I was interested in going to Monroe Med Spa so I put my info in online and received a text. I corresponded with Brittany and was told I'd get a call. Shortly after I received a call from a "Brittany" who quickly realized I was not close to her location so the moment she said "oh, you're closer to a different location," she hung up, without a goodbye or nothing- and she didn't even ask me my location. I called back immediately and someone else answered and said that "Brittany is on the phone and will call you back as soon as she can." She must've immediately hung up on me and called someone else or was avoiding me because she hung up on me- suffice it to say I never got a call back. And it's been a week or two now. If the reviews are true and Monroe Med Spa is a great place to go, it sounds like Brittany needs a new job or some lessons on how to gain customers, not scare them away. Very disappointed with you Brittany and Monroe Med Spa for letting her do that. I even told the other lady she hung up on me and she's like "oh." This was the first time I visited Monroe Medspa, I came for a facial. I had Annette, she was super sweet and did an excellent job, definitely walked away with visibly better skin. Was very pleased with the results and she went above and beyond with a lot of extraction to make sure I had the best result and tailored the service to my goals. Massage was relaxing and I liked the products used. Was excited to book again with her, but unfortunately, she is moving to another location. That being said... she was running 40 minutes behind. She was apologetic, but a heads up by text or call from reception would have been great. Waiting room was small and candles/scents were a little overwhelming (perhaps because I was sitting there for 40 minutes). Also, had to take my top off for the facial in a room with no curtains facing the street. I realize it is not a true spa, so you can't really expect spa like amenities - robe, water, tea etc. but for the money you pay, some curtains and a place to put my things other than the floor would have been appreciated. As a heads up, the place is not very accessible for those with mobility limitations, it is an old multi-story home, The front and foyer steps do not have railings and my service was on the 3rd floor. It looks like they have a wheelchair ramp on the other side so some accommodations may be able to be made to arrange a service on the 1st floor... but I'm not sure. I've been getting Botox and fillers for about 10 years (prevention is key okay?!) and I was initially skeptical of 'med spas' in general; especially Dr Ben since he has a wide social media presence. After seeing before/afters and hearing about his background, I had my first treatment last year and was very impressed. I immediately stopped going to my dermatologist who was overcharging me, and using ineffective techniques that ultimately weren't giving me the results I wanted. I've sent several friends to Dr Ben and they, too, are super happy! His consultations are very comfortable and you can tell he listens to what your expected outcomes are. I have two places that I go to for Botox treatment. Therefore, I am not a rookie to getting Botox. An acquaintance was telling me about a place (Monroe MedSpa) that she just went to and was telling me that they were having a back to school sale on Botox. I call and make an appointment and the receptionist schedules me with Savannah. Savannah and I discuss what areas I get done and how many units, look at my face and face lines. She tells me she will start with 30 units and when I come for my two week follow up we can see if I need more or if I think 30 was too much. I get my injections and checkout. I see I was texted a receipt and it says it was for 32 units. Not a huge deal, but still a discrepancy. I like to keep track of what I get done, so I call the office and speak to the receptionist who says based on what she had to charge me was 32 units, but advised to call and speak with Savannah who could look at my file and confirm what I received. I talk to Savannah who looks at my file and says she has 32 units and is laughing like "Oh did I tell you 30 units, I'm sorry". Then I go to my two week follow up and sit down and without looking at my file or anything she says "Ok so last time you were here you got 40 units". I said whoa what is going on with all these discrepancies, I am told 30 units, but really get 32 and now without even looking at my file you just say 40 units. She laughs and says "Let me look. Yes I have you down for 32 units". I wanted to get up and walk out right then and there, but I had an issue with the one side of my forehead still having a prominent line that in my past treatments I never had once receiving Botox. She put more Botox on that line to correct the issue. Then was looking at me and asked if I ever considered any face filler or lip injection. I told her no, that I was happy how my face looked. I get that she was probably trying to make a sale, but it comes across rude like trying to imply a client needs something. It's not what you say, but how you say it and your delivery. I was just very dissatisfied with the lack of professionalism and the lack of attention to detail. This service would have been fine if I was at a retail store dealing with a teenager new on the job, but not from a Nurse Practitioner making injections in my face, totally unacceptable. I will continue going to my other two places for Botox where I know I will get professionalism and above all ACCURACY. Catching a sale somewhere new wasn't worth it. read more

