We were able to hang out downstairs in the breakfast area that evening. It was nice to be able to catch up and watch for other family members to show up. I love the decor of the lobby and the staff were pretty helpful and friendly. There's a bowl of apples and water available when you check in. They have a small fitness center that has a refillable water station. This place has an indoor pool and jacuzzi (separate areas). They only had 2 Queens available instead of a King but that was okay. The room and hotel common areas were clean. The air conditioner works great. Water pressure was good and it got hot fast. Our room had a small refrigerator and microwave. It had a desk, full length mirror and luggage shelf. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast was good. They have scrambled eggs, omelettes and hard boiled eggs. The oatmeal had 11 different toppings (the most I've seen at any hotel we've stayed at). Other offerings: biscuits and gravy. Bagels, bread and English muffins to toast. Mini muffins, bananas, yogurt, milk, orange juice and apple juice. Waffle station. The only thing they didn't have was sausage or bacon. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

We were drawn to Alpine for the beautiful scenery and the all-inclusive nature of Barry's package. He enticed us with his promise of good down-home cooking and gorgeous jade plants, and he was willing to work with us to put together exactly what we were wanting. As a type-A person, I have to admit that Barry's laid-back attitude made me a little nervous, but he is a true professional and pulled it together seamlessly on the big day. He made it all appear effortless, but I know that the end product was the result of his 25 years of experience with weddings. The day was great from beginning to end. The bridal room was beautiful and included a lighted makeup station, private bar, and a giant mirror that was great for pictures. My bridesmaids all commented on how cute it was. Barry was flexible on setup, and by the time I arrived on site, the tables were dressed and everything looked beautiful. Barry's price per head on food was significantly lower than any Columbia caterer, and the brisket, turkey, and sides were seriously the best wedding food I have ever eaten. It actually rained on our wedding day, but we were able to find a window for the outdoor ceremony, and Barry kept everyone comfortable with space heaters and curtains in the pavilion. He put out a lovely coffee/hot chocolate bar and even soup and grilled cheese for a snack to keep everyone feeling toasty. We never even asked him to put out the soup -- he just did it. We had a couple of older family members at our wedding who can't sit for long periods of time in folding chairs, and Barry set out a recliner and rocking chair from his own home with blankets to keep them comfortable before and during the reception. The kids at our wedding had a blast running around the venue, and even the adults enjoyed feeding the fish in the koi pond. Everybody kept saying how unique and beautiful the park was. Justin, the DJ, was fun and easy, and it was a relief to have him take charge of the reception schedule so we could just enjoy. All in all, I can't even imagine how the day could have been better. I'm just so happy that we decided to have our wedding in the most beautiful place in Missouri.

There are two bars, one on the lower level and another in the main room. The bartenders, were well skilled in their craft. It was an open bar, so they had to hustle to keep up with the thirsty guest. Eclipse Catering is part of, The Atrium, so they did the dinner and it was excellent. We started out with a small Caesar Salad. Guest got to choose between chicken or steak as their entree. I chose steak and it was fork tender, so I really did not need to use the steak knife they provided. It came with two-sides, Roasted Potatoes and Purple Carrots. Both were excellent choices. The serving of dinner went smoothly, The servers knew which entree each guest requested, because the words chicken or steak were written under our name of the place cards. A simple detail like that can make things so easy. For the size of the space, I was impressed with the acoustics. When the wedding party gave their toast, they were easy to hear. Also, when the DJ started playing music to get the party started, there was no echo. If you're in need of a party/event space in downtown Columbia, look no further, The Atrium on Tenth is the place for you.
