I came here on a whim this past Sunday and it was a pleasant surprise. I wasn't sure what to expect from a mini golf place in the Central Jersey area but the place was pretty cool. It's dark and there's some lights but the cool thing was the art work on the wall. A lot of different cartoonish drawings neon drawings that are pretty cool to look at. The mini golf course itself wasn't too chanllenging; some difficult courses but nothing crazy. The arcades were fun as well but some of the machines were broken. I was wearing grey shoes and they were lit up too going in the course. Someone was wearing white and orange and look like they are lit up with the course too. The arcades are fun to play and the crane game you can win any prizes with so many chances. Took me 30 mins to get my stuff coffee for 3 dollars and I'm happy I finally got it. Had my daughter's birthday party on Saturday. The kids had fun but when we arrived they only gave me 15mins to set up before the party began. So while everyone is coming in I'm still setting up the food. No plates forks and cups were out. I had to ask for all that. Also there were only 2 kids there and the party host is asking if he can do the scavenger hunt now. I said the party hasn't all arrived. Upon booking I was told the food and cake was first along with games then onto the course and the kids can play mini golf unlimited. They only played 2 games with the kids. The party was private only from 10-12. At 11 I had to ask the host when we do cake and food. He said whenever you want. But you have to be back on the course by 11:30 otherwise they couldn't play another round of golf. I asked if he can make an announcement since I now have to cram food and cake within an half hour. He never made an announcement. I had to walk around and tell everyone. It felt very rushed, disorganized and not enough time for everything for the price I paid. The lady when booking said unlimited they can play all day. Not unlimited in what they can do in 2 hours. Also the heat was broken! It was a whopping 61 degrees the whole time being there. I said something when walking in he said oh cause they just opened. Then an hour later we asked again about the heat he said hold on and came back and said oh it's broken. I don't know if it was cause it was to early or the host was new but definitely was not energized enough to be a host. read more

Okay, this place is really supposed to be for kids but some days the big kid in me comes out. Yesterday after some adulting at the pool hall, I decided to come here. The holes were really fun and tricky, even though they looked simple enough. The glow in the dark theme is very modern and cool. The music was good and even though they don't have a HUGE selection of arcade games, it was still really fun and they had all the games you expect at a traditional arcade. Went to Monster on a Monday evening. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The ambiance and decor were top notch. The putt putt was challenging and a TON of fun! Although we didn't play in the arcade it was definitely difficult to turn down. The selection of games was vast and it included a bunch of classics (too bad we had dinner to catch). I think this is the coolest mini golf I've ever played. The whole environment is cool with neon lights. There are a lot of families with kids there. There are 18 holes with a certain varieties. The only bad thing is that when there are a lot of people, people with slower pace have to speed up so that they don't hold up the line. But it's hard to really enjoy the play this way. But I guess that's how it is for mini golf in general. read more

I have gone to the Monster mini golf before (Union- route 22)-- so I figured I would bring my 5 year old nephew here. First thing I noticed, this place is lot smaller than on on Route 22 Union. As I was checking in, they told me that game card I had bought/used at their other branch (Route 22) will not work here so I had to buy another $20 game card. They have few basic arcade games that can keep you busy while waiting for the mini-golf. The arcade games are VERY basic & $20 bucks gift card will be too much as you will end up playing all the games 2 or 3 times. The mini-golf itself is 18-holes course but it is very small. The black lights, graphics & few monsters will appeal to younger kids. They also play very kiddie loud music there -- just FYI. I would not be going back there again.. even with little kids. read more