I've always wanted under eye fillers done, but was hesitant to pursue them because of the cost. After saving up money I did a lot of research and decided to go with Monroe MedSpa. After getting one syringe of Restylane injected by Dr. Ben, I was immediately let down because I saw absolutely no change in the way my under eyes looked. This was odd to me because I know that results are immediate. I decided to wait things out to see if I noticed any changes within the next week. Around 24 hours after the fillers were injected, I realized my eye bags looked worse than ever so I sent pictures to Dr. Ben and he told me the fillers "settled" too low and I just needed to massage them up to where I wanted them. This was weird to me because I follow many advanced injectors and they always say to refrain from touching your fillers for a couple days after they're injected; however, the fillers looked so bad it was my only option. I pushed the fillers up until my eyes physically hurt and they looked much better and I was happy with the result. A few days later once the swelling went down the fillers had a strong green hue and they were not spread out all across my undereye, but rather as thick boluses. I assumed that the green was just bruising and the fillers were not looking natural because they were still a little swollen, so I tried not to worry. A month passed and nothing changed, my under eyes still looked botched and not even makeup could cover up the green hue. I contacted Dr. Ben to share my frustration and he explained that he could slightly dissolve the under eye that had too much filler at no cost so I scheduled an appointment to get that done. At the appointment he injected hyaluronidase to one of my under eyes, and I also mentioned to him that I still had green bruising where the fillers are. He casually told me that this was not bruising and it was a result of the way the light hits the filler or something. He acted like this was normal, but everyone I knew who had fillers never had green hues like I did. Once I got home I did some research on this issue and found out that it was known as the "Tyndall Effect", which occurs "if HA (filler) is placed too superficially or in large boluses" (from https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3560162/ ). Additionally, he ended up dissolving nearly all of the filler in the under eye even though he told me he would just dissolve a really small amount, which left me with the eye bag I had before I got any filler at all. I became extremely frustrated and reached out to Dr. Ben once again. He said he would not refund me, but he would dissolve the other eye and then re-inject both eyes with less filler to prevent the Tyndall Effect from occurring again (the amount of filler he used was never the problem, rather it was how he injected the surface of my undereye into one area rather than spreading the filler and injecting deeper in). I already spent a large sum of money for this, so I figured I had nothing to lose. At my appointment for the fillers I made sure to let him know that my left eye still had some filler in it, whereas my right eye barely had any and that that eye would definitely need more filler injected than my left. This time he only used 1/2 of a syringe of Restylane. After my appointment I made sure not to touch the fillers this time because I was worried that all along this was my fault from massaging them. I got the Tyndall Effect again because the fillers were injected superficially and in concentrated masses. Additionally, he injected way more filler into my left eye (even though I made sure to specify that I needed more in my right than my left, now I have eye bags again). Since he started with my left eye he used nearly all the filler so then there wasn't even enough to add into my right. The filler added to my right eye left a small bolus/mass and wasn't added smoothly/spread out. I now have botched under eyes (can't see the bolus in the pic I posted, can see in person) and I chose not to try again because I am confident the same process would repeat for the third time. I genuinely did not want to write a review, but I lost $650 that I won't get back and I wouldn't want others to have to experience this. All I wanted was a refund, I would've been happy with a partial refund where I was refunded the difference between $650 and the actual cost to purchase the filler (which is around $200/syringe). I thought Dr. Ben was a great/advanced injector because he had impressive before and after pictures on his Instagram and so many followers and experience. After following him for a while, I realized that I was deceived because whenever I'm on my activity feed I see that he spends hours a day following random strangers so then they follow him, but then he'll just unfollow them to grow his page. I would like to be clear and state that this is MY experience and that he only filled my under eyes. read more
