were over cooked crispy burnt looking not sure if they were supposed be like that. Another meal was ordered as blue rare steak baked potato. My friend doesn't send it back as she should have. Told the waitress after I guess for info she said "what would you like me to do now that you ate it". Is that the correct response? I work in the service industry too & I don't think so. Been there several times & have had great meals & service, if you have changed something please change it back. Staff is what makes this place great! So incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive! I ordered take out and I never knew you could have such great service doing just take out but she was great!! She timed the making of my pick up perfectly to my drive time. Very warm and friendly right from the get go. When I showed up I was greeted and she had just gotten everything together minutes before and kept in a cooler to keep warm. It was a take-out evening again today and we tried Montana's Airdrie. I ordered the fish & chips and my wife's interest was caught by the brisket grilled cheese sandwich. She also ordered an onion ring side. The front service was so nice - they even knocked $10 off the bill. That makes it even tougher to rate them 2, but the food was JUST SO GREASY! They're still working out some kinks but both times we've been there, the food and service were both good. I would recommend them for large groups or small. Their drinks are good, and I find the bar drinks more reasonably priced than a lot of the bars and restaurants in town. I've had their lunch half-sandwich with salad and their 7oz steak. Eek, disappointing experience for the newest place in Airdrie. Service was slow, our waitress seemed flustered and barely smiled. She apologized a few times for being too busy. Sat with empty drinks more than I would've liked. The food was hit and miss. Two of us ordered the exact same meal (7oz AAA sirloin), and the steaks that were served to us looked completely different. One was very thin and one was like a baseball. Shows poor choices in the kitchen in my opinion, at least pick similar cuts to be served to the same table! My steak was so under cooked it was almost moo'ing and the sides were luke warm. The other guests at our table said the ribs were great, as always with Montana's, but the chicken wings were bad. The chicken waffle club sandwich got two thumbs up. Not mind blowing, but definitely good. Fries were cold too though. The manager came over to look at my raw steak. He apologized and took it off the bill. He was great about it and really nice, but it did look like he was walking around putting out an awful lot of fires. Overall I would say the kitchen needs more training and better quality control. Service could be faster and friendlier. The atmosphere is nice though! More modern and hip than older locations. read more

I am not one to leave bad reviews for local businesses but I was mad about how they treated me and my family last night (February 18, around 6:00ish -7:00pm) We went there as a family of four, two adults and two kids. The lady who served us was very friendly. The food was good. We finished and paid for the food( tipped as well) and then noticed my four-year-old was still eating her ice cream ( dessert from them) So we had to wait for her to finish because it was cold out there and if I wanted my kids to eat in my car I would order the food and eat in my car. As we sat there waiting for her to finish eating, they switched the lights off on our table without saying anything to us and started giving us these disgusting glances. The sad part is Montanna's is our family's favourite place. I am not going back there anymore. Funy part is I didn't see them do the same to the white people who were sitting next to us playing X and Os when they were done too. They are nice before the tip. read more

My husband, son and went on tues night. We sat in bar place was slammed. Server Janel looked after us very well. Yes music was loud as others have said, but didn't have a problem with conversation. Food was very good, steaks were cooked to perfection. We did have to wait a bit, but understanding that the restaurant was so busy wasn't a problem. Very happy to see a decent place in Airdrie without having to drive into Calgary for a good meal. We will be back. read more

Horrible food, horrible hostesses. They don't take reservations past 5:30 pm and you are told to wait in your car. Hostess didn't bother to listen to our request for a table not a booth. We were sat at a booth despite my handicap. Rude and nasty when reminded. Pot roast soup was cold, and not up to standard. Ribs were dry, flavourless and had the membrane still on them which meant you had a big piece of cartilage hanging off them. Our dogs got most of the ribs. Our waitress really tried but she couldn't make up for bad hostesses and bad food. read more

The service and food quality was fantastic. However the Airdrie location is not the Montanas we have grown to love. It is not the steakhouse. Its is more of a bar with very loud music blasting while you are trying to have a conversation. The seating is too crowded and we were not offered to sit in our own booth, instead sat us along a wall with others sitting on top of us. So if you love the Steakhouse Montanas this is not it. Worst experience, ever. We planned a birthday dinner for our kid's, with their Aunt and Grandma. Booked through Open Table. It was busy, so we were understanding about the wait for our food. The waitress, commented that the kitchen was backed up due to Save the Dishes orders, not that it was busy. We were told that our food was ready, just waiting for one more item. We said, just to bring what they had. Waited for another 10 minutes, nothing. We got up and walked out, waited over an hour for our order. As we were leaving the waitress, mentioned that she would grab a manager, the manager made no effort to discuss any issue with us, as he watched us walk out the door. I called the manager, after eating somewhere else, to try to explain the situation and our experience. He really did not seem to care. He focused on the fact that they covered our drinks, since we "walked out on our bill". Kept asking me what I expected, no apology. Music is way too loud. Staff really can't hear what you order. Greeter was nice. Waitress didn't understand a normal drink order. Food took a long time for ordering the lunch special. 1* is way too much for this restaurant. What a shame!!! This new Airdrie restaurant could have it all but they choose instead to make every mistake there possibly could be. First by not taking reservations, saying we are going to see how things go first and then decide. Really?? Secondly, the music is blaring in this family restaurant and why do they think this is a good thing? The staff at the front desk needs way more training. I arrived with my son and told them for "3", my husband was joining us. I waited so it seemed they were preparing a table. 2 ladies arrived right after me and they took them to a table. I watched 2 more be asked if they wanted to sit in the lounge area, which they did. I finally asked are they preparing a table. She looked at me with this stunned look and said what is your name? I said I didn't give you my name. She was looking on the computer that they have. She said oh we don't have any tables and it would be another hour. She just kept staring at me. I said are you for real? You just seated 2 people and I have been waiting here. She could care less AND the manager is HORRIBLE. Also could care less. We have been here now 4 times and we reside in the area. Each time there has been an issue. Steak is cold that they serve. No staff to talk to when there is an issue with the food. We will not step foot in this restaurant again. 2 times now we ended up going to other local restaurants (PAUL'S PIZZA, and BOSTON PIZZA). I suggest everyone avoid this restaurant and get great service, hot food with exceptional service from any other restaurant in airdrie other than MONTANA's. read more