After five minutes of playing mini golf my son decided he wasn't really into it and the manager refunded my money which was nice. Some of the games were out of order and the claw machines were super expensive. Also some games required a preloaded arcade card while others required cash. I come here from time to time to play the arcade games, a lot of them are for little kids to enjoy just like the mini golf which I don't find very exciting other than the first time but the ambience could leave you and your children a fresh and interesting experience. I usually hate these kind of spots but I took my kids there yesterday and had a very good time. First of all it's very affordable. The arcade games all worked fine and were a decent price. You get a card instead of tokens. All the machines were play until you win. The staff was very friendly. It wasn't too crowded. We bought game cards and ended up playing the same 3 games over and over...there aren't a ton of games to begin with, so this was disappointing. It's a fun atmosphere, though. We came for mini golf at 11:30 on a Saturday (they close at midnight) and they let our group stay and play despite us not leaving until 40 minutes past midnight. It was my first time at mini golf, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it was fun! It was all in dim lighting with a glow in the dark course, fun challenging obstacles, and bright colors. We were so excited to see Monster Mini Golf open in Edison, NJ!!! Had it opened a few weeks earlier we would have loved to have our son's 7th birthday party there....but there is always next year. We have gone as a family and have even attended a birthday party there this past weekend. When we went there as a family we were greeted by extremely friendly staff. They explained the pricing and even told us about the cards for the video games. We decided to golf first. My husband, my 7 year old, and myself played a round of golf. We even had our 1 year old there in his stroller. The course is designed in such a way that we were able to bring him along for the game! The workers even gave him a small plastic club so he could feel part of the action. The music was GREAT! They had something that everyone in my family liked. My son really liked the DJ and the questions and interactions. He 'won' a glow in the dark bracelet for having a specific color ball. He thought that was so cool! We finished our game and enjoyed all the neat pictures drawn on the walls as well as all the obstacles. This past weekend we went there to celebrate our friend's son turning 7. The party was great! We started out in one of the party rooms. The room was very clean and we had two people as our hosts. They helped give out the food and even offered everyone more food and drinks if they saw their cups or plates empty. What I found VERY interesting is that one of the hosts had a list of questions about the birthday boy. If you got them right you were able to pick a prize from a bin. That was great to see! The kids loved raising their hands to show how much they knew their friend. After the food and cake was done we moved on to golf. The workers took care of EVERYTHING! The lined the kids up and took them through the course. They even had a fun task for the birthday boy at the 7th hole. This interaction gave the parents some time to sit back and relax. It was a great party and the parents were able to enjoy themselves as much as the kids. At the end of the party each child got a free come back card as well as a game card to use at the machines. My son instantly ran to the race car game. He loved it and once he played that three times in a row he ran to the other side and climbed on the motorcycle racing game! Overall this is a great place to go!!! Looking forward to spending more time there in the months and years to come! We have our video game card already to be re-filled!!!! Wow, the Edison Monster Mini Golf is amazing!!! I have been to a few different locations and Edison is the by far the best! I have 3 girls ranging form 10-22 and we all have a blast there everytime we walk through the door. We thoroughly enjoyed playing the amazing arcade games (love the air hockey the most) and mini golf in black lights. The artwork, music, helpful and curtious staff, party rooms, golf course and moving monsters were top of the line!! I definitely recommend this Edison Monster Mini Golf to everyone of all ages!! Been here twice, and each time I go with my daughter something seems to go wrong. Most recently I went and more than half the games in the place were not working....... So my $20 card i bought was spent on 4 games!!!!!! The family recently visited the new Monster Mini Golf in Edison to check it out and see what is available. We had a great time. We experienced neon lighting and a live DJ which was a great surprise and very entertaining. Ofcourse, there is a beautiful indoor mini golf that proved to be challenging for this experienced golfer. There was also sparkling new arcade games all over the facility with some of the old time NJ favorites like air hockey and skee ball. Certainly, something for everyone. One other observation, there were a lot of people walking around with prizes from the arcade machines. There were several rooms being used as party rooms with food and drinks on the tables. This is actually my second time going to this location, the first time i went with a friend and we had a great time so i decided what a great idea for a playdate for my six year old son and little friend. We got there and it wasn't too crowded but we had to wait 15 minutes to start and were handed a buzzer. Our buzzer went off about 15 minutes later so we walked over to the front desk where we were ignored for about 10 minutes in which others who came after us were helped. We finally got to the start where three two groups were already waiting. About four groups started at the same time, we were a bit slow at times since it was two kids and two adults,.i would say about three minutes max a hole. My friend and her daughter took a drink break so my son and i did three holes without them and moved fairly quickly. At the 11th hole one of the workers came up to us and said "whomever gets the closest to the hole wins." I thought she was going to give us a prize and let us finish the hole but no, she was actually trying to push us along to the next hole. My son got very upset over this and wanted to complete the hole but we were brushed off to the next hole. After we all finished i decided to talk to the manager and express my concern etc. i spoke to him very nicely but firmly only to be brushed off. I am extremely upset about being brushed along and brushed off. My son was extremely upset about this and honestly im not sure if he wants to even go back after this experience. read more

Here is my honest opinion about this place. It's good for a rainy afternoon if you have young children. And by young, I mean 3-6 years old. The course itself is small, even though it has 18 holes. The arcade is small as well. I did not see these people walking around with their arms loaded with prizes as the previous poster stated. Yes, there was the popular skeeball, basketball, and a few others. But, we got bored easily. The machines deduct more money than they should (I thought maybe I was going crazy), but when I got to the last game I had $1 left. So, I decided that I should play a 50 cent game twice. Well, I played the first game and when I went to play the second it told me I had no money left! Some of the games are broken and do not work. There was a shooting game where player 1 could not shoot at all, a dinosaur crane game that was unavailable, and another game (not sure what it was called) that told us it was broken after we spent money on it. Also, no matter what game we played or how well we played it, we only won 10 tokens per game. When we were finally done, we brought our card (tickets are placed on the card) to the desk to choose some prizes. The guy at the desk was pushy and tried to get rid of us as quickly as possible. MMG gets a rating of a 1 and that's for their interesting wall paintings. I don't plan on going back there in the future and will tell my friends it's not worth it as well! read more
