My uncle has lived here for 15 years and never tried this place. We brought him for his 80th birthday. It was busy and we had to wait 15 minutes to be seated and they offered us choices of seating when they were able to have room to allow us to choose an intimate corner or a busy corner. The service was excellent. They had a varied menu and we tried the pizza and the filet with lobster tail. It was wonderful and the lobster was tender and the filet was tender and cooked perfectly to order. Did I tell you how great the service was. Would come here again in a second. We were traveling from the lower 48 to Fairbanks. This was day 5 and we wanted a good meal and make it an early night to get on the road in the morning. We ordered the escargot as an appetizer and then we split a ribeye steak with a baker. The escargot came with lovely garlic bread and we requested more to make sure we got every drop of the yummy goodies surrounding each little snail. It was a great starter. Our waitress apologized for a delay in the additional bread. There was no need! She had no way of knowing we were those folks that believed that garlic and butter was meant for bread and should not be waisted. The steak was perfect for us to share and the baked potato fixings were amble and fresh. Our steak was a perfect medium rare and did not disappoint. We decided to give Alexander's Steakhouse in Airdrie a try for in-house dining this evening. The restaurant was briskly busy, but not fully packed with people. Staff greeted us politely and seated us promptly. We were at a corner table, a reasonably nice location, but a bit too close to neighbouring diners. Service was properly attentive and timely. My wife and I shared our appetizers. Hers was calamari - very tasty. My wife thought it a bit light on coating, but I disagreed - calamari seemed perfect to me. My spanakopita was very tasty. It was served with tzatziki and salad with a very pleasing house dressing. My wife chose as entree the chicken souvlaki, served with a rice pilaf and a delicious greek salad. I went with a salmon skewer and garden salad, balsamic dressing. We were too full on appys and main course to tackle anything on the dessert menu. Both meals were really very good and with a bill under $100 pre-tip. Despite our earlier mishaps with this restaurant and take-out pizza quality, I think we'll dine here again. My parents like to go to Alexander's fairly frequently but I've only been once or twice in the last 6 years. Yesterday we were celebrating, so we went to Alexander's. The waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. The food was excellent. My mom had the Veal cutlets and I had a taste, they were delicious and the sauce they're served with is fantastic. I had the opportunity to taste their ceasar dressing, because my husband ordered a salad and it was also very good. I'm pretty sure it's homemade, which awesome! It's garlicy but not overboard. We shared spanikopita as our starter. It was alright, I enjoyed it, but the small salad that came with it on the plate with a vinagrette was excellent and the tatziki is amazing. Both my father and I had the souvlaki. The chicken was tender and moist. Not dry at all. Very well flavored. The rice was bursting with flavor and the salad was a fresh, true Greek salad and it was amazing. My husband had the steak and raved about how much better it was than the one he recently had at the keg. He said it was flavorful and cooked properly. He also enjoyed his sides and said the veggies were very good. My mom also ate some of the veggies so they must have been good lol. Overall it was a fantastic experience. I just had the worst experience I've ever had at this poor excuse for a restaurant. I was asked to the leave the restaurant because I sent a steak back because it was tough. I asked why I was being asked to leave and the waitress told me that she had spoken to the owner and in her words: "The owner will not make another steak because he cannot seem to please you" I proceeded to ask her how the owner knew who I was because I had never met the mythical creature in all my time going to this place. "From before" she said. It took me a few minutes and I remembered that I had sent food back on previous visits. I should mention that I did sent food back and that she is correct. BUT I only did this when they did not cook the food as I had requested. Now I don't think that it's much to ask but in the world of customer service, when food is not cooked correctly or is quite tough, it's only correct to send it back. I would have been happy to continue eating the steak, but she took it away before I could say another word. I didn't ask for free food or anything like that and would have paid for it. But nope, didn't even get the chance. To top it all off, the owner didn't even have the courtesy to tell me himself. He had to use his waitress... Needless to say don't go here, there are better places in Calgary to spend your money. Caesar's and Vintage are much better choices. read more

Tried the pizza here. Awesome! This is our go to pizza place in Airdrie for sure! Really thick with tons of toppings and yummy cheese and sauce! Haven't had a bad meal here yet. Tried several things on the menu and my whole family agrees that this is one of our favorite spots in Airdrie. I think I had one of the best steaks in my life here. I ordered the Rib Eye, which was around $30. It was made exactly how I requested, incredibly flavorful, and I was determined to eat everything on my plate because of how lovely it all was. The stuffed baked potato was great, the caesar salad was extra fresh tasting, the service was on point. Great experience here, and a lovely environment. I absolutely recommend this place. read more

So unhappy with this place . Went in 9 months pregnant didn't like anything on the menu it was 4.05 pm and I wanted to order a sandwich to which I was told they stopped serving sandwiches at 4 pm ! This was quite possibly the worst pizza we've ever had. The pizza was crispy like it was deep fried. There was so much cheese that the bottom of the box was soaked through. After paying $30 for an extra-large we didn't want to waste it so I tried to peel some of the cheese off but it was just too greasy. Sad to say I had to force myself to use a gift cert for Alexanders, so I actually had a virtually free meal, which I would have been livid to have paid 60 bucks for. No website. Called to find out where their menu was online. They said they would email a PDF. There's the first red flag. I guess a Facebook page would make it too easy for schmucks like me to call them out. I read some online reviews and they started off okay when they opened, but this place won't be open long if others experience the same slop we received. We ordered take out on a Sunday evening, the place was dead, so it only took 20 minutes to prepare. We had the Aloha Chicken pizza, (dressed up way of saying Hawaiian) Cheap ham, what seemed to be deli chicken breast (not the Prime Chicken Breast they describe on the menu) oh wait, perhaps they weren't lying and they cut up some Maple Leaf Prime Deli Chicken Breast....it was mediocre pizza, but sadly that was the best part. 9 honey garlic wings for $11 barely had any sauce, wings were piddly small and only one drummy. Last and certainly least was the 2 orders of Calamari. Soggy, sad, rubbery rings that we tried to revive by putting under our broiler, but to no avail. We ate a couple and tossed the rest. (90 percent of both orders) The coup de grace was the bill came out to a dollar higher that it should have been I didn't notice till I got home, and I actually tipped her a couple bucks. I was going to pay cash for the outstanding amount and the server had to go back to the office for the manager? But then came back without said manager and I asked if it would be easier if I paid with a card. She said yes, because she didn't know how long the manager would be in her office. I decided to check out this new steak house with my family this weekend. We all tried the Top Sirloin (medium rare) and Crab Leg Special and my daughter had the Double Pepperoni Pizza. Food: The food didn't stand out as anything particularly amazing, price-wise it didn't quite match the quality and taste for me. The pizza could have been replicated at any other restaurant, it reminded me somewhat of the mediocre pizza at Pauls. Best pizza so far i've had in town is from Pour Beer, not that I would take my daughter there. The steak was... a steak. It came with a couple Crab Legs and a Caesar Salad. The crab tasted previously frozen (as most is out here) and the salad was watery. For $36 I could have went to Red Lobster and gotten a far better experience meal-wise. Service: I was served by a young pretty waitress. She was very attentive considering how busy she was. She got everything right and made sure our meal was enjoyable. HOWEVER her manager, or supervisor seemed to hover over and and after she had asked if we were enjoying our meal the manager/supervisor came soon after to ask the same thing. The hovering manager/supervisor continually parroted the waitress after we were already taken well care of by said waitress to the point where I felt harassed. At one point i heard the manager giving our poor waitress grief for not clearing the plates at some appointed time the Manager/supervisor seems to have imagined up. I would return for the amazing service given by the justifiably stressed and micromanaged waitress if the manager were on holidays or stayed by the kitchen. All in all if the price of food matched the food quality and if the manager stayed away and let the waitresses do their job I would return. read more

HOLY CRAP!!! Aside from the steak which was good, everything else was awful. The lady who sat me down, which I would guess was the owner was one of the worst at kissing ass I had ever had in my life. Lady, people feels the desperation from you. A little bit of space will do and I found you kind of rude. I overheard her talking to one of her servers in a disrespectful way...and I felt sorry for the girl...I could tell the servers were anxious and seems as though people were walking on egg shells. Food was great. Thier pizza with smoked salmon and shrimp was delicious. ( sounds gross but i gave it a try ). Serving was huge. Although the brunch buffet is expensive $22 if im not mistaken, for what they served. Tons of dessert options but they're always running out of food. Will give it a try again. read more

We went here for a double date with my parents . My mom had heard raving reviews of this place , so we just HAD to check it out . We started with the bruschetta .. Oh my gosh ahhhh mazing! We were excited, because we were off to a good start! Anyway, as mentioned before .. I was really disappointed that they didn't serve sandwiches in the evening . I ended settling for the burger and fries, while everyone else at my table had steak. Once the food had arrived, every other word from my table mates was "oh my gosh this is the best steak I have ever had" "yum" "this is to die for " haha .. So maybe they loved it ????? I on the the other hand really didn't enjoy my burger . I am not picky when it comes to food , I'll eat anything and everything . Unfortunately , I think Wendy's has better fries , and the burger was ok . We ended the dinner with cheesecake, which was very impressive . All in all I give the restaurant 4 stars, mostly on behalf of everyone else I was with, who rave about the steak ... Like once a week haha. read more
